Hi guys
Just got ahold of a superb white XT910 which I love to bits. However, the default Motoblur overlay seems a little bit dated to me or am I the only one?
As far as the laucnher itself, Apex pro and Nova prime seem to get the consensus on xda. What about lockscreen apps though? Found a bunch of apps that could get the job done and make the lockscreen look better. I was wondering what you gents and ladies who are running JB on the Razr had to say about them.
WidgetLocker would be my prime choice - Holo locker a close second. However before jumping the gun and buying WidgetLocker, I would like to know if it works well with JB : does it run well and not conflict with the stock launcher? Is it responsive enough? how energy efficient is it?
Any input about any other lockscreen app would also be much appreciated :angel:

How I wish I could have the white one, I can't find any white body replacement kit here in India. Can anybody help me get it?
Yeah the white one looks quite the part mate. Got it rather cheap too, i'm definitely pumped up about this phone ! Need to get some stuff sorted and then it'll be absolutely perfect :victory:

Holo Locker
Alright, so I just went through the last couple pages from the WidgetLocker development thread, and it looks like the app hasn't received any major update for a long while now and people are having issues with it. Looks like I'll be giving Holo Locker a try, plus it's free so what the heck :silly:
You could give go locker a try,works pretty good for me,also free with lots of themes.

Thanks for your input mate. I considered Go Locker, however I'd rather use another launcher so that's why I did not mention it.

For those who like Htc home launcher here is a modded version to work on the samsung vibrant. simple and works great . its an apk . just install it.

its not a real Sense Home, and as far as I know we don't have Rosie
What are the two wigets that are on this launcher?? There are two on here but it says trouble loading them, which ones are they in the market?

There's no widgets included? Could be residual . Needs to be cleaned up a bit.

Love it! Anyway to tweak it? Such as having the app drawer scroll like LauncherPro? Maybe extending spaced between icons a bit? I'm having some apps have word wrap issues.

Unfortunately, I have no clue how to edit I was curious if anyone on this forum would be able to do such a thing? If so , I would be willing to donate for it.
Like many of you guys, I really appreciate the benefits of a nice big clock widget. And I find the time on the application bar to be very redundant. I would like to see an option for that to be disabled in any of the newer upcoming roms. It will save precious space

Personally I like having the time there. That way when I'm doing something like browsing the web I can still see what time it is. Comes in handy when I'm on my lunch break.

yeah, there will definitely be instances when you'd want the time there. i think an option to display it on and off would be very handy

I have been rocking a white notification bar since day 2... I got the date and notifications text black... Whenever I edit the clock it fc loops..

It would be great if the time display in the menu bar could be dynamic. When in an app have it display, when on the home screen, have it hidden.
What power widget is that? Definitely more useful than the android one.
I got the gauge battery and the switch pro widget. Highly recommend it. There are many different configurations.

it's fairly straight forward to remove yourself if you like. If you check this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780614 There's a walkthrough. But be aware on the SGS the line item numbers for the clock and alarm are different than what he shows in that thread.

Hey guys,
Sorry for the bunch of questions in recent days. I'm new a this while being fairly compulsive. Ok so let's make use of the ability to make screen shot. In the picture below, apps on the left are from stock touch wiz, and the second set of icons (more to the right) are from the TW SIII mod from pale horse. As you can see, apps on the right have much more space between them then on the left. Is there anyway for me to make it so apps on the right have the same space between them than apps on the left? It is very obsessive of me I know.

Install the Apex launcher. Then you can change the grid of your desktop to any spacing that suits you.

What did you do to fix this?
Another thing Apex can do is let you resize icons. Maybe that could help?
And you know the CDO picture was strictly a joke - not trying to do anything here but assist.

I use SSLauncher, and do whatever I like with the homescreen(s). Spacing, resizable widgets, etc.... SSLauncher=freedom!
from the looks of your photo something was changed other then just icons. your homescreen indicators and wallpaper dont line up. you can try changing your screen density to something larger to fill in the gaps. stock is 320. i use apex like ranger recomended and hide icon labels then change grid size. i use 8x5 and this makes all my icons very close(i also use text for icons rather then pictures). you should play around with it. pro version also lets you resize and overlap widgets so you can get icons close but still have widgets look like they should.
I'm currently having a play with nova launcher, and have to admit I'm liking it more than stock!

Does ok Google command from home screen waste battery?

I like simplicity therefore I am using Action Launcher with Axis icon pack. I especially like cover/shutter indicators.
Nova is the best for me! Highly customizable, light, and very practicle !

Hey Gibbo,
I have Nova Launcher but on the HTC One M8. I've used it on this phone and my previous one as well (LG G2). I think it's EXCELLENT and that you've made the right choice in trying it out. Usually the stock UI isn't as good, though I've never tried Sony's really (but am a huge Sony fan). I almost bought the Z2 but b/c of the big delay got the M8 instead. I would say you prob should just stick with it since you like it so much too.
I don't think it uses much battery, but I'd suggest turning on your phone's battery saving options (anything that turns off data when screen is off and vibrations is best, but I leave brightness dimming and CPU slow-down alone). I don't really have any settings recommendations as the default setting to me is just fine. The only thing I do is change the layout from 5 x 4 to 6 x 5, so I can fit more apps on one screen. To do that: settings --> desktop --> desktop grid.
I tried the Ok Google option for a few days when it first came out a month ago on my phone. I don't know about battery wasting, prob not. What I do know is it seemed to turn on even when I didn't say "Ok Google"..... like if I or someone in the room said "Ok" I'd hear it beep. So I turned it off. lol But up to you. I'm more hands-on, so it wasn't really for me anyway.

I actually like the dark ones - very elegant! To each his own I guess!
I have the green wavey one on my lock screen, that being said I'll probably swap it eventually because the white spots when viewed from and angle keep freaking me out that part of the display has gone bad. I'm partial to the geometric android stock wallpapers and I found and app called plastexo in the app store that has some intersting 2d vector style designs.
I changed mine within minutes of getting the device...

If think this is kinda funny. This is the first And only phone I have not changed the home screen yet. Lock screen yes. I think the stock home is just so simple yet elegant. Everything just pops off the screen.. Ive tried to make black backgrounds over the years but never liked them. This one. I like..?
