DISCONTINUED[ROM][July, 22 2013] HTC Desire V Baidu CloudROM v32 (almost) English - HTC Desire V

DISCONTINUED
Sorry, I just sold my phone, and I can't develop for it anymore. I will keep these threads for you guys until something better will occur, but I will have some trouble to solve the problems. Thank you for all appreciations.
-- If this will help, you can still say thank you -- press the Thanks button! :good:
For those who are fans of MIUI, this is the closest thing. MIUI announced already that they will not support dualsim phones. But two of its "children", LewaOS and Baidu CloudROM are targeting that niche. LewaOS it's more suitable, but they didn't released a ROM for this phone... yet. Baidu did, but their ROM is focusing on China market - all farmework, and proprietary apps are filled with references to China locations, zones, codes, telephony operators, etc. I tried to build a ROM from LewaOS OpenBuild source, but unfortunately that is for gingerbread (the one from github).
I took last Baidu ROM, 32, and I made a version most in English. I put there and Morelocale apk for extra languages, but ICS 4.0.4 platform has only 16-18 languages.
Features:
- like any MIUI or LewaOS ROM.
- there are a lot of settings, and gadgets
- I removed non-important apps, integrated Google Apps
How to install:
- download the ROM zip
- delete from sdcard the well known three folders: .android-secure, Android, LOST.DIR
- in bootloader flash attached baiduboot.img
- in recovery do a full wipe
- in recovery install ROM zip from sdcard
- reboot, and wait for first boot. It will start with google setup wizard.
- do all the settings you want
- Here you go! Done!
If you choose to try this ROM, I assume that you know what you are doing, and I am not responsible if you brick your phone.
Download
1. HTC Desire V Baidu CloudROM v32 Max flavor v3 Deodexed
2. HTC Desire V Baidu CloudROM v32 Max flavor v3 Odexed
UPDATED to Version 32.

On first run it will be a big clock-weather widget on home screen - just drag it to upper margin to delete - it can't be removed for good since it is related to three jars from framework, only from screen. I did removed baidu weather because it was very limitative (only few cities from around the world), but I integrated Android weather which is much better.
Then, delete all shortcuts you don't want on any screen.
To remove the chinese bulletin from last screen on left, press menu button on home (the one with last open apps in stock ROM) and select home settings, then in opened menu scroll down to the last line and uncheck it - see the last screenshot.
To see last opened apps press and hold home button.
To set names and other things to each SIM, in DualCard settings menu, press the SIM number (22601 or 22610) and make those settings in newly appeared menu.
And, so on... you have to find by yourself how this ROM works, because are too much to talk about its settings.

I don't think it will support update OTA, because we don't use Baidu recovery, and the ROM is striped out. But I will make a new version for new ROM (32, 33... and waiting for v5 stable).
Location worked fine for me, it will ask you first to update some data from market, and after that all good.
I don't know about Exchange, I didn't tried it, I don't use this ROM currently (I use my senseless version), because I don't really like MIUI.
If LewaOS will release a ROM for this phone, maybe I will try it, because from what I've seen on other phones, it's a very stable and fast Android OS, and is not so much oriented for china market like Baidu.
I made this ROM because there are some people who wanted an English version.

Carliv, thank´s for your replay.
oky we will look forward .
I use at the moment your ROM HTC T328W -supercharger-Sense 5 . This ROM is great i´m happy with this. thank you very match for this work!!!

almozaffar,
Could you please share with me how you installed build 40? What boot or recovery image did you use? I really want to install Baidu ROM on my Desire V due to its slick design, speed and stability.

at the beginning of updater-script, which is located on the folder path META-INF\com\google\android.
To open Baidu ROM use WINRAR, to change updater-script use Notepad++ with exposed coded 'UTF-8 (without BOM)'
Put the modified updater-script in the archive with the replacement of original.
Do not unpack or repack Baidu ROM archive!!

very easy:
1-get this tool Desire_V_All-In-One_Kit_v1.0 from xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2077774 and unpack it in "Android" folder in Drive C of your laptop
2-put your Desire V in Bootloader then plug it in, assuming you already installed the necessary drivers
3-click "Desire V.exe" from above tool
4-unpack your Baidu version then take "boot and Recovery" from it and copy them to "windows" folder of Drive C
5-click on "flash a kernel" from that exe then take "boot" from those two file you've got from Baidu pack. now you get the Baidu Boot.
6-, Unplug, reboot gadget into Bootloader again
7-click on "flash your recovery" then pick up the Baidu recovery you had
8-when done boot into recovery wich will be in chinese. Don't panic, bu using Volume button down, pick up the second choice by pressing Power Button, then the second choice which will take you to your SD where you put the latest Baidu ROM, now press Power Button to install it. when done, press Power Button continuasly intil rebooting. wait for complete startup, then get into your Settings to change language into Englsih.
9-here is the latest version 41

[ROM] Lenovo P780 Pre-rooted Official ROMs for Flash Tool with TWRP

DISCLAIMER : What you do with the content of this thread is your own responsibility.
WARNING : Tested only with the 4GB version of Lenovo P780
Personal Plea : Please do not PM me for every little thing. Please post your queries in this thread instead, and READ before PM me. I will ignore you if your questions are already answered here.
What are these?
These are pre-rooted Flash Tool images for Lenovo P780 4GB. They also have TWRP recovery by default. Apps installed on first boot are also removed. They can be installed from the Play Store and those included are already outdated anyway.
The Chinese version also has GApps installed as it did not originally come with GApps.
What is VIBEUI?
These are MIUI-like ROMs created by Lenovo for their later phones (phones released after our P780). They were kind enough to port them over to our P780 but as of now only available officially for Chinese base.
The one I'm sharing below is new Android 4.4.2 based VIBEUI V1.5. They are BETA QUALITY. They are rooted, with GApps and TWRP, debloated somewhat like before. They also have Chinese radios. Flash a different one in recovery that you like.
In addition to that, framework.jar was modded to have minimum number match for caller id to be 10 instead of 11 (Credit to @C3C076 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268120)
Note : Removing Lenovo Safe Center/SecureIT creates an annoying overlay that says "Security Problem" on our phone. That's why I left it in. You can freeze it however, the overlay won't show.
What are they good for?
These are good as backups. Or if you want to change your base from Chinese to Worldwide and/or vice versa. Or you have soft-bricked your phone. Or you just don't know which recovery works with your phone.
Why would I want to change my base ROM?
The custom ROMs you can find on the internet for the Lenovo P780 are meant for specific ROM base ONLY. For example, most of the ROMs from needrom, or Mobile Uncle forums (or even MIUI from the official website), are meant for the Chinese base. Most of the ROMs from Russian 4pda or lenovo-forum are meant for the Worldwide base. Flashing a ROM meant for the wrong base will cause your phone not to boot properly. Flashing a recovery image meant for a wrong base will also cause your phone not to boot. Flash with one of these base ROMs, then flash the ROM of your choice/specific base from TWRP. These images got you covered.
Where are they?
HERE :
Chinese version :
P780_S135_130917_rooted_twrp_gapps.7z
VIBEUI_V1.5_1419_5_DEV_P780_rooted_twrp_gapps.7z
Worldwide version :
P780_S119_130929_rooted_twrp_gapps.7z
P780_ROW_S123_131231_rooted_twrp_gapps.7z
P780_ROW_S124_140403_rooted_twrp_gapps.7z
How do I flash these to my phone?
You will need :
Windows PC (Windows 7 tested, may or may not work with others)
Smart Phone Flash Tool (get it here)
Smart Phone Flash Tool USB Drivers (get it here)
A good quality micro USB cable and a working USB port on your Windows PC
Step by step guide :
If your phone is not already soft bricked, back up whatever you want. External SD card is fine. If your phone is soft-brick then say goodbye to your data and skip this step.
Uncompress all the files you downloaded from this thread into a directory where you can remember. Including the ROMs.
Shutdown your phone if its not in a bootloop. If it is skip this step.
Open "Device Manager" on your Windows PC.
Plug in your phone through the micro USB cable. A device will show up for a few seconds in "Device Manager". After that, it will disappear again!
Recognize the device tree where it appeared, and wait for it as you unplug and plug in your phone again (if bootloop, its automatic!)
Catch it with a right click as it appears! Then choose "Update Drivers" and pick the directory where you uncompressed the drivers you downloaded above. Its ok if after catching it the device disconnects. You only need to install the drivers now.
Assuming the drivers are correctly installed, run the Smart Phone Flash Tool.
Click on scatter-loading and choose the scatter file "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt" of the ROM you want to flash.
Make sure the checkbox "DL DA All With Check Sum" is CHECKED
Click on "Firmware->Upgrade" button.
Plug in your powered down phone via the USB cable again. See it flash.
When a big green circle appears on the screen, your are done!
How do I flash a custom ROM after this?
First of all, always allow your phone to boot up at least ONCE after a fresh flash. Otherwise flashing from custom recovery will fail by some partition errors.
After that, shutdown your phone, then power it up with both up and down volume button press, releasing the power button after the screen lights up. That is TWRP. Happy flashing!
My signal has become very bad after switching base!
According to some Russian forum, phones from China has a different GSM module, and switching base may affect the signal strength since you flash also the modem image in the process.
Lucky for us, the Russians have us covered. Pick a modem of your choice and try them until you find one that works well for you:

Actually that's the one I was using before I switched to the one based on JiaoYu G4 by "savyol". Reason being my iPega BT controller doesn't work on SLXROM (but that's fair because it didn't work on Lenovo stock either) but it worked in this ROM (and also MIUI).
However I could be switching back soon since the newer release of this they cranked up the auto brightness to an eye piercing level when in complete darkness and i hate it!

The JiaYu ROM i was testing is for ROW, I found it here:
http://forum.china-iphone.ru/post1223015.html#p1223015
If your phone is running LiFe it should be ROW version. Just flash in recovery should do.
Heck, if you screw up, reflash it again in Flash_Tool, hence the purpose of me sharing the above ROMs

If you have official firmware, it can be determined by the number, i.e. S110, S116, S119 (ROW), and S125, S129, S135 (Chinese)
You have a custom ROM installed. This is probably not there, or changed by the ROM creator.
By experience LiFe is based on ROW. Unless somebody ported over to Chinese base and flashed it on your phone.
The point of this thread is to share those bases. So that you can decide and switch base. So that it DOESN'T MATTER what base you are CURRENTLY on, just change to the one needed by your intended custom ROM.
PS : The JiaYu ROM has EBR included in it (partition table) so in theory it should work on either base

I think the ROM maker requested people do not share his ROM on other forums.
When in doubt, use google translate.

Hi Satanduck,
thanks for the roms and procedure. Worked flawlessly !
However, I can't seem to find the "developer options" in the settings ? Is it simply not there or hiding some place else ?
Thanks!
this is standard "feature" of Android these days, hiding developer stuff from innocent users... go to about phone, keep tapping on build number until it appears!

@satanduck - I have bought the Lenovo P780 and facing an unusual problem. I am not able to move the Apps from the App Drawer to the Home Screens of Lenovo Launcher at all. When I long press the app icon in App Drawer, they dance with a X symbol in each user app but when I drag it up or down, I don't see an Option to move to Home or the Home Screen? The phone is not rooted yet.
your advice on this would be much appreciated.

Select the app, and drag down on wich screen you want, they are small on the bottom, or you can press menu, add app., you can select one or more..
It was a headscratcher for me too!
What works for me :
1. Long press on any of the homescreens (empty space)
2. A menu appears at the bottom with several tabs, by default it is on "Add"
3. Select what you want to add to the homescreen (multiple select possible), Apps, shortcuts, folders, widgets, etc...

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLASHING VIA SPTOOLS METHOD
==============================================
Please Read carefully.
Using Flash Tools to Flash TWRP/CWM Recovery to A116
Requirements:
TWRP/CWM Rewcovery
Flash Tool
A computer
A Micromax A116 (obviously)
Steps To Follow:-
1. Install drivers for your phone using Micromax drivers.
2. Extract the Stock ROM folder and replace recovery.img with cwm recovery.
3. Extract and open the SP Flash Tools.
4. In SP Flash Tools, click on Scatter-Loading and the program will ask you the location of the scatter loading file for your device.
5. In the extracted folder of the stock rom, go to the folder named "S9201_MP_F4_B1_IN_MMX_0.16_flasher_user" and select the file "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc" which is our scatter loading file.
Check only recovery.img, preloader and uncheck all others.
6. Switch off your phone (Remove the battery to make sure it is switched off).
7. In Flash Tool, go to Options and Click USB Mode so that it is enabled. Click options again and then go to DA Download All > Speed and finally select High Speed.
8. Click the Download option (present on the right of Firmware
> Upgrade option) and the flash tool will start looking for your phone.
9. Connect your phone now. The Flash Tool will start the flashing process, the progress of which can be viewed from a yellow progress bar at the bottom of the flash tool.
**Don't interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device.
**Make sure no power interruption takes place. (Use a laptop to ensure this).
10. After the process completes, a green ring will appear on your device signalling that the process was successful.

They have not released 4.2.2 yet.

Camera 4.3 Patch is made only for stock and it replaces the 4.2 or vice versa. I dont know what will happen with MIUI.
1) Firstly, I will suggest "Dont try".
2) Secondly, if you still want to "Try at your own risk" after taking nandroid backup
3) Do whatever you want to man, coz phones do not explode on faces for any misadventure.

Sorry for late reply. Google play store in stock is from original stock (Oct or Nov 2013) and when you flash rom and connect internet, the play store should get updated automatically. This is tweaked Factory Stock and not a custom rom which are updated on regular basis.
I have made this for
(1) users who want to restore to original stock in case of brick or bootloop and may be who lost recovery too in worst case scenario (sptools version)
(2) users who want to use original stock but with great tweaks I have implemented. (cwm version)
(3) devs who want to use a good build of stock for making custom roms or porting.
Hi, an absolute newbie here looking for custom ROMs for my Canvas A116 and your ROM looks like the best option. I had a couple of questions:
1. By "Stock ROM" do you mean it is the pure Google Android found on their Nexus devices? If not, are there any such ROMs for my device?
2. By "Working OTA Update" do you mean I can get future versions of Android (like Kitkat) OTA?
Thanks!

By stock ROM he means what OEM MMX has provided with no modifications, if ur looking for nexus style I suggest u can either try superluminadad or oppo r819 stock the earlier is themed aosp android where as the latter is built by oppo as an aosp n ported
2nd question yes thats what he means quite directly

Could you please clarify further?
1. I don't want "Nexus Style", rather a pure Android experience (AOSP) without any OEM customization. Simply put, I want the Google Nexus experience on my Micromax device. I will check out "Oppo R819", I remember reading that Oppo is pure Android.
2. Are the updates pushed by the dev of this ROM or by Google itself?
Thanks for your responses.

1) BTW I have just released the amazing fast and smoother Final Version of SuperLuminalDAD rom and its a heavily tweaked and tested bugless version of of a rom based on AOSP rom from other model. The rom is very lightweight and all craps are removed.
Don't only think about looks, consider features also. Custom roms are made to work smoother, faster, no-lags, double triple time battery backup. All these features are "always" missing in stock roms. Some stock roms even force close with many apps installed but they work without problem in custom roms.
We don't know what is in your mind (may be you are still scared to flash as you said you are "absolute" newbie). By any chance if you make a mind to flash any other rom then its best to know its features first and if you like them flash and experience them. Otherwise you can go back to stock.
2) This thread is exact copy of factory stock roms of A116 from Micromax (not Google) and OTA comes always from Manufacturer of your Rom based on its hardware configuration.
Why GOOGLE will send OTA for 4,915,298,928 models of phones all over the world from various manufacturers? Google only sends OTA for its own Nexus series and few nexus models from LG, etc.
PS: When anyone mentions "Factory Stock Rom" in xda, generally he/she means the Official Rom from manufacturer of the exact model of the phone and not google.

1. Your SLD ROM looks great, I think I'll go for that. Dunno why I didn't see it before, it was right there in your signature BTW, I noticed it doesn't have the OTA feature, so when you release the next version of SLD, will I have to re-flash my device?
2. "Why GOOGLE will send OTA for 4,915,298,928 models of phones all over the world from various manufacturers?" :laugh:
Now that you mention it, it seems so obvious. I had this impression that Google puts out Android releases, OEMs put their crapware on top of it and make some UI changes and release it to us. So, I was looking for a ROM which will give me the latest Android version directly from Google... my mistake.
Thanks again for your responses.

@shishirdbhat I am glad you asked questions. Many good people like @bharat_goku here are keen to answer questions and help new pals. Thanks to all.
1) SLD is like a base for everyone, from minimum user to heavy app users. Lots of free memory and longest battery backup. It doesn't have OTA feature, but now the Final version is released, there will be very few occassional updates and not any major one. I provide small flashable zip updates, which you can flash when you want to. Otherwise this is perfectly worked out version. If you try it, leave feedback.in SLD thread, NOT HERE.
2) Android is Open Source Project (AOSP) by Google and other manufacturers use it with various hardware customizations of their various models with FLASHY UIs and thousand other things on their own. Manufacturers like Samsung are successful for their unique UI and added features. You will learn a lot from various people on xda. Just keep visiting. Good Luck.
Installed the tweaked a116i....its really stable and lite. Touch is also quite responsive. Just one query I have if we can increase the sound abit more. Before this rom i was using the xperia rom and the sound was amazing. Keep up the gr8 work. Cheers:thumbup:

There is an option in Developers Mode, to increase a volume little bit than normal. But it should be done carefully. With wrong settings there is risk of blowing the speaker. In tweaked version the sound is pretty clear and marginally better than normal. Still we can't expect the LOUDEST volume like unbranded chinese phones from branded chinese phones

[SM-P600][4.4.4]CyanogenMod 11 - Note 10.1 (2014) WiFi

Here is my port of CM11 to SM-P600, a.k.a lt03wifi. Source was almost entirely derived from the official source for SM-T520 which has almost the exact same hardware.
What works:
screen
wifi
bluetooth
logcat
usb otg storage
sound
microphone
multitouch
auto brightness
external sdcard
gps
softkeys
softkey backlight
flashlight
accelerometer
gyroscope
magnetometer
light intensity sensor
pen (without fancy Samsung menus of course)
both cameras
What doesn't work:
nothing as far as tested
Issues:
performance cpu governor causes sleep of death
stock cm camera app issue (see post below)
Links and how to install
Download link
ODIN flashable recovery
You won't be able to install it via TWRP for SM-P600, it will be complaining about the device name not being lt03wifiue. This is because they are mixing it up with SM-P601, it should be fixed on their side. I haven't tried but it might be the case for other recoveries as well. If you receive this error, flash the above recovery with ODIN and install from there. As a side note, the above recovery has much less features compared to TWRP but it's much faster, so it's better for quick test iterations.
I would be really glad if you can install, test and see what issues you might get.

Camera issue
There is a weird camera issue that I can describe as follows:
cm stock Camera app hangs when launched; after this, if killed, it will crash at its next launch and Torch will start crashing as well. This seems normal as the flashlight is probably using the same driver as the camera.
Torch will work if Camera is not launched at all.
If the Google Camera app is downloaded, installed and launched, the stock Camera app will properly launch and work until the next reboot, even if the Google Camera app is closed.
At this point, within the stock Camera app, if the mode is set to Video instead of Picture (the default), the Camera app will launch successfully even after a reboot. After launched, it can go back into the Picture mode no problem. So in other words, launching the Camera app in the Picture mode will freeze the camera and the flashlight until reboot.
This is very weird and I couldn't pin it down. The dmesg dump of the stock Camera app: http://pastebin.com/xPDYRG4X
dmesg dump of the Android Camera app: http://pastebin.com/WaqxQA5E
As you see, they are nearly exactly the same.
It could be a permission issue, a driver issue, a kernel module that's loaded on-demand, I have no idea at this point. I need help. Do any of you guys have any insight as to why this might be the issue?
Update: I tried the first ~10 camera apps in the market and ALL of them work perfectly fine. I think CM camera app is to blame here. Is anyone aware of such a thing on other devices?
I love you, where is your donation button , Sir? I dont use the camera and i can stand the sleep of death(although i know it can be fixed) but you have done something really important, with cm on p600 it is much more possible to be supported as a legacy device on many roms instead of only waiting for samsung and roms based on samsung software. Omnirom, PARom, Aopk are just a compile away with something like p600 working. Congratulations, and i still want to see your donate button.
Thank you!
I replaced the camera app with Google Camera, in recovery, and it seems there are no more problems with it.
Is there any way to make the pen work?
Make sure you are using CAF-NEW for the audio,media, and display HALs. Also, make sure that you have the proper commits in the kernel to coincide with the caf-new hals.
Got the lt03wifiue instead of lt03wifi problem.
I cant flash the recovery that you compiled. It says that md5 does not match on odin 3.07. any suggestions?
installed PhilZ Touch, supposedly based on cwm and still got the lt03wifieu name problem.
Can i change lt03wifieu to lt03wifi flashing a samsung rom from sammobil?
Well, I did flash the recovery I uploaded with Odin 3.09 and I didn't try Odin 3.07 so there might be a problem there. I think the device name should be lt03wifixx in one place and lt03wifi in another. I'll check this out along with the HAL issue tomorrow.
Yes, I forgot to test the pen and it doesn't work at all. Adding it to the list.
Thank you for your kindness, but I don't think I really deserve a donation here, all I did was adjust the obvious parameters in a ready-made source

For its to work i deleted the first line that says:
assert(
getprop("ro.product.device") == "lt03wifi" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "lt03wifi" ||
abort("This package is for device: lt03wifi; this device is " + getprop("ro.product.device") + "."); );

After that and a data wipe on TWRP the installation went smooth. This will let you to flash the rom and also install cwm recovery that comes with CM roms so you can say bye to TWRP; from then, the "lt03wifieu" is not a problem for me on cwm as @equilibriumtr said. I can now flash the zip with the lines that didnt let me before.
I think we could recover the lost security from deleting that line by adding something like this:
assert(
getprop("ro.product.device") == "lt03wifi" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "lt03wifi" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "lt03wifiue" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "lt03wifiue" ||
abort("This package is for device: lt03wifi; this device is " + getprop("ro.product.device") + "."); );

Can someone please add the lines instead of deleting them first and try flashing? Since with CWM i dont get the "lt03wifi is not lt03wifiue" error so I dont know if my theory is correct.
Will be testing
Thank you for porting cyanogenmod to our tablet. I will be testing it and report anything that goes wrong.
Does ART work or Dalvik only? 'cause AFAIK you can't select ART in the official Samsung firmware...
Also the Exynos 3 cm port reportedly has got the S Pen working (without samsung's s pen functionalities of course), so you might want to take a look at their sources / repos?
PS: Keep up the good work, having a fully functional cm rom one day would be amazing :fingers-crossed:

By the way, I always had a working pen in my Note II LTE, even back when only cm 10.2 was available. But I'll look at the pen functionality soon because we will be needing it ourselves.
I looked at the device name issue, rebuilt the source and I got exact same build.prop with the original Samsung ROM:
Code:
ro.product.name=lt03wifixx #This changed
ro.product.device=lt03wifi
ro.build.product=lt03wifi
It's basically TWRP's fault for mixing up SM-P601 (lt03wifiue) and SM-P600 (lt03wifi), it should be fixed on their side. I couldn't try philz touch because goo.im was down. For now, try to use my recovery.
I also tried flashing the recovery I provided with Odin 3.07, it works. Something might be wrong on your side.

I don't think Qualcomm hardware applies here, lt03wifi is Exynos-based.
Good to see that someone finally directed his attention to CM11 for our P600.

If I'm not mistaken, the difference between Tab models and Note models is that the Tabs don't have an S-Pen. So it's not surprising the S-Pen doesn't work when using a Tab ROM.

Slow down there, mate - you can't expect a fully stable "Daily-use ready" Rom after just one day
This is still in early testing...and I doubt you can call it "stable" when there is a sleep of death problem
thanks ...

Thanks for the Fast response Dear friend ... Well, if the sleep of dead is all , you can get rid of it by increasing the Min CPU Freq using any CPU manager app ... can you tell me about the RAM ? ( we have RAM management problem in UP so we need some more free RAM comparing with TW ROMs ) ... Thanks in advance

First off thanks for the port. I find stock android roms the best to run Linux on so if you could release a separate kernel with Virtual Terminal enabled (VT_config) it would be great.
As expected the rom only has the barebones on it and seems far more lightweight than even the most debloated rom. Merely not running the Samsung frameworks does wonders me thinks...

IUNI U3 stock ROMs / updating / scripts / sources

I bought a IUNI U3 recently and found two recoveries for the device. There is only these two builds.
I bought the device to try something new and I wanted to translate the IUNI OS ROM.
Problem is: The CWM recovery is non touch and has a bug which causes backups not to work. The TWRP is version 2.8.3 and me and a friend of mine managed to get rid of an overheating bug by adding
other default governors for the recovery (setting on demand instead of performance). Still I have some trouble with this recovery, but it is the only thing I got.
If I want to flash a ROM with it I get errors.
Code:
msm.boot_update("backup");
msm.boot_update("finalize");
in the updater script gives me a
Code:
line 108 col 26: unknown function "msm.boot_update"
line 109 col 28: unknown function "msm.boot_update"
2 parse errors
using TWRP while CWM flashes the ZIP without a problem.
If I remove
Code:
ui_print("Patching firmware images...");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/tz.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/tz");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/sbl1.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/sbl1");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/rpm.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/rpm");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/emmc_appsboot.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot");
msm.boot_update("backup");
msm.boot_update("finalize");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/NON-HLOS.bin", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/splash.bin", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/splash");
unmount("/system");
from the updater script (deleting the /firmware folder in the zip of course) TWRP flashes the ZIP without a problem like CWM does.
Is there a problem within the TWRP build or is this related to the updater binary?
Or is this command being processed correctly by the stock recovery only?
I am kind of a beginner and I wondered if someone could give me some advice so I do not have to remove the radio update.
Btw: the cooks of the mentioned recoveries are russians and I got no response until now. On 4PDA ru I can not register etc etc.
Regarding IUNI U3
Hello t-ryder,
I am sorry I cannot help you with that. I have IUNI U3 for 6 months now. I am sadly using Chinese CWM :crying: and I think I tried restoring backup once and was ok. I tried TWRP once when I bought it and it failed in installing update package so I returned back to chinese CWM.
I am currently stuck at ROM BetaV2.0 20150105. When I tried to update to Beta 3.0 It got stuck at IUNI logo because of problem with Xposed. The IUNIOS use Xposed in their ROM unofficially like MIUI did and they moved forward to blow the Xposed installation in new ROMs. Some OnePlus one users spotted Xposed working for IUNIOS Beta3 custom rom and I did not know how they did it, or may be it is broken for IUNI U3 only.
Can you tell me which ROM you installed and if Xposed is working? Which GApps you use?
The only source I found for IUNI U3 was the chinses official forums. Can you tell me if you found any other sources?
Thanks

The updater-script is parsed by the update-binary (which communicates with the recovery only for UI updates), so it's hard to imagine why it would work in one recovery but not in the other.
Thanks for your reply.
Thought of something like that.
When I get a new build ready I am gonna try an older updater-binary.
I heard that some builds of TWRP have problems with newer updater-binaries for some devcies.

Sounds like or the updater binary has no implementation of the msm.bootupdater function or maybe you need some binary of /bin folder that has this function.
You can decompress the boot image from recovery.img and compare to the CWM boot image if there is any missing binary that has this function.

On 4PDA ru there are some devs working on stuff for the U3. I have never used Xposed on the U3. Last stable build is b3.0.5 - b3.0.6 is so buggy, I wonder why the IUNI dev team even released that crap.
I managed to flash the b3.0.5 using TWRP changing the updater script removing the device check and the radio update.
delete (in updater script for b3.0.6)
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "IUNI" || abort("This package is for \"IUNI\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
and
Code:
# ---- radio update tasks ----
ui_print("Patching firmware images...");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/tz.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/tz");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/sbl1.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/sbl1");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/rpm.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/rpm");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/emmc_appsboot.mbn", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/aboot");
msm.boot_update("backup");
msm.boot_update("finalize");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/NON-HLOS.bin", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem");
package_extract_file("firmware-update/splash.bin", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/splash");
unmount("/system");
Updating the radio once was enough (since I tried to translate the ROM and flashed the build over and over again to test).
Here is the thread on 4PDA ru - try reading using bing translator and if you want to dl something switch to original site view.

Me and my pal hellsgod edited the TWRP since there was a problem with the governors overheating the chip on performance gov.
Here the edited recovery build (originally compiled by evil goodd @ 4PDA ru)
Thanks T-ryder

Thank You T-ryder. I do not think Xposed will work for all these versions (they all have the same modified app_process) and I need it for many apps. By the way, there is a new version of firmware and it is only available in Chinese forums. its release date is 20150514 and it is recomended from the posts on the IUNI forums. The download link:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1sj2txz3
pass: hsf2
Also 4PDA.ru looks interesting, I am already registered but I could not login because of the Russian handwriting capatcha
I need to upgrade the baseband of course, but I need Xposed as well so I am stuck. The strange thing that I saw OPO IUNI v3 ROM with Xposed installed and probably working!!

I tried to download the 20150514 ROM maybe like 10 times now. No succes. F*** baidu.
Could you mirror it for me? I want to have a look at the updater binary and the updater script (and maybe try the ROM itself).
btw...
I even got a crowdin repo for the german translation... but translating the whole OS is such a pain in the a**.
Just downloaded it

Here What I did, of course with the help of google translate:
1. Create A QQ acount from imqq.com
2. Use your QQ account to login Baidu and choose to transfere the files you want to download to your Baidu Cloud (using the right arrow sign ==>)
Note: In Egypt pan.baidu.com links are not opening even with proxies (give 404 error) with some of ISPs so I had to view these links with a different ISP!
3. Use Baidu Program to download the files (It works from any ISP) the program name is: BaiduYun
BaiduYunGuanjia_5.2.7.exe you can google it. you need to login with the same QQ account and it will show the files on your Baidu cloud and you can choose to download any of them (download sign in chinese is like a capital T with a small slash \ at its leg )
Hope this helps

Have you successfully flashed GAPPS on the latest IUNI beta rom? If so, what package did you use?
I'm having problems installing g-apps on iuni os as well. The phone always hang at welcome screen because settings crashes.
I'm currently using MIUI os, but prefer the iuni os.

If you are using IUNI OS v2, you need to remove SetupWizard.apk from /system/priv-app after flashing, or remove it from the GAPPS zip prior to flashing.
I had Gapps working fine on the previous (buggy?) IUNI OS v3, but after upgrading to this one, I can flash the GAPPS package fine but the apps don't appear to be installed. Weird!

The IUNI V3.0 ROM I shared on Google Drive is the latest production version not beta, it is better than Beta 3.06 because WhatsApp is working and it is the latest basband/firmware.
For the problem of the insufficient disk space, I have a solution:
There is a folder in most of official ROMs that you can remove safely (/system/sdcard), it contains the promotion videos and songs for IUNI U3. They are copoied to emulated storage during rom installation so they are not needed anymore because they are already there.
Delete this folder (need Root Access and file manager like Root Explorer) then there will not be space problem again (it is 250MB). Install The latest GAPPS by TKruzze, use mini/micro/pico no problem. I used pa_gapps-modular-pico-4.4.4-20150308-signed.zip and works perfectly. Here are new download page after TKruzze closed the thread:

so this is sammy rom. why the kernel or gapps download, its not intergrated?
also. Im keen to try this rom. how much "chinese/asian" characters are still floating throughout the rom and unable to remove? bloatware?
high risk of brick?
is there any bugs or issues in this rom ?
and if so what are they ?
and is the WiFi working on the n7105 or not ?
yes everything is working only bug i found was to enable grayscale mode on power saver is to go into agni control found MDNIE HIJACK and turn it off
the sock kernel will not boot up the phone for some reason dont know why justed flash the kernel in dowload link after flashing rom you will be good not sure why gapps wasnt added in to rom i might add it on next update as for other i will see what can be remove without messing the rom up i been running this rom for a week without any problems flash it and give it a try
add air command
this rom is really awesome. just 2 things. it is a pity that the baidu keyboard is mostly in chinese. it seems like a very good one.
and the other thing is that my gps isn't working. I recently switched from a n7100 to a n7105. is there anything I have to look for? It also didn't work on the s5 rom for n7105.. I already flashed the newest modem available for my country. That is most likely the reason why the included compass app force-closes
Does somebody have any advice?
thanks in advance. and miui is quite enjoyable, thanks lanc-city (and gtbluesky)

thank you very much. I will try to grab a log tomorrow.
Edit: I couldn't see anything helpful in the logs but here they are anyway.. Those uncaught remoce exceptions occur all the time but they probably aren't related to gps in any way.
edit2 after applying the lte patch for n7100 n7105 gps works but com.android.phone crashes nonstop. so it is probably just a matter of finding and swapping the right system files I hope

since u don't need automatically connection between 2.4ghz n 5ghz
then don't have to bother about the bugs.

I am getting into a bootloop ... any guidance on how to correct this
(I am able to flash DN4, the CM version of MIUI and all ROMS suitable for N7105)
you are going to have to edit your Widzard Kernel to add miui setting. if you send me a link to the kernel i can see if add the settings to see if it works
