Not sure why I had issues but I had to roll back the version. It looked great when I first installed it but I took a trip to a store in Austin and ugh what crap. I'm glad I had Waze to get me through!
It would force close between switching from maps to nav in portrait mode then every time I would turn the screen off it would be back to the choose route step. I don't know if it was me continually restarting the app but it chewed up my battery about 40% in 45 minutes!
Now I'm afraid to update it via play.

Holy ****balls! The new maps is amazing! Never has maps ever pinpointed me like this. And the polygonal buildings are pretty damn accurate . thanks a grip dude!

Thanks for the heads up, Been avoiding the update, having installed it now ,wow what a difference ,way better graphics, but it will take some getting used to.

i have 7.0.2 installed, what is the difference?
7.1 is on Google Play market.....
Is this not available in Play store or is anything different?
I like the new graphics, BUT I'm not a fan of the new shortcuts and menu and alternative routing options.
Maybe I'm resistant to change, but I prefer the setup of 6.x. Not worth losing options for slightly better graphics.

I did notice something with my new recent skins I'm working on... I did a batch image edit with the hue from blue to whatever color.... I noticed the lower white bar in the app drawer changed to a tinted of whatever color, And also the one in the sense desk clock, timer ect... I'd like to start incorporating that image in my skins.. But I'm having a hell of a time trying to find the file.. Anyone have any idea where to look?

The name of the file for that is common_slide_bar.9.png and is in drawable-hdpi.

Tapatalk: love it or hate it, it isn't going away any time soon. For those who fall into the former category, version 4 of the ubiquitous forum browsing platform is now live in the Play Store, in a public beta version chock-full of new features. The app has been circulating among the Tapatalk faithful in private beta for just short of two months now. Tapatalk 4 is a free download, but requires Android 4.0 or higher.
A brand-spanking-new interface tops the list of added features in Tapatalk 4. It's easy to see why, with a mix of Holo elements, Google Now-style cards, and the sidebar menu that seems to be all the rage. Different stored sites are accessed via a pull-down list on the side menu, with a nice category view serving as the app's home page.
Other features include a new set of homescreen widgets, revamped push notifications, and an integrated photo editor. Eventually this app will be merged with Tapatalk and Tapatalk HD, hopefully creating a unified app like the Google gods intended. For the moment, it's a pretty cool way to try out the new features without shelling out eight bucks for both of them.

I haven't updated my TP in a while. I am still running CM9 without a working camera and slight lag. That SCHIZOID rom looks buttery smooth. Is that the most update to date/compatible ROM right now for the TP?

Yes. Shumash released the July 22nd update today, but its just July 18th with the new WiFi driver by jcsullins. I have yet to try Evervolv, Oat_LnT, or Uncapped, but they all have the jcsullins CM 10.1 base.
I prefer the Schizoid build for the customization with Rom Manager and ParanoidAndroid preferences.

This ROM is outstanding. It give another life to my touchpad. I replace my galaxy tab 10.1 that is now no match at all. overclock to 1.9, tween the setting and voila. for the first time my touchpad was able to play hd video and skype. After installing Dark_ActionBar_Orange_CM_Theme_0.1, bobclock and dark in sky, this is what my home page look like.

Google Search - Latest Update

Changes:
It officially brings Search version 3 (3.1.8 to be exact) that shipped in KitKat to all devices running 4.1+. This includes an updated UI, new refresh animation, among other things.
Because Search houses the Google Experience Launcher (GEL) inside, this update also brings GEL to all devices running Android 4.1+. All you need to do after installing Search 3.1.8 is install the launcher app from here, and voila - GEL for all, not just KitKat devices. I have it running on 4.1, 4.3, and 4.4 on both phones and tablets, and it finally looks perfect.
As I mentioned above, 3.1.8 completely fixes the wonky GEL layout on tablets. As you may have seen yesterday, several things on the Nexus 7, for example, were out of whack - the keyboard was popping when you tapped Home, the icons were old, and the Search box was off-center. All fixed.
Remember: GEL does support transparency in the navigation and status bars, but you need KitKat for that to work. And Google disabled it system-wide on the Nexus 10.
