Can anybody port the leak of Android 4.3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

Android 4.3 leak is design for Qualcomm SoC. Galaxy S3 runs into a Samsung Exynos 4 SoC. Without documentation about it (by Samsung), no chance to port this ROM on Galaxy S3.
Sry !

it is just hours since the release of that leak. though it is for S4! to port it to S3, it takes lots of time and lots of developers brain. don't just hurry buddy. waiting for sometime is better than hurrying.

There is a thread in the general section. This isn't the right place for questions like yours.
We know as much as you, it's on the way.
If you are bored play around with custom roms, otherwise you will just have to be patient like the rest of us

I've read on several sites, that the JB will be rolled out by the end of this month or early september, the new rom is in his testing fase by Samsung.

Tab 2 rolling official Jelly Bean, will this help developers

The heading is self explanatory. Maybe a port?

We won't get anything official from Samsung but we have had CM10 (JB based) for awhile and are rumored to get CM10.1 which would be the latest.

Don't believe so, as the tab 2 has different hardware from the first gen tab.
But our developers are doing a great job at providing us with some of the latest, something Samsung cares-not about.

[Q] if the pers kernel is a port from the s3 i9300 then can we also port their 4.2.1

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
What does 4.2 have that you want?
I never found 4.2 to be any better than 4.1 and on my nexus it was a step backwards imo.
Other than new gapps which you can flash anyway, what was new? Not talking noise, just curious?
We already have 4.2.2 asop. Do you mean their stock? Yeah its possible.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
The OP's talking about touchwiz 4.2.1.
Honestly, I think were a ways off. The S3 came out almost a year ago and theyre just now getting it. We need a leak atleast made for the international note 2 to get it

[Q] If our developers can why can't samsung

If our developers can why can't samsung?
Hello XDA Users,
I'm just wondering if our developers can build a rom which updates our devices to Ice Cream sandwich (Android 4.0) why can't samsung because of our limited hardware specifications? But how can our developers do it then...?
I was told our developers are waiting for two files from Broadcom for ice cream sandwich?
Answer the following questions:
1. Can Samsung update the Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i to Ice Cream Sandwich or are they being lazy?
2. When will developers release Ice Cream Sandwich on our Galaxy ace GT-S5830i?

No, because the ICS have to be bugfree if everybody is using it, and it has to be full Touchwiz UI. The ICS from the developers can't be bugfree so it can't be public for all users.

there is no ics rom for our device...
all we have is ics themed/styled custom rom..
i remember someone mentioning that ics requires armv7 cpu and more ram and rom..
that is why samsung is not releasing ics for acei..

If Samsung wanted to release ics or jb for this phone they could have, but this phone wouldn't even be able to take it.
Anyone, XBOX360 With me?

It could handle it, but how good is debatable. Look at the reg ace. It has quite a few ics and jb roms which it runs quite well at least in my opinion when I used them. Acei has an extra 32mhz compared to reg ace. Also it is said a better gpu,if its true potential could be cracked. Just waiting on Broadcom, if they do release the drivers we could see just how good our little, acei could handle it.

So that's why regular ace gt-s5830 has ics custom roms and can run them much better then you think. But i'm not here to argue. I've seen it dude, used it, felt it....

Theyre cm, pac, and aokp based. Just talented devs here at xda made them. I dont mean to sound cocky. Theyre quite amazing though.

The devs optimized ICS and JB to use not too much RAM and internal space. And it isn't bugfree, is it? Samsung have to release a smooth, bugfree and full ICS/JB with Touchwiz UI. So, it would take more RAM than our device and more internal space.

Your correct, its not from sammy themselves. But it does work good and is only getting better. Still wish i had that device to test them again.

I prefer to have an ICS/JB Styled Rom with a lot of internal space and RAM, than an official ICS/JB ROM with 10 mbs of internal space.

And it still runs games on high graphics with an ease.
This phone is a mid-range phone of Samsungs now,and mid-range phones are good(while the high-end ones are excellent).

Hello mates. I am a proud owner of a galaxy S3 LTE. Is anyone willing to give it a go on the i9305? Are there any news on this? I think the device would be more than capable of running it smoothly as does the S4.

I don't think, first Note 2 need to receive Lollipop and after this probably your dev's will starts to port the rom for your phone. But from S4 to S3 is impossible,is 2 different phone.

I don't think that's a good reason. There have been ports from other different models in the past. You always need to apply the proper drivers when you are porting from one phone to another so I guess the limitations will be the same whereas you are porting from the S4 (which to me makes more sense as performance wise the S3 LTE and S4 are similar) or the Note 2.

All models of S3 have the same chipset (Exynos 4412), it is not possible to port S4's lollipop to S3 since there is a difference between chipset (ram....etc doesn't matter)..... Other roms like a note 4 rom (for example) are based on a port from another device with the same chipset.....
Good News is Note 2 is going to get lollipop as Samsung Poland confirmed it, so S3 (i9300 and i9305) will get a touchwiz lollipop update:good:
