Hello everyone, do you think the Chinese batteries that are 2450mah online from reliable?
someone has got to try them?
I've had a negative experience with a non-Samsung battery - nowhere near rated capacity, overheating. If it were me, I wouldn't use anything other than genuine Samsung batteries (& haven't other than that one occasion & I returned the battery/got a refund), tho YMMV obviously.

Not reliable, most of the time is a piece of garbage, in one of my experience if the battery goes down completely, it won't recharge if you didn't plug it in within a short time (I am speaking minutes).

Yes if you want quality, you will have to spend extra cash, if you want temporary **** that can even possibly damage your phone, you can buy the China crap.

I have the Samsung 2000 mah, worth every dollar. Brilliant extension of battery life, had it nearly a year and still going strong. Dont bother if your phone is riddled with wakelocks etc, you're better off getting rid of those vs. buying a bigger battery.

What does where they're manufactured have to do with anything - you do realise why they're produced in those places ? (Relatively cheap labour/closer to supply chain).
It's the quality of the manufacture, materials & quality control you're paying for when you buy a genuine battery. And non-genuine batteries are often hit & miss for those reasons.

I fall from the clouds to hear certain things, or more precisely that in many delude themselves that the original samsung batteries are different from those no-brand ...

If you're basing that on personal experience with non - Samsung batteries, I'd be inclined to think you got lucky. More often than not a non genuine battery will be significantly less than claimed capacity, vs Samsung ones which are very close to claimed capacities. I don't bother unless it's genuine now.

Already this is better as a response, the world's manufacturers of batteries can be counted on your fingers, many times non-original batteries can be IDENTICAL ..
in china we know how good they are to do everything

Well FYI buddy I am talking from experience(multiple times) and I am pretty sure MistahBungle is also talking after having several experiences with non-original batteries.
As he said non-original batteries are hit and miss deals.

To suggest all/many/most non-genuine batteries are of the same quality/reliability/at or close to rated capacity compared to genuine batteries is a blanket statement which isn't grounded in fact. Read threads on here/elsewhere & the real world experience is this:-
*99% of people who buy genuine batteries find them to perform exactly as they'd expect (be reliable/durable, able to hold a charge, not overheat, at or near rated capacity), the other 1% (should) get refunds or exchanges.
*Anything up to 30-40% of people who buy non-genuine batteries seem to have issues with them at some point, whether it's right off the bat (as soon as they start using them) or within a reasonable period of time after buying them.
The rub is, if you buy a genuine battery, you know exactly what you're getting almost all of the time, and you can easily get a refund or replacement if you don't get that. If you buy a no-name from little E big B/elsewhere, you may not be able to do that easily. Yes, the battery might perform as you'd expect a genuine battery to (tho very very few end up at the rated capacity on the outside of the battery, I.E rated 3500mAH, you're lucky if you get 2800), but there's a not unsubstantial chance it won't. Which means you have to go thru hassles to get it replace/refunded, and you don't have a spare battery or whatever in the meantime.
So that makes the question, do you want to take that risk ? Me (and lots of other people - you did ask for opinions after all), I'd rather pay the extra $15-$20 & buy a genuine battery (or two or more), or even the extended power pack if you really need a lot of juice & can't get near a power source to recharge (If that was something you did a lot, a 3rd party power 'brick' from a reputable company is worth exploring, as would a solar charger if you spend time outdoors/away from mains power).

I wouldn't pay €40 for a 2000mAh genuine battery, no. I can get them for $30-$35 in Australia which is €25-30. If you shop around online, you may be able to get one near that price if you find somewhere who does cheap or free shipping.
With regard to the longer life, as you'd expect (and this is my RW experience), the 2000mAh battery gives you around 20% more juice/usage.
Edit - If you can get 1650mAh genuine batteries for 13 Euro, why not load up on those ? You could get two & have 65% more juice than the 2000mAh battery and still save €14 (Or are you talking about non-genuine 1650mAh batteries for €13 ?)

it's a big battery...make the phone bigger but it worth if the life of that battery it is abot 2-3 day because i charged my phone every day with te stock one
Did you see the picture on Ebay? It claims that it is the same size as the OEM battery so you DO NOT need to change the back cover. You use the OEM cover

up to now tests showed that no alternate batteries were an improvement if they fit in the standard case. Google for the name of the battery perhaps you find something.
Are you on stock firmware? If yes a modified firmware might be a good idea. With froyo I reached more then 70 hours with low usage. The new GB roms will reach this also in a few weeks I think.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I have in the past bought and tried many, many replacement batteries for SE, Moto, HTC and other handsets and not single one of them clearly exceeded the capacity of OEM ones. Sure those sellers say theirs have 2200mAh or 2300mAh compared to OEM's 1500mAh they seem a lot better, but in realty they are about the same as the OEM at best. The one I have (they advertised as 2200mAh) for my X10 seems a little bit better than OEM. The 2300mAh one on Ebay, at least, doesn't try to copy the look of OEM, and (from my experience) it usually is a good sign of they are better than self-claimed really cheap OEMs you can find everywhere in Ebay. In the end, long battery life is not a forte of android. It's not like we have symbian devices.
As far as I know, "Mugen" replacement battery seems truly better than OEMs, though I haven't tried them personally. They are not cheap, you know.

Symbian battery is PATHETIC. I still have My N97Mini and my N8, alongside my HTC Sensation and SE X10, all heavily tweaked [you can't even tweak symbian that much] and I'll tell you now, its pathetic. Laggy like ****, but the battery wont even last 30 hours in minor usage, and not even 4 hours in hardout. My x10 can last like 4 days in the minimal usage and 10 hours in hardout, but I still carry one extra battery around =]

Just ordered this battery for $34 USD, will post a review when tested in a couple weeks.
I think it will be a good move from my side to search for such a battery. Ebay, i'm coming!

i've been using the 3200 mAh battery from ebay as my x10 battery for the past 2 months or so. It's really good if you don't mind the bulk, i can play psx games on my phone for about 8 hours and be left with 60% of my battery. if i don't use my phone much (just texting occasionally) it lasts about 2-4 days. So far no signs of overheating/blowing up .
(edit: used to be running on demand governor, recently switched to smartass. Battery seems to be doing even better)

If it sounds too incredible, it probably is...
Give it a thought: If the manufacturer of the original batteries would be able to squeeze a few extra hundreds milliamps into the battery without risking the battery security, don't you think they would have from the beginning?
There is always one or more downsides with these "better" batteries:
1: They're fake. in fact, it's only a 1700 mAh battery with a 2200 mAh sticker on it. Placebo warning here! Those reviews from other "customers"? Problably the manufacturer themselves, or payed "customers".
2: They're bigger, so they do need a different cover. These battery claims can be true, more capacity = larger battery. Something has to give in. (In this case: Size), right?
These bigger batteries are okay, as bigger battery means more capacity. You have to give up the slim size here.
3: They removed some or all security features in order to allow "overcharging". That way they can squeeze in a few more mAh in the battery.
The risk of overheating is very real here. There have been cases where such "no security" batteries have exploded, and in some cases even catching fire... while still in the owners pocket. Ouch! That gotta hurt alot.

It depends.
I bought an Anker 1900mah battery (which is roughly around the same as the original 1650mah *personal experience*) and having the 2 batteries that can last me ~14 hours each, I've justified that buying a 2000mah isn't worth it for the price.
If you have the money for it, sure go for it, but if you're kinda chintz like me, go for a cheaper solution.

Of course it does. It has 17.5% more capacity, so you should expect 17.5% longer battery life.
Before you make your decision, I think you should consider buying another spare 1650mah battery instead. It doesn't require a different back battery cover, so you can just carry the battery around and swap it out when required. It'll cost less and you'll essentially be with 3300mah of juice.
But of course, that's if you don't mind the act of swapping the battery mid-day.

Um, yeah 350/1650 = 21 & a bit % higher capacity. I've had one of these for a couple of months and I get around the 20% more zzzzs, etc, etc.
I tried a non Samsung 3500mAh battery which ended up being around 1900mAh based on two weeks worth of testing (not scientific I know, I don't have the equipment to test actual capacity) and more than a few charge/discharge cycles, it used to get hot (~45°C) when charging so I returned it to the place I bought it from.
For the same price as this battery I bought the original Samsung 2000mAh battery. If you can afford it, definitely get one of these. Despite other peoples positive experiences on here with non-Samsung batteries (and I've also seen just as many people who have had similar negative experiences like mine), I'll never buy a non-original battery again.

Manufacturer batteries are guaranteed to do what you pay for, the other ones can vary enormously.
For example 99% of non Sony batteries for the PSP were utter trash, but I did find one company that specialized in replacements and those were about 95% of the Sony originals. But since most non manufacture batteries are sold to numpties who do no research generally it's more profitable to sell rubbish.

If you want the most out off your battery, try under volting your cpu using tegrak overclocking app. This way your bound to last every day with battery to spare even while watching 3 hours off video.

I bought a 7000mAh battery pack from Office Depot (the brand is "IO Gear" but I'm sure there are several such products). It cost about $50. The device itself charges via a mini USB and can charge two devices at once via two USB ports that flank the mini USB.
This may or may not be what you need, but I would suggest checking it out. Not only is the battery capacity very large, but you won't have to buy new batteries every time you get a new device. Plus, it's helpful for charging devices that don't have removable batteries, like the current Nexus line-up.

Aftermarket batteries are a hit and miss thing. Some have great experiences and some just don't. I haven't gone wit any and after the recent events of exploding phones I tend to be a bit more cautious especially if my phone were to explode I want to make sure I have a solid claim with a true Samsung battery. They are little bombs next to our heads (both of them) you know.

I have been using a gold 4200 mah aftermarket battery in my GN 2 for the past year without a problem. It lasts about 15hrs on an average day. Appreciably longer than the oem batteries which serve as my backup. I've used aftermarket batteries in my last 5 galaxy phone without any problem All came from China. They're pretty inexpensive. and ebay protects your purchase.

I 100% agree with this. Never had a good experience.
The only 3rd party manufacturer I trust when it comes to using non Samsung batteries, is Anker, I'll be waiting for them to produce theirs.

Another issue with aftermarket batteries from Chinese MFG's is under-powering. Batteries need to consistently produce more than the required power to run a device, if a battery fluctuates below this threshold throughout the discharge process it can drastically deteriorate and stress many IO components. Memory, the CPU even simple logic IC's. You may not notice it at first but over time it can kill your device. Very important, and often overlooked for a $30 product on Amazon with no clear MFG docs.

YUP YUP, my buddies and I use ankers, I've been using them in my GSII for quite a while, I would "say" they work better than the OEM batteries. At least 2 AZ summers.
I've all ready had two OEM batteries swell up, my anker is still going strong. I got two anker batteries and a universal charger for $20 for my S2. I don't charge my phone on a cord anymore, I just swap in a new battery every morning and put the semi dead one in the charger.
Unfortunately one anker stopped working because I dropped it in the street one drunken night and apparently some bum walking by, picked it up, thought it might have pure gold contacts and apparently scraped it off.

1. why in the capacity it shows only 1650 mAh and not 3500?
2. i feel the battery ends the same as a default 1650 mAh battery.. how possible?

Does your galaxy s2 also get frozen after the battery supposedly discharges? If you keep it until the OS thinks its at zero it will freeze with the screen staying on and sometimes eve nsound playing until the battery really duschrges?
Because a lot of (cheap) non-genuine batteries end up a long way under the rated capacity printed on the outside. You get what you pay for - stick with genuine batteries, you'll get what's printed on the outside.

Use an original Samsung 2000mAh battery, it actually last longer.
Those mAh said by others are fake, and those batteries could even damage your phone by being more and more big with hot and so on. Don't use them, it's just a waste of money :thumbup:

Ok guys, I have it now for more than 2 weeks. Up to now, I'm pretty happy. With regular usage, it can stand for full 2 days.
With intensive use, I consumed the battery within 10 hours with more than 6 hours screen time.
Today, I didn't use the phone much. I removed it from charger at 8:00 am and it's at 94% as of 17:00 pm. Of course this has to do with the rom I use as well. Thickening the phone, yes, but you can forget to constantly looking for a charger during the day.
I don't expect the same performance for more than a year maybe but I have 2 for half the price of 2000mAh original battery.

Hmmm...... I was thinking about buying one of those, what do you recommend ?
Go with the official 2000mAh with extended back cover (the only way it comes) or go for a 'branded' alternative like Anker. Steer clear of anything that 'says' it's Samsung on eBay, and avoid at all costs any replacement that is covered by a gold sticker.......

Of course it's a risk to use uncertified accessories but my phone is now 3 years old. I did not want to spend much money to it as I'll replace it in a couple of years anyway. So, I don't bother whether this battery harms my phone - which is not very likely actually.
If you think the same way, then I'd suggest it.
Many of the threads discussing battery replacements in this section are dispersed and old.
However,
I'm asking for help with updated opinions/recommendations/insights please.
I have a Note 3 (5.0) N9005 - original Samsung battery, and it needs replacement.
Problem: As I have a spigen neo hybrid case, I want a battery that fits into the original note 3 cover.
I am looking for safe bets - companies whose batteries are not risky nor untested by members.
Obviously there is the option of another stock Samsung original - but are there established/safe alternatives that will give me better 'juice' than stock, but still fit in the original cover?
My thanks to any that are willing to share their advice/opinions & contribute.

I just recently bought a anker for my note 3 they are trusted and a very respected company. Look for a anker on amazon for your note 3. Yes it will fit same exact size. I use to have neo hybrid. They give you a warranty as well.

Why did you choose the anker over stock?
On the anker website - there also have customer reviews of each product. Some of the note 3 battery reviews are quite poor?
I chose anker because my brother bought one for his note 4 I already knew of anker and needed a battery, he said it was great. Reviews are hit and miss take them with a grain of salt, I've bought a power add Apollo charger and love it works flawless yet on amazon where I bought it many reviews are negative. Also companies can and do hire people for good and bad reviews. The original battery is hard to find unless you directly contact Samsung they can be rather annoying with customer service with my run ins I've had with them over chargers. Most if not all Samsung OEM for note 3 on amazon are knock offs there fake. If I'm unhappy with the battery I can still return it, they gave me and everyone a warranty, they have good packaging and they only use grade A cells, from what I've experienced and my brother I believe they are great. I'm interested in finding a solution that genuinely gives me an advantage over a samsung oem battery.
Is it true that no oem batteries were produced after 2014?
The manufacture date is printed on the battery. One of the things pushingme away from oem is that they will be 2-3 years old, and kept in storage for a long time.

Thank you for the info, I always thought that any non-samsung battery may run the risk of setting fire to your phone. I'll have to give that one a try

Now, I see that you want a battery that fits the original cover, but many folks here can recommend the ZeroLemon 10 000 mAh battery. I'm using one.
Advantages:
+ comes with a dual layer TPU case with hard plastic shell;
+ you can get 2 to 3 days of extremely heavy usage, 5, if you are moderate, and a whole week with light usage (once did 6 days with 38% battery left, got tired of trying to drain it all the way and charged it, screenshots attached).
Disadvantages:
- the thing becomes really ugly, thick and heavy, you better have big pockets and strong belts. Yes, that's the only disadvantage. Well, if you change SD or SIM cards frequently, that would be a disadvantage too.
After the first calibration charges and discharges of the battery, it takes some 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100%, but 6 hours of charging for 3 days of extreme usage - that's more than a fair deal for me.
I'm in two minds. Oem vs third party.
Problem with oems are, it seems that the last production run was 2014???

First of all I checked my original battery and there is no manufacturing date that I can see, the closest I can come to date is serial number, but no idea how to decode it. Did they put manufacturing date later on?
2. if you want/need original size don't expect big capacity improvements: same size will have similar capacity give or take tolerances and chemistry need to be similar due to charging/ voltage.
3. Especially in the phone which is charged almost daily, number of cycles is more important than age. I have Li ion batteries probably almost 10 yrs old that still work, more or less.
4. There was suspicion that some OEM batt sold around were used and therefore already partially worn out.
5. If you use NFC, make sure the new battery has NFC antenna, some don't and NFC won't work there.
I bought battery called Stalion for about $10, it has NFC antenna, it holds charge as well as new OEM and if it wears out faster than OEM ( so far all's good, 6 months and counting) I'll buy new one for $10, not worth worrying about.
But if Note 6 will be as good as the rumors suggest this is all non issue in 3 months anyway.

Can you give me some more info on no. 4. his is new to me.
When I was looking for OEM batteries on Amazon (some stuff is sold by Amazon partners, not Amazon directly BTW ) some people left comments that batt. they got lasted less than old one they just replaced, some commented that they see scratches, like they were used, some said they didn't get original packaging, another commented that advertising never said those were brand new etc. etc. while others had no problem . Actually if what you said is true about OEM ending production in 2014, all those negative comments begin to make sense. At the end all those negative comments turned me off, to the point I bought off brand (Stalion) and I'm pretty happy with it.
for example here http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-Standard-Battery/dp/B00F3583S8 22% gave 1 star, that's one in five.
I like Anker but little luck with this phone for some reason . One works and other doesn't. The Anker do have NFC. Problem with OEM is that most are fake. Have several of those and 2/3 didn't last a month.
