**NOTE: I am not responsible for damaged devices. **
I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by scott.hart.bti based for the Samsung Infuse. You get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with scott's current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

Instructions for porting Beanstalk
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b cm-10.1'. This will setup the folders to be synced.
5. type 'repo sync'. This will sync the folders to your beanstalk directory. Note - This will take some time depending on internet connection. Be patient!
6. After the repo sync finally finishes, all you need to do is add your device, kernel, vendor specific files for the device you are building for. (You must know what these are, dont bother asking me if your not sure.)
7. Make sure all your device specific files are setup as if you were going to build for CM.
8. Outside of terminal, navigate to beanstalk/vendor/cm. Double click on the get-prebuilts file and select run in terminal. This will fetch necessary files needed to build and place them where they need to be.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

will add this to the roms list

Well, it will be interesting to see when the Google edition is released next month. I'm guessing probably not because Sammy doesn't want to release the code, but we will see. There is a lot of anticipation for this Google edition release!
Be sure to thank Scott too, he is the mastermind behind this rom!

No problem! I don't use the lock ring, always have my widgets full screen. This is just a port so I am not going to change the lock ring in the source (I'm building for all the s4 variants).
But, if you really want to change it, I would suggest building it yourself and changing the image in the source code. I can look through the code to try and find where it is.
pm me if you would like any help!

The lockscreen ring png files are in the framework-res.apk. Under drawable. It'll be like ic_lockscreen_handle and pressed or something like that. Ben awhile since I changed one.

I found it! I'll replace it with the stock CM image. Personally, I wasn't the biggest fan of it either.
EDIT: Put this in /system/framework. It will soft reboot and you will have the stock CM lock ring

I've been on this rom on morning and it's been great. The only thing that doesn't work for me that is making me flash off is that i can't play super stickman golf 2 against people. Google Play Services FC's everytime. I've tried grabbing the latest google play apk and it didn't seem to help. Other that that it's been great. GPS locks instantly with all location settings on too.

I think you mean the notification drawer pulldown? If so then go to:

Weird...yes i did do a full wipe and used the gapps package provided in OP rather than the normal "gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip". Maybe I'll try a different gapps.

I am not responsible for borked phones, your howling cats and dogs, or the weather. If you flash this rom, it is AT YOUR OWN RISK.
And be sure to flash Gapps if you want the play store. Also, I am by no means a developer. And these are initial builds, they will more than likely have bugs. Help along the way is always welcome. And don't forget to thank the sources!

I would like to build using a different kernel but am really still learning, so in time I'll get there. I tried chris41g's 4Aces in my test drive and it was pretty smooth.
Which build was it .... The newest... I use it for fast charge ...I don't over clock I under clock.... I know 5/06 build was giving bootloops on certain ROM builds
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Yes. It would have been the newest 05/06 build that I tried. No bootloops when I flashed it.
I also tried this one and did get a bootloop
http://goo.im/devs/flappjaxxx/i717/kernel/3.0.7
I did not try the Alt version though.
I'm going to charge up battery and give everything a go .. I also had a MMS apk that enables theming backgrounds and font colors that I had from rootbox..seems to be working well ... Thamx for the kernel info .. After I charge up I'll flash it
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Got everything done ...acid mod ..CPU tweaks..5/6 kernel... Everything oa running smooth

This is a port of scott.hart.bti's Beanstalk ROM. This is a build composed off of the CM11.0 builds and with added features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!

Instructions for porting Beanstalk
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b jb43'.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

Edit: three things.
1: this is so nice. Very smooth. No FC's so far, but I just restored my apps. I'll break it in better in the morning
2: purely cosmetic, and I know I can disable it if I wanted to, but the boot animation doesn't take up the whole screen.
3: was gonna stay silent, but ihatewebos just had to thank this post. If it wasn't for that guy, I wouldn't have been so excited for it.
Will this rom make my phone waterproof? If not can you incorporate that feature in a future update? I keep dropping my phone in the toilet. Im on my 16th DNA now. i cant imagine it would be that difficult but im no dev. If not can u at least make it so the phone will float instead of sink to the bottom? Thanks a ton

very nice got it loaded up and running very nice and smooth love all the tweaks and changes , all is working well .. thanks so much
Any screens of this? Thanks.
This is running smoother than I thought it would. 24 hours in I've had no force closes and it's pretty snappy. Figured with all the features it would be a little laggy. Haven't tried the android tweaks yet.
Trying to work in waterproofing. It keeps giving me framework build errors though. Might be included further down the road, unless the original beanstalk dev beats me to it.

The focus issue was a kernel problem that was fixed awhile ago in CM 10.2 and should be fixed in Roms that are using an up to date kernel tree.

Should I flash now or wait for your update with the camera in? (Depends on how much time it'll take for you to get the camera working.)

Can anyone confirm if video recording and Youtube are working?
Thanks patch_Adams! If I just cache and dalvik wipe, then flash this over your preview Rom, and after having backed up Camera and Gallery apks, should I be good to restore those?
Edit: Just checked my downloaded file and I see that camera2 apk is in the Rom. Is a working camera included now?
FYI, Bookmarks don't sync, it did in Alpha (unless I'm doing something wrong)

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM builds and i have added alot of features on top of it.
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

So your interested in Building/Porting for another device?! Follow this guide! **Please make sure to give proper credits and Use the layout i have in the first post.** - If you need assistance, please send me a PM, do NOT post questions in this thread. I may open a general porting/building thread in another section depending on how this goes. You must have some general experience/knowledge in this area to complete this. Building from Linux platforms. In particular Ubuntu 10.04
If you have building/development concerns or issues, Please visit the BeanStalk Development Thread to avoid cluttering this thread.
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

I've got to ask, since this is CM based, Kernels like Franco, Faux and Trinity won't work on this ROM right?

Hold on, PIE? Can someone confirm this?
Edit: noticed it was CM pie, never mind. Can't stand that cms pie compared to PAs
I also really appreciated Beanstalk ROM posted by soupy.
Thanks for this official build that I'm going to flash soon!
Just a question: why do suggest these GApps package? What do they include (or not) compared with Banks or PA GApps for instance?
The customizable item in BeanStalk is nearest most to N4's CarbonRom provided.
I really love this rom, Stock UI, customizable with stock theme, and no FC so far.
Thanks for soupy's thread and now scott's.
Welcome Abode @scott.hart.bti !! Get ready for people flashing this ROM left right and center
Alright is it me...or can someone change their lock screen wallpaper. I see no option anywhere to change it. I feel really dumb right now.. :thumbdown:

Right, I understand that.
I'm asking though is it really 4.3 based Jellybean instead of 4.4? Looking at the dev section on goo, it's listed with the other 3 releases from Soup, so if I can dirty flash that would be nice to know.

you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability.

* Using the new LVM partition setup. Gives us 400 mb /system and additional datadata partition of 350 mb
* DO NOT proceed without reading this first. You may want to remove your external sdcard as there have been a few reports in the past that it messed things up. Safety first! When you go to flash it, it will give you a warning about being incompatible and it will erase your data... You will need to flash it again for it to start to flash. It will reboot and go back into flashing.... It will reboot again and come back to normal recovery screen. From this point, the build is finished installing and you can install GAPPs or any extras you may want to use.
* Kernel optimization as usUntitled Document 3ual
* New BLNnTouchwake package with the LVM partition setup. BLN/Touch Wake Mods (Samsung Infuse4g devices only!) - If you choose to use this package, it must be used with builds with the new partition layout!!!

1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.
oh my god, your the best!
I'll test it right now and report later.

The battery consumption is awesome. And the best of all are the Features, Its Top Notch!
Fast and smooth Slim Recents and properly working Active Display.

Yes. Xtinct26 has already told me about this.
I'll preferably wait for a reports of any other bugs present, if there. And you can expect a update in next two days.
Cheers.
