International or US HOX+ - HTC One X+

Hi All,
Been loving my hox for some time. It's an international gray, and just solid and perfect... I'd like to get a Plus - but so far the only one I've held had two issues:
- If I pressed on the screen on the corners even a little it would show shadowing add if the glass screen touched the screen... My hox doesn't do that..
- didn't like the black coating as it was prone to fingerprints...
Is there a grey hox+ with LTE? Maybe elsewhere in the world than the US?
Thanks much

No there is no grey color.....the international comes in two colors black(sexy) and white.....if I am not wrong AT&T US model doesn't have white....

Thanks Danny - much appreciated. Black only for the US (LTE). Gotta have my LTE. I realized yesterday after much fiddling with apk's that the non-LTE versions can't get AT&T visual voicemail either - so black it is

[Q] Modifying the Physical Appearance of the HTC HD2 Device

I like the buttons on the European/Asian HD2 much more than the TMO-US model. They are slightly more subtle and arguably elegant. I personally think that the Red and Green call keys make the device look dated. I also hate how the US Phone has the T-Mobile branding on the top. Anywho, enough chit chat.
Is it possible to replace the physical keys on the device to the white ones on the European models? Better yet the T-mobile branding? I know this is a bit out there, but I really like my phone a lot and will be living with it presumably for the next 1.5 years. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance my XDA brethren.

i cant agree with you more on everything that you've said.
1) I am from US and I HATE the hideous tmobile logo. It, sadly, is a deal breaker for me.
2) The buttons are red and green! Get-outta-heah!
3) That extra long chin on the bottom of the american HD2? FUGLY.
I've thought about it many, many times about how much I think i am missing using a EURO hd2 on an american t-mobile line. Does it suck that I don't have data? yes. Do I care much about it though? no. I have no need for it as of now since I have wifi at work all day. And I cant be using my hd2 while on the freeway while I commute. so really im not missing out.
I've had many thought about getting a US hd2, and swapping the screens (To get rid of the logo) and the hardware keys. I've done my research on hd2's disassembly via photos and videos. Unfortunatly, getting to the hardware keys is probably the last thing you'll get ino order to swap them out. That means, you'll have to disassemble almost you're entire phone to get to it.
The screen is also difficult. Can't remember though. But yeah.
ive not seen a single swapped out hd2 of american with euro.
i'd love to see one. i think it'd be great.
my hd2 has a chin? I thought only the hero came with a chin?

man, y'all are some nitpicky people.
I'll keep my red and green buttons, and how dare t-mobile brand their phones which they subsidize!!!!
I'll also keep my 4-5mbps data speeds and my double memory of the euro hd2. Only games go on my sd card.

Newely manufactured vibes - screen issues still?

When I got my Vibrant shortly after release the screen had a blue color cast to it. Many others had similar problems. Is this issue still prevalent in phones that have been manufactured in the last month or so?
I'm thinking about trying to press T-Mobile for a replacement Vibrant due to the GPS always being awful, and I don't want another blue screen. I already traded up my original for one that had a more color-balanced screen.
Thanks!

I'm not sure you are referring to the issue that made the screen gradually faded to a lighter color on one side, that was a software issue fixed on recent ROM releases.
99% have that tint? Ive never seen it in real life... Mine is normal, no yellow/blue tint, I got it at release day.

I don't think I am that blind compared my screen to a new sg2 I don't see the yellow or blue ting I purchased mine Aug 3rd. Is anyone who purchased their SGII in North America having this issue or is it just the first release batch outside of North America that is having this problem? Some on asked for a screen shot so we can all see what your looking at how about it.

you know what they say thou beauty is in the eye of the beholder , so im guessing most people either a don’t notice it , or b simply live with it.
I showed my first phone which was quite bad to numerous people some people spotted it straight away and was shocked like me, others didn’t but did notice it when pointed out, but said they could live with it on another note they all noticed the pink spot instantly anyhow .....
I’ve had 2 now both from different batches and awaiting third tomorrow ive checked the device out in numerous shops and they all had it to various degrees along with smear / ghosting text (which not many people seem to complain about). Reminds me of when Sony released there flagship tv the x3500 followed by the led version the x4500 both of these flagship tvs had smear / ghosting. This was acknowledged as a draw back of that technology as the panel needed to warm up.
However Samsung haven’t said anything in relation to this i.e. if its a fault or a drawback with the technology which leaves most people who are unhappy with there device swapping it endlessly looking for a perfect / working model free from yellow tint or pink spot when in reality there is no such device.
thanks bcoz of ur replays.
but today i c one of my friends that have sgs2 and they sgs2 have not this issue )
i root and install cm7,criscelo,Villain,litening but i never c yellow issue in left side
NOW I AM LOOKING FOR A NEW SGS2 WITH OK LED :d
THANKS

You can replace the screen a million times, the software is the culprit... the issue has been fixed by Samsung. They adjusted the screen sensors to distribute evenly the light intensity.
Fun test for yawl... If you find the "tint" noticeable... Go to display settings, turn OFF the option that says "Auto adjust screen power"
viola.
No more tint.
however, only a true black pixel is "off" now, and battery might suffer, I haven't played too much with it, but I noticed it.
It is a software issue, but the reason some people see it more often than others, is simply the color of the images and text that they display on their screen more often. OLED will always have "warmer" tones than a standard LCD, you can tweak the software to cool them, but they are noted for VIVID color, not accurate color

[Q] AT&T SGNote-Screen Mode missing?

I finally checked out the SGNote today in an AT&T store for an hour (both it & a case fits in my pockets & feels fine in my hand/s but the huge screen is startling at first then I started getting used to it) but they did not yet make the S-Pen available to play with (fearing people would steal it I guess).
One thing I did not see was Settings->Display-Screen Mode->"Dynamic, Standard, Movie"?
A Google now turned up:
http://phandroid.com/2012/02/18/samsung-galaxy-note-review/
"One of things sadly missing from the Note (and is present in the Epic 4G Touch) was the Screen Mode option in the display settings. Not exactly sure why all Samsung SAMOLED devices don’t have this option but it was disappointing to see this left out of the Note. Being able to turn down/max out the amount of color saturation on your SAMOLED device is one of the best ideas since.. well, SAMOLED."
WTF? Why? -Thanx
AT&T...Need I say more? Why they can't just leave any phone alone is beyond me.

Why would you want a gs3 anyway? The screen is really bad, the white looks like blue! I'm hoping the rumored HTC One X + comes out soon for T-Mobile.

and that blue saturation thing can be fixed if you use a kernel with voodoo color control in it
For the record, that 1900mhz is being deployed at the moment, currently active in my area, so what network it's from shouldn't matter soon.

It works for my area even though it's att, I don't see the blue saturation on my friends s3. Also even though I don't like touchwiz there is cm9. No way you can tell me it's not the best phone out right now. Then again I guess that's what opinions are for.

I wish 1900 was active in my area (NJ/NYC), but it isn't. It's only active in a handful of places. If it was, I would have the One X already. I went to the T-Mobile store with cash in hand ready to pay full price for the gs3. My Amaze is good, but the short battery life is frustrating. I also would love a larger screen. After holding the two phones side by side, I cannot get past the blue screen when it should be white. Open a web page and compare the backgrounds of the Amaze or One X to the Gs3 and it is painful. I decided to suffer with my Amaze until HTC or someone else releases a new flagship with a great battery and a screen that shows white as white. Please be the One X+!!!.

I think the device in store had issues, I have a tmo s3 that's as white as white can be, no blue tint what so ever, so you should check back, even have em check the device you get specifically before you leave the store to be sure it's okay, mine is, well, PERFECT.
And I'm in NYC, it's not covering the entire NYC area as yet but my area is, so eh that's good enough for me.

I have checked multiple s3s from all the carriers, it's all of them. I am not imagining this, its a well documented problem. Just Google Galaxy s3 blue screen. If I had never seen the screen on my Amaze or the One X, I could probably have lived with it. But having seen what a proper display looks like, I can't bear to own an inferior product, even with its other advantages that I crave. For some people its not a big deal. I wish it wasn't a big deal to me, because other than the screen, the gs3is awesome!
Where exactly in NYC do you get 3g on 1900? I have some unlocked world phones I want to go test!! Thanks for the info!
Edit- after reading some of those posts I found on Google, it seems someone has found a solution to the problem.

The easiest way to spot the blue tinted background is to open the browser to google, then hold the.phone next to an HTC or other brand with a good LCD display also on Google

I know what blue tint he's talking about, it's one of the things I hated most on my S2 and the Nexus had the same issue, though not so bad due to the higher pixel density but it was still there and when the screen was dimmed it got purple-ish, but as I said, the S3 totally changed that, that's why I give Sammy props on the screen quality, even the gorilla glass is flawless, two weeks without a screen protector and not a single nick, the first things I did when I first received my S3 was do the black background test like on the s2, it passed flawlessly, did the grey background test, same thing, did the play store test (my own personal observation/test I use), aced that as well, then I did the blank/black picture test, same result, I dimmed the screen to the lowest, blacks were still black, clean and well saturated, crisp cand clean, I even did the HD video test from the youtube app, it walked all over it, even though the pixel density is down a few pixels compared to the nexus, I have to say the screen is the best I've seen in a long time, hands down.

didnt have a nexus, but i did have an s2 for a few days and was disappointed i had to send it back because of the lines and blobs issue. this is my first REAL experience with a sammy phone and im not disappointed at all. your experience makes me feel a bit better about going with the amaze, but honestly, after almost 2 months with the s3, htc is going to have to REALLY impress me to get my money again. word is, sammy is working on the next GED nexus and im leaning towards it as my next phone.
either way, the screen on the s3 is untouchable imo. hell, even dedicated htc fanboy GG returned his one s to get the s3. to me thats saying something about how awesome the s3 is. if anyone is considering it, grab and you wont be disappointed :highfive:

The display issue on the s2 was the reason I left it for the amaze, the nexus was nice but I wasn't too big a fan then, when I went back to it before the s3, well it suited my basic needs since I just lost interest in fancy hardware and features, lol only reason I got the s3 was cause my buddy didn't like it so I gave him my nexus for it since he wanted back the nexus and well I'm so far satisfied, none of the old s2 or nexus issues/slack offs and well I don't use my phone much for anything but the basics to really care after running all my test and checking the device out.
I just want JB now and it's complete, though well my phone is so damn smooth I don't think I'll notice much of a difference.
