[Q] Apex Launcher transparent status bar - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

The latest version of Apex Launcher in the Play Store added support for transparent status bar.... I can't figure out how to enable it. Anyone know?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

Open the apex settings screen and you should find it under the homescreen settings page about half-way down. It says that it might require root. I just tried it and it works for me. I am rooted, so I cannot address the unrooted case.

yep, its there, I have Apex v2.0.3 free and its there. The transparent status bar looks better for the Galaxy S 4 on Nova.

I've installed, uninstalled and all. I'm rooted running CM10.1. Not seeing it. Ahh well.

Odd... I have stock rooted and paid version of Apex. I see it. Homescreen Settings > UI Options. I see these 4 items:
Use tablet UI mode
Transparent notification bar (says may require root access)
Show persistent search bar
Search bar style

I think it is because you are CM10.1. I am not positive, but the way I see it is the CM10.1 makes it so your phone isn't a Galaxy S4 in a sense. So maybe Apex is seeing that you aren't a Galaxy S4. Not sure, but just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll have yo figure out if there's a way to have my device report as being a GS4 and see how that goes.

Hello everyone! I have exact same problem.

Help
:crying: Guys i am using xperia Z
No such option under home screen setings
pls help
i need it....
Thanks in advance

I'm using HTC One with sense 5 and Apex Launcher Pro v2.1.0. The setting is there for transparency under 'Homescreen settings' but when I press it I get a pop up "Root access unavailable or denied". So, settings there but doesn't work for me, not rooted. Seems weird seeing as sense 5 by default has a transparent bar yet I need to be rooted to use this feature.

Homescreen wrap around?

Wasn't sure how to word this...I'm looking for an app/tweak that allows the home screens to reach the end and automatically go back to page one. Like it does when your on the applications pages.
I'm not rooted (yet) if this helps.
No need to root, just update to the latest update using kies. It is a feature of the latest version.

I used Kies and it says I'm on the latest update (2.3.4) and when I reach my last home screen I have to swipe back to the first one.
You could just try another launcher, for example go launcher has an option which lets you scroll screens circularly.

I could but I like samsungs actually. If they have enabled it I would like to have it working.
You've got two options then, wait till your carrier pushes the update or root and get the updated touchwiz.

Ok, thank you. Do you happen to have a quick link to the updated version?
You could always use TouchWiz 4.5? It's the stock launcher with tweaks (endless scrolling, themes, 3D app drawer etc.)

[Req] Notifications on lock screen

I was wondering if anyone would be able to create a mod for the galaxy note 2 lock screen that shows notifications. They don't need to be clickable, but it'd be useful so you can see your last couple of notifications.

Same as linked above and i said that its unsuitable as this won't work on the samsung lock screen. Samsung lock screen can't have widgets on it. I'm looking for a modification to the current lock screen. Widgets won't work as you can't run widgets on the lock screen and i don't want to use a different lock screen as i like the current samsung one.
Simple don't use the Samsung lock screen just use Widget Locker to over ride the Samsung lock screen this is what I'm using with mine.

Floating Notifications....app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.floating.notifications I ran into this the other day and thought wow this works really well espcially for mycolorscreen set up i have curretnly with no status bar or anyting was really liking, i believe this is to replicate the "holo" feature on cm rom's you guys tried this what do you guys think??
So ive seen this out for a while now, and thought it was some cheesey knockoff version of Holo. I said to myself why waste my time. Then seeing this thread, and being bored I just gave it a go. Boy am I glad I did, ive run AOSP roms with holo and its still nothing compared to this. This is like simple multitasking amd they can be hidden whenever! Much better!
Thanks for being the one to make me finally try this out!

Been running it since build 2...big fan. It's great for quick views of emails/text etc when watching a movie or playing a game without having to exit and go to the app directly. You can view the header and then decide if you want to respond or not.
Really good find. can't wait to play with this
I made a youtube video about this when it was in beta stage. The developer is in the android apps and games forum. This is good stuff even for people that arent rooted.

Put myself in hot-reboot city last night. Enabled this in accessibility, rocking Beans 18 and AOSP lock screen - just started hot booting to the lock screen. Touch the lock - cycle repeats. Pulled the notification bar to get into settings and turned it off. It stopped.
I'm guessing AOSP lock screen + Xposed status bar + this checked in accessibility = no bueno.

Same exact set up (minus xposed status bar) and had the same issue with rebooting. Issue started 5 minutes after installing the app and allowing accessibility. Issue stopped after I deleted the app. Gonna try to see if I can change a few things to get it working.

The issue is AOSP lockscreen and Accessibility settings. If you're on standard TW lockscreen, there are no problems. Had the same issue with LightFlow previously.
The only thing I have a problem with, and its probably something that cant be fixed is when I get the bubble on the lock screen and click on it ot doesnt unlock. Any fix for this?

click it and then click the actual text it self should pull the app up or the notification up... if i remember right

Good to know.
I assumed as much, but I love the AOSP lock screen. No lock/pattern AND music controls. Plus, the clock looks cleaner.
How well does this app work without accessibility turned on? Or does it? I flipped it on at about 2 am and messed around for about 15 mins before I started my trip to Las Bootsville, so I didn't get any notifications then.

Is there a way to make a widget persistent?

Is there any way to make a selective widget, like the DuckDuckGo widget, persistent in the place of the Google search widget? I ask this because the Google search widget that is persistent doesn't take up a complete grid like it would if I was to add the DuckDuckGo widget to every page at the top.
Adding the DuckDuckGo widget drops everything down much further, even with another grid space added on Nova, than just having the persistent widget does.
I saw with Lightning Laughed you could "pin" a widget in place and it is almost like using a persistent widget, in that it stays in the same place as you scroll through homescreens, but its still very very different. I have also seen Overlays but that is completely different as well.
So is there any way to modify Nova, and of the other launchers, or a ROM to use the DuckDuckGo widget as persistent instead of the Google search bar?

I've been researching for the past couple of days and the closest thing I have been able to find is Lightning Launcher. Sadly that isn't even close to what I'm wanting. I'm going to keep looking and see if I ever run across something, which looks doubtful at this point...
Sent from my SCH-I605 using XDA Premium HD app
Apparently SS Launcher allows pinning as well, I am currently emailing the Dev and discussing persistent widgets but I don't have much hope because he doesn't seem to know what I am talking about or the differences.
I am going to start looking for a way to edit it but I'm not very hopeful I'll find a solution.

Not at all, the ssLauncher Dev has no idea what I a, talking about, he doesn't speak English as his first language so its extremely hard for me to explain things to him. I eventually gave up.
I've heard that the Dev responsible for Action Launcher adds just about anything his users ask for so I am going to email him later today and see if he can and would add that. Ive been trying to figure this out for quite a while and no one knows anything about it and the few that do, I've found 2 people who supposedly know, don't want to explain what edits need to be made.
I'll post back when I get dome talking with the Dev over Action Launcher!

OK..totally noob question...How do you clear launcher defaults? I thought that was just automatically done when you choose the new launcher and select "always" after hitting the home button but I see you have it as a seperate step. I'm coming form nova launcher which I use because I like to have seven app icons on my home screen alonf the bottom.
From your google+ page, I see that you have this affected on your new nexus by setting dpi to 240. I'm hoping this works with the kitkat launcher.
Thanks again!

Thanks. That does fix the problem on Liquid Smooth:
UPDATE 1: Google Search Force Close fix:
Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, for me I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search.
