Just Buy Canvas HD...
Its just Awesome phone...
i am using it from last 1 months..
Bought mine on Tuesday so far no complaint at all. Camera could have been better . I have a hunch that its the software (driver module ) that is behind the dip in camera quality. GPS fix is another part that needs to be looked at. Busy now with work will post a detailed review later this week.

Since the only difference between canvas hd and canvas 4 is the camera, theoretically speaking, all canvas hd roms(without modifying, porting) should work on canvas 4 right?

Directly Flashing won't work.
Hi, the thing is flashing directly won't work. You need to port the ROM even though the Hardware is same of Canvas HD and Canvas 4.
In case you want to learn how to port,this is a nice tutorial.

you have to provide more information about your problem, then only someone can easily assist you.
so my question did you ported the rom from a116? did you replace zimage? did you compared init.rc from a116 with a210?
It'll work. You just need to port it. Just like how canvas 4 was ported to CHD. Try some porting guide like the one posted above.

software decoder mode... for both audio/video it will play full HD smoothly without any lag... on A113 using it for a month now.

I can't be done in the near future. I have seen the the Porting guide and they require kernal source which we don't have.. Still m keeping my fingers crossed

Nothing... Just price is reduced compared to a116 and this was launched with android 4.1.2 and a116i is launched with ansroid 4.2.1

I don't think he meant there's no upcoming update. He merely said no updates for now and to keep watching. But even if they don't release it, I won't be surprised.

Though micromax doesn't release any updates our xda devs won't let our device down.
releasing a stock ROM would take months because it is supposed to be a stock ROM, rock stable and solid.
considering the current progress, it seems that the update won't be available for 2-3 months more.
keep your fingers crossed because there's "no update yet"

Never loose hope. Not a single mediatek device has got kitkat on this earth.. Wait for sometime some time someone or the other OEM will surely release kitakt for their device, because they can't continue forever with jelly bean. Whenever any mediatek device gets it... Our talented devs can port it to our device !! So we will ultimately get kitkat either sooner or later... Lets hope for the best !! Cheers.......
