Nexus 10 16GB and 32GB motherboard swap? - Nexus 10 General

Hello guys, does anyone know if the boards are swappable? Can I buy a 32GB board I seen on eBay and pop it in my 16GB screen\housing?
Thanks.

In the tear downs that I've viewed, it looks to be a pretty standard swap.

Thanks for your reply but my question is if it's the same device...is it compatible? I can take it apart...yes...looks easy. Will it work is what i need to know before i buy the 32GB motherboard.

The entire tablet design is on the motherboard, and it contains the LCD driver and I/O. So since both motherboard models use the same screen then yes they would be able to swap perfectly fine.

Internal GPS module ?

Was this module purchased by XDA member ?
http://cgi.ebay.com/GPS-ViewSonic-G...90531526629?pt=US_Tablets&hash=item43a50747e5
If so, any chance to get a report how it's working and perhaps some pictures ?
Thanks
I saw that too and was mighty interested. No pics of the hardware being sent or it installed in the gtablet so I'm just a little curious. I emailed the seller to ask if he's got more for sale or any pics...
I posted on this before. I think its a scam. I think they are selling a gps reciever that is not a internal add on. I got a gps unit for $20.
Scam with positive feedback from the buyer? (and it wasn't re-listed)
I don't think so.
does an external gps exist for this?

Sent from the awesome ZTab
Yep, I use blue tethered to my incredible which works great. Not sure if i'd want to crack open my gtab and monkey around with it to solder on a component.
I think you are missing the point folks,
internal would be way more convenient.
I wouldn't hesitate to solder it but still can't find the right module.

I bought the Gps module. Yes it fits the board and Yes it's installed.
I haven't finished installing it because you have to put power to the chip and install the Ant. Insturction are really not very good. I will get it finished but it's on the back burner now as I'm Modding my Viewpad 10 dual boot.

Yeah, that would be great
I really believe an external GPS would be much better, you can reorient to get the best signal. I have BT Delorme but can't seem to get it to pair even with BlueGPS.

When did they release Android 2.x that works on x86?! I would go out and get a Dell Inspiron Mini Duo if I could run Froyo or Honeycomb on it as a dual boot option...
I've posted in another thread about my external keychain GPS receiver from Freedom. It works fine if I want to use the GTab for navigation in the car. It may be similar to the receiver sold by this Ebay seller.
Here's what I have:

It'll be cool if there were cases made with gps built in for tablets.

Viewsonic Viewpad 10

Anyone have the new dual boot viewpad 10? I have one and loaded the New Update Andriod 2.2 for it but the Back key doesn't work. The wifi is not working correct.
Is there anyway to load drivers for this or is there other problems?
Thank you.
By the way I have opened mine up.
It now has 2GB Ram 64GB hard drive and soon built in GPS with Active patch Ant. You can also install the 3G modem if you like. All that is missing is the modem and Ant. Sims Card slot is there.
You make me want to sell my gtab and pick up one of these. Or just bite the bullet and give the gtab to the g/f and get a vpad for myself.

Couple of questions, my wife has a ViewPad 10:
- where did you get the Android 2.2 update? Was this from Viewsonic?
- do you know of a source for the mini-vga cable?
Thanks.

hmm... i'm surprised that there's actually a variant of 64GB SSD for this model because i could've sworn it only came w/ a 32GB SSD max built in for the VPad10... where'd you get your VPad10? also if memory serves... doesn't this tablet run on an intel pine trail processor and chipset (hence the win7 dual boot)? and where'd you get the froyo update? if i recall, current non ARM based processors only support up to android 1.6 (unless there's a ROM out there built from the ground up that runs on intel's hardware)

i don't think this was one of those frankenstein DIY upgrades since the VPad10 already comes w/ the specs mentioned
and while everything does sound great on paper, how's the battery life on it?

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 - *Internal* Card Slot Available?

So I really want the Galaxy tab 10.1, but why pay extra for the 32gb if the 16GB has a microSD card slot internally eh?
So thats what I want to know - does the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (ebay item: 110756156438), have a micro sd card slot INTERNALLY so I can crack it open put a quality 32GB card in and seal it up again?
Highly unlikely.
I'm pretty sure there is not a card slot inside. It's just like all other android devices that specify internal and external SD. The internal SD is hardwired. I'm not sure why they call it internal SD and not flash memory or NV memory as it only adds confusion. The best thing to do is get the 16 GB and buy the OTG usb host adapter on Ebay for $7 to connect a USB hard drive (that's what I did). Not worth an extra $100 for the 32 GB version IMO.
Damn you samsung, I can live with ALL the shortcomings of the Galaxy tab, but not the exclusion of a Micro SD card slot. It's a deal breaker - not just because I can add more storage but because should it get bricked I can grab my files from the SD card!
Then wait for the Toshiba AT200.
Or the Transformer 2?

Not this thread again. About 2 months there was a big debate about this. It ended when someone opened up a tab and confirmed there is NOT a slot internally.

Doesn't this come free with the tablet to begin with? I got one inside the box, so maybe they started including it later. Never used it yet, but I think this is what they threw in with the tab: http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-1PL0BEGSTA

Here is a link to a quadcore SOM board
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...L-KLD-RM-GS-JY-YZ-BN/1657211_32608448711.html
I bought my head unit from this seller. Had good communication with him, reliable seller.
I have RK3188 SoM 16GB in stock
IN USA I can ship you one for 85$ plus shipping
Hi ! thanks for your inputs
Did you notice a real difference between the dual core and the quadcore?
Thanks !
Is this compatible with KYD model?
I have the KD-c1908 from Pumpkin audio and they have been upgrading this unit.
the RK 3188.
They quoted me 70$ us shipped to me in canada from china for the board and 100 for the front higher resolution panel (complete minus som)
Now the question is do I do the display upgrade as well
I have noticed twice the speed when using google earth and I can simultaneously install several apps much faster than with the 3066. Not much of a benchmark I know but I would say it was worth the investment in the quad SOM.

The lcd is hidden under that, I haven't disassembled it any further than that yet.
There are 3 connections coming from the lcd/digitizer. In that picture there is: 1 two wire white plug for the backlight on the left. One small ribbon on the top for the digitizer and one long one on the top right for the lcd itself.
Do you have a picture of yours that would be similar ?

What Model does the eMMC in s9+ have?

hey
I have a broken s9+, the motherboard is dead (sadly) there are resistors that been fried from water damage and I just can't replace them!
so I am thinking of extracting the eMMC out, clean the chip and buy a socket to connect it to my PC and do a backup for everything on it
now I have 2 questions which :
1- what kind of eMMC does the Samsung s9+ have? and what socket do you guys recommend buying? if there is any good tutorial that I missed? and Google decided not to show me please link me it.
2-is it possible to clone the broken eMMC with the entire android system and data to another functional s9+ with the same memory capacity?
thnx..
There is no EMMC, Samsung S9+ has UFS Storage.

Please do not do it. You are required EasyJtag device with Pinouts which can be found on google easily and take pinouts from ufs storage and operate but you got to have professional skills to do it. Leave it be my advice, EasyJtag would cost you around 320$.
