Friends,
Help me, I am using Xperia Ray.
How to Configure CPU Control in my Ray.?
Is there any way to improve performance of phone using CPU control?

I use Xperia Ray and
For rooting:
I used eRoot, you literally connect your phone to PC and pres ROOT
Before that you have to enable USB Debugging in Settings->Developer Options.
After four green circles get checked your phone is rooted
For CPU control:
I installed Custom ROM and there i have "no frills CPU control" installed. I don't recommend you to do overclocking or do anything with your processor because you can brick and mess up your device if you don't know what you'r doing.
Also, man already answered, you can download do frills from playstore
If i helped you, please don't forget to hit Thanks button
Cheers
Google link for eRoot, I'm still not able to post links

If you want to decrease lag raise the minimum frequency. Overclocking does absolutely nothing except making your phone hotter and processor life shorter

With overclock you are not 100% right with 1 ghz oc on ics some times i get scroll lagg and apps opens slower and with 1,4 ghz oc phone works perfect.

The benefits of overclocking are still minimal.

if you just want to reduce the lag , use SeederEntropy app , It's AWESOME !
*requires Root Permissions*

Hope It'll help

CpU control lets u control ur phone cpu and its frequency and volatage.
increasing max freq. will increase speed but consume more battery.and risk of burning is also noteable.
so set it after doing research on ur cpu and itr limit.
and u need to be rooted and have a kernel to accses cpu

im using stock kernel. Can i overclock without flash custom kernel?

cpu max frequency automatically set to 122mhz only !! *help*

i have a problem don't know if it's related to my custom kernel i use inteks v15 , my neo some times randomly sets it's cpu maximum frequancy to as little as 122mhz only !!
max freq = 122mhz
min freq = 122mhz
and it happens randomly i mean RANDOM !! the device just becomes so laggy even the simplest stuff become laggy and i have to reset the maximum allowed cpu frequancy again to 1401mhz using sexperia to make the device act normal again !
hope some one can clear this up for me......

inteks v15 i first noticed this after installing launcher pro but i doubt it has anything to do with this cpu throttling problem
try to unistal that app :/
Maybe you are using 2 similiar cpu frequency changing app.
Uninstall all cpu apps and clear data all those apps.

Same here, but I think that taaviu is right. I have ROM Toolbox and CPU Tuner installed, both can set the cpu.

That's my point.
I use cm7..there is built-in already cpu setting and when I use setcpu and 2 more cpu apps, then I get terrible laggy phone.

does your phone throttles it's max frequency to 122mhz automatically and randomly too ?
also i only got setxperia , i.e no other cpu controlling apps , i may have installed setcpu before but i deleted it long ago before i start using setxperia !!
what do you think ? what could be the cause of this maybe some one can help us more ?
thanks all !
You don't lose anything if you uninstall setxperia.
And if problem after that dissapears...

Here this has happened to me also
So there all right uninstall all apps that change CPU. And if any use just setcpu
If it's happens just a few times then no lasting damage just the fact it may not wake up for a bit but hitting power button fast sorts that just dont set these apps to run at boot and you should have no bother sorry just seen ya post n though ad say
Peace

This sounds like memory problem.
1,4Ghz is enough for playing.
What governor your using?

i tried the ondemand and the smartass... and i still have the interactive and scarry that i still did not used.. about their differences on each governor, im not really quite sure... but hey..memory problem? hmm...so you mean to say that xperia neo should be enough to play this game? if yes..whats the problem with my phone?! huhuhu... i d have super box to free memory and cache mate forroot caches..hmmm... any way to help me dude?
@taaviu.. bdw, i did a fresh flash of fxp047.. still the same... cannot really play this game... if really memory problem..how to solve dude..any help please.. looks like if i cannot play this game..maybe other HD games .. I cannot play too?
Did you tried another HD games?

I would say ondemand because we don't want the devices to be capped to a certain frequency because that would hurt race to idle, and smartass just sucks.
ondemand is best

Yes out of the list you have, ondemand is the best for battery.
Yep I use ondemand too...guys question. what overclocking app do you use? I have Xperia Arc S w/ 1.4Ghz that can be maximized to 1.6Ghz...can I ask what is the recommended maximum and minimum Ghz That I should use?? And when in idle mode what Ghz do you set yours? THANKS!

In my opinions, you should set the maximum and the Minimum as your rom support, and the idle should be about 600~800 or 1Ghz as you wish

This is because not all things are equal. IT is really device dependent. Some can handle it and some cant.

ROM ToolBOX Pro and I717 CPU frequency

I just discovered for myself the CPU utility shows max CPU frequency as 1188MHZ. Is there something wrong with my CPU or is it ROM Toolbox's fault?
Thanks!

I use ROM toolbox a well for many thing including cpu speed... For me I'm can go all the way to 1.89 ghz.... Have you governed the cpu elsewhere? Also what ROM u using? I'm on aokp

the max that the rom toolbox sliders will go depends on the kernel you are using. Run and oc kernel and you can safely run at 1.86.

Did u set the cpu in rom toolbox and settings/performance/cpu? If u set both depending on the rom/kernel ya might have some weirdness.
Been using rom toolbox for almost a year, or whenever sasibob did her review on the main portal. The apps solid.

Thanks for your responses, guys. I was on Gingerbread stock. Now I'm on ICS stock and it goes all the way to 1500. Pardon my ignorance, what's oc kernel?
Overclockable...
Meaning there would be options higher than 1.5 .. And the frequency options would depend on the modules put in by the dev

Just check out Kernel Tuner *root* on Play Store. It has an option for GPU Overclocking. I have tested it on my Xperia S ( Adreno 220 ) and it works fine Haven't tried it on my mini though.
actually theres none xperia mdpi or hdpi kernel with oc gpu. adreno205 simply cant be oc.
the discussion to oc it is since the desire hd days, but none succeeded with good result.
raising the gpu freq manually in kernel source made phone lag.

Thanks a lot. Didn't know that. For OP - if you want better 3D performance, just search for new adreno libs and flash via CWM. Also, add this line to build.prop - debug.gr.swapinterval=0
This uncaps your FPS limit by telling the GPU not to wait until the entire screen loads. Many people say that this causes tearing of the screen image but it works absolutely fine on our Xperia 2011 range. It gives you a massive boost.

I dont rly care about battery life! I have a Samsung i5800 (Galaxy3) and its CPU on default as i can rembember 688Mhz ... i use it on 1,4ghz...and theres no any overheat! So i think i cant fry the cpu!So i want to overclock my X10i...btw are there any way to overclock the GPU (Adreno 200) too?

Its possible!--" I saw someone have 1401Mhz CPU speed....
Try go search all X10 kernels... Look at all the kernels' functions / features...
You might find out your ideal kernel and overclock your X10i to 1.4Ghz...
But honestly, you don't need so fast speed on this phone...
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
If the led turns white and the phone reboots, then the frequency is to high.
Highest I've seen was 1228 but not many chips can run that fast for long.
I stay at a stable 1190.
