I had this EXACT same problem with my wife's S2. In the end I narrowed it down to a faulty usb board. After I replaced it, all the problems you describe went away.
See this thread, and read the OP in full if you want to try replacement. ..

Thank you keith for the fast respond...
Can you help me understand on what coused this? So that i wont repeat doing the mistake again..
I will try to look on the link you gave... but iam currently in Africa..... i hope i can get the things i need here

In my wifes case, it was moisture in the socket and subsequent charging, but it can also be caused by physical damage to the contacts in the socket....something *might* be shorting with something else which *could* have been caused by incorrect insertion of the charger plug.....or it might simply be 'wear and tear'.......the socket IS the weak point of the S2, and therefore the part most likely to fail first.......

Thank you very much....
Bt iam stil using the phone... i need to prepare myself and get new s2

Mate....try the least expensive option first......this board costs pocket change....and it might save you the expense of a new phone......

[Q] USB problem!!!!!

hey guys
i bought a Galaxy s couple of weeks ago (GT-I9000M). i rooted the phone using "one touch root".....then install "Vibrant9 Eclair 2.1" rom by "eugene373".....then before i could do the lag fix and Kernel, as soon as i plugged in my USB cable, my phone would shut down and go into a cycle of showing an empty battery icon (the phone is fully charged) then a black screen ...this would happen whenever i plugged in the USB in to the phone (no matter using my PC or wall charger) , it would automatically turn the phone off and do the same ..... after a while since i couldn't find a stock Bell rom ,i installed the T-mobile one using the following guide :
http:/ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748074
and btw right now the volume bottoms are other way round....(up turns down the sound and Vice-versa)
i was hoping if someone can help me out with this problem...so i can get my phone to connect again.(and fix the sound control volume)
regrads

hey
thanks for taking the time and answering .... but i have done the un-bricking thing as i mentioned .... i think i need a firmware that is not t-mobile cause my phone version is actually GT-I9000M not the SGH-T959 .... a firmware that i can use Odin and put on my phone using the download mode
cheers
Uh oh.. you're in loads of trouble because you're on the international phone and flashed a U.S. ROM.
I remembered when flashing the International leak of 2.2, it would cause a brick going back. Are you able to get into download mode? If you are, look in the I9000 forum for a Odin stock and try that.

[Q] HOW to Update or reflash Galaxy s2 Bootloader

i have a problem with my galaxy s2 exactly like this: got a wierd problem. My galaxy S2 refuses to shut down.
When I shut the phone down without a USB cable connected then the phone turns black and the 'menu and 'return' button lights up then the phone vibrates. at this stage before the buttons turns black and the phone was totally shut down. now instead the buttons are still lit after the vibration and then the phone starts up again.
With a USB plugged in after the vibration when shutting down I get to the screen where the battery indicating charging is shown, but as soon i remove the USB cable the phone starts.
The power button is not stuck.
It's not rooted: cleared the cache in 3e recovery. No change.
I fully charged my battery. No change
I drained my battery to 0%. No change
I tried another battery. No change.
Well i thing i should Re-flash a Bootloder or install another one, is there any idea how to do that throw ODIN1.85 Please please please help me im just
First step back up data factory reset phone .
Do not start messing with bootloaders flash a full stock firmware if you have to .

WELL....
Can you people be more clearly on Ur Tips Please, Do i have to Update Bootloader or Bootloader will Automatically update after i flash a Full firmware via Odin or during update a frimware do i need to click a tick there writting "UPDATE BOOTLOADER" or not or let me know any Solution pleaseeeeeeeeeee . English is my 3rd Langue so Please try to explane with a Simply English Brothers and sister. I feel sucks No one can fix my Problem here in Kosovo.
If you are going to flash New firmware via Odin from intratech you will automatically get the right (older) bootloader that lets you clear the flash counter with the jig.
If you have already flashed KI3 or KI8 from somewhere else chances are you will have the new bootloader flashed on your phone.
If that is the case intratech has the older bootloader that you can download and flash via Odin without having to flash the full firmware again.
Read the 1st few posts in his thread carefully for the exact steps to follow.
Good luck.

Well i try Many of Roms to flash i try with older and newer Problem still there, i think i need to Change a Usb Port (Electronic Usb maybe i demage with a bad Charger or Who know). Is there any Idea where i can Buy&Purchase Galaxy s2 Electronic Parts
I has this same problem after flashing ki4. Would not shut off. Kept booting up every time I tried to switch off. After a bit of searching I found a fix got my phone. Just remove the battery for 30 seconds. Reinstall and try again. Might not work for you but won't cost anything to try.
Edit
Just read. You already tried another battery do this won't help you. Sorry.

urgent help required

my phone is bricked and i cannot go into the download mode as the cellphone does not show any response when 3 button combination is pressed more over the phone is slight warm from where the sim can be inserted is there any way to unbrick it
It *sounds* like a hard brick.......but more info is needed.......
Were you rooted?
Were you on stock or custom?
What android version was it?
What happened/did you do to get the phone to it's current state?

yup i was rooted and was using philz kernel with a neat rom .......version was 4.1.2....i have flashed different kernels, rom and recoveries but it always got stuck on wipe data reset and then i was flashing pit file in odin where it didnt showed any response and i plugged out the device and it got bricked ..... now it is not showing any signs of life but it gets slight warm from sim part......i tried the jig also but accidently soldered wrong resistors of 300 ohms instead of 300k ohms i think i have ruined it further more
The critical things in your reply were.....
Flashing a pit file
And......
Unplugging during an Odin flash.
Afraid they are the two things MOST likely to cause a hard brick.......
Now some questions.......
Can you enter recovery mode?
Can you enter download mode?
Do you get the onscreen battery charging animation when you plug in the charger?
Does the phone get warm around the main camera when you plug the charger in?
If you answer no, no, no and yes' then you're looking at a hard brick......
A USB jig won't work...
A JTAG *might* work....though in this case, it is a VERY long shot........
Realistically your best bet is either a motherboard replacement (either a warranty repair at Samsung or from a donor phone) or start thinking about saving for a new phone.......sorry fella

[Q] Hardcore battery problems (Complicated)

I have the same problem like month ago (Last time i solved it by new battery and everything was ok.)
I CAN'T CHARGE MY BATTERY.
My steps now:
1. I bought new loader and loader seems not to be problem
2. I have fully formated system, cache and everything that was in CWM possible to format and wiped all caches, battery stats etc and then I flashed stock ROM.
NOW:
I'm charging it with loader and i have all time 0%-5%.
I inserted for fun my old damaged (probably, but who knows where the hell is problem?) and it was 95% (LOL?) but after restart it died.
Where the hell is the problem?
With battery?
With micro-usb port?
With other hardware?
Maybe it's something wrong with system but I'm total newbie, tell me all steps how to check is everything there ok.
How to PRECISELY DIAGNOSE what the hell is going on?
Try hawkerpaul's nuke : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100558
If there is a problem with the port, you can search youtube to clean it ( i don't think so tho)
Are you using the stock rom? If not, flash the stock rom with odin, try ICS rom too, there is no way we can check what is wrong, you have to try everything :/
Good advice from @Dakura except that you should stay away from Odin until you've ruled out any possibility of a faulty USB port. If you attempt a flash with a faulty port, you could end up with some really serious issues. If you want to replace the board (it costs less than a replacement genuine battery) read my guide........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335961
it should be of some help to you......
Edit.....if you choose the ICS stock firmware, stay away from 4.0.4......search emmc brickbug if you want to know why......

I put on my phone different baterries and it always shows different percentage. Cleaned micro-usb port and nothing changed.
@edit: i went to service and they have montage new micro-usb module, we will see what will happen

i9100 to revolution rom wont charge!

My friend helped me updated my S2 I9100 to Revolution Rom but now its batteries wont charge anymore, neither MPJ spare battery nor factory battery. I am using Samsung charger came with my phone but not working. Urgent help please!
Back to stock to test; get a stock rom from Samfirmware, flash it with Odin, test - don't restore or install any apps until you're satisfied it works fine with stock. If it does, then it's obviously something rom-side. That means you have two options; wait till you get 10 posts & ask in the rom thread, or wait until someone who uses the rom sees this post & helps you (do not bump this thread more than once in 24 hrs).
Also read through the ROM thread to see if anybody else is having the same issue......
In the mean time see if you can get a stable connection to your PC via the USB cable and socket on the phone.......
Besides the ROM, it *could* be the charger (they DO wear out) or possibly the USB socket on the phone itself.........
