[Q] Next Launcher 3D on Mega 6.3 - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Started having boot up and reboot problems so had to do a hard reset. Then NL wouldn't set up as default launcher, so then installed the patch, that also wouldn't set up default launcher. Then when I shut down and booted up, hung up on the Samsung name after the initial Samsung sound and graphic blue Samsung swirl animation. Hung up so finally tried holding down power button, still no go, so removed the battery. Finally got it to start so started to eliminate software to see what causing...long story short, after the 4th reset, didn't install NL, but installed Go Launcher EX instead and all OK since, the last 2 days, with all software now downloaded. I have shut down and started up as well as rebooted many times to verify, now all OK. Anyone else? Why it can't recognize NL as the default launcher, even after the patch had to be tried, makes no sense, Now this problem!! Anyone else? Will stick with Go launcher EX now no choice unless this is handled.
Anyone else having a problem with Next Launcher 3D?

A Second First Start?

I like so many other have recently received my gTablet. I have done nothing so far except to charge it and start it to become acquinted with the interface.
When I powered on this morning the system seemed to hang at the gTablet logo. After about 1 minute I pressed the power on button to power off. The next time I restarted I had to go through the whole startup sequence again.
The only thing I noticed that changed is the background. Before it was leaves falling on water, now I have a ocean view.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Thanks
Yes, this happened to me too. I updated it, and after two or three startup/shutdowns I got the setup wizard. I did not get this when I started it up the first time.
I then found that I needed to re-install flash. The wallpaper can be changed back by long pressing the screen and selecting Wallpapers -> Live Wallpapers.

Problem with open optimus ROM

OK, so I successfully installed the ROM. It works fine and all until I actually use openscript on the terminal. For example, I wanted to change CPU frequency. I changed it, quit the terminal, and checked the frequency in system information. It was successful. But After about a minute my screen suddenly locked and here is the current situation. The locking screen works fine (I had the pattern lock), I can even open emergency calls. But when I unlock it, the only thing I see is the notification bar (which works btw, clock, wifi , all the icons are there, I can slide it down and up and so on). Everything else is just black. The buttons work - I can quit the notification tab buy clicking back or home or something like that. But I dont see my home screen, menu, buttons - nothing. I can lock it again, and it works fine again in the lock screen but afterwards same black screen again. Reboot does not work.
So I reinstalled the rom. Immediately after installing changed the frequency and waited for a bit. Everything was fine. I installed all the crap I usually have and kept using the phone. But the next day, I got annoyed by the music player and decided to change it again via the openscript. Same thing happened. And this is where I am stuck right now (actually this is already the third time I have this problem in 3 days and it's my third reinstall of the rom, but the first one also happened after using openscript to change frequency.)
So is there a way to fix this without reinstalling the rom again, cause I've customized the **** out of it and I don't wanna do it again. If no, how can I prevent this in the future?
P.S. If this helps, when rebooting, I hear the sound before the android splash screen which is sometimes skipped and sometimes shown for an unusually short time.
P.P.S. Also, I have the apps2sd flashed.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Got same problem
Hi,
Even I got same problem when I tried to change boot animation. Just blank screen.
But i realised it is due to, launcher app is not initiated. So tried a trick which worked indeed
Trick is when u are in a blank screen, click "HOME" button which will pop u up the list of launchers u have. Click One of them though they r not visible
Voilaa!!! Your screen is back

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 (official ICS) freezes and somewhat reboots. Why?

This odd thing happened yesterday... I was using the latest ADW Launcher, I was pressing on my screen, suddenly one folder from another screen moved to the screen where my finger was on... The phone vibrated. Then I noticed that I can't drag the folder back to the previous screen, but after a while, I managed to drag it back to where its place was. After that, the phone started to be weird... It froze during start ups, after restarts and shut downs...
1. The live wallpaper that I set changes whenever I restart or turn off my smartphone. (Or is this just a common trait of the official ICS?)
2. I stated on the title that my phone freezes and somewhat reboots... What actually happens is, after the phone freezes for a few seconds (on start up), everything reloads - live wallpaper and widgets (they reload again even after they have been loaded on start up).
3. Suddenly, it seems like it heats up pretty quick.

Try to flash another ROM with ODIN. Found on N7000 forum here on XDA.

[Q] SGT7 12/10 homescreen issue

I installed the 12/10 SGT7+CM10+Cherry Picks ROM, and am having issues with the home button, either the soft button or the n button, taking me to screen 1, instead of the default screen 3. Very rarely it will totally surprise me and go to screen 3 for no apparent reason, but usually I hit home, and then have to swipe over two screens to get to my icons and widgets. It's more of a minor annoyance than a serious problem, but if anyone has any idea how to fix it I would appreciate it. It's a totally clean install, I wiped everything before installing the new ROM, and I have attempted changing the default screen setting to 2 or 4 with no results.
Two ways to solve this.

I'm not trying trying be a smart arse but this is what I did even thought I'm running GO Launcher EX HD and not Tribucket
1st solution move everything that you would like as the default screen to screen three.
2nd solution delete all other screens beside your default then re-add your screen.

Oh, I understand that this is a solution assuming there's no way to make it behave correctly, but as I said it's a minor annoyance at best. Just thought it was worth a post to see if anyone knew what was causing it before I implemented any duct tape repairs.
Cool

Duct tape is the best.

I've seen the same thing on my NT with the 8/10 ROM. Usually, it's just a longer-than-expected pause between the launcher opening and it scrolling to the default screen -- maybe a second or so. If I'm impatient and swipe as soon as the launcher comes up, I end up overshooting the default start screen, but if I wait, the launcher opens the first (left-most) screen, then swipes over to the default. I work around this by changing the default screen to #1, and swapping my center and left-most screens.

Or you can try to set the default screen in launcher setting to your 3rd one.
It is set to screen 3, that's the whole point. It tends to go to screen 1 no matter what the default screen is set to.
I have the same problem. I actually like Trebuchet, so I'd prefer it over a 3rd party's. I didn't have this problem with Chris's 0.6.
Is there a way to install an unmodified version of Trebuchet over SGT7? Because I like the fixes that SGT7 makes.

Android 2.2.2 - troubleshooting a clock font switch gone wrong?

First off, using Velocity 1.2b18 on an old LG Ally. As the thread title says, it's based on (ancient by this point I guess) Android 2.2.2/Froyo.
Velocity comes with a modified lock screen font that has a square/robotic/futuristic/etc font chopped in for the numbers. Since it was about as far from matching my launcher clock font as it could possibly be, I figured I would simply switch Velocity's stock font for that of the launcher font. Others have apparently done this in the past, it seemed simple enough, so I figured...why not?
I used 7zip to grab the font from the apk it was in, dropped it into my SD card, and started the process. I did the following in Total Commander, while the phone was running; in hindsight I realize this was a terrible idea. Anyway, I copied the replacement font into the fonts folder, renamed it to Clocktopia.ttf, and renamed the old one Clocktopia.old. Then I exited and tried to lock the phone.
It tried to shut off and lock, came back up, then the screen shut off again. After that, whenever woken up, the key lights and backlight would come on, but it simply freezes on a black screen. Opening the physical keyboard (which would normally auto-unlock) does nothing, and it won't go back to sleep via the power button. Rebooting the phone, since it normally boots to the lock screen, has the same result.
"Ok," I thought, "so I'll simply remove the replacement font and re-rename the original and all will be well". And so, booting into recovery and accessing the phone from adb, I did just that. Rebooted the phone after this: same result as before. A bit of googling suggested clearing the cache when messing with fonts, so I cleared both caches and rebooted: same thing.
I've since made a nandroid of this apparently now borked android installation and restored a backup from the middle of the month (note to self: backup BEFORE screwing with things I don't fully understand next time), but my questions are...where did I go wrong? Was it that I performed the replacement while the phone was running? Why didn't restoring the original font reverse the effects, and is there any way to save the backup from its currently screwed-up state?
