Phone shutting down on it's own - HTC Droid DNA

My moonshined DNA is shutting down while in sleep mode and is unresponsive after that. I have to plug into charger wait a few seconds then power back up. I am running tranquil Rom with no other extras. It does it in any Rom I use basically. I am a new poster and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the phone get super hot at all? Sounds like a thermal shutdown if you have to plug it in to a USB to turn it back on.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app

Not hot at all. I'll use it then put in my pocket while I'm working and go to check the time or something and that's when I find it's off. Usually does it when the battery level is between 71-78%. I will try that though. I'll take out of case for a few days and see how that goes. Worth a shot.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium

I do have it in the otterbox commuter case and in my pocket constantly and the case never comes off.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium

Have you tried a different Rom and not use the tranquil?? Possibly the kernel is bad?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using XDA Premium HD app

Yeah, I'd check out the kernal - have you tweaked its (the kernel's) performance any?

I have used other sense 5 roms. And it had happened on other Rom also. I have not made any kernel tweaks. I took my case off and it's been good so far, will see today how it goes in the heatwave in my pocket with no case. I'll keep Ya guys posted, thanks for the help so far
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium

It's been a full day with no case on and no shutdowns . I'll give it a few more days to make sure
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda premium

Update.... The phone hasn't shutdown for a few days without the case on till this morning. Just did it again. Def did not overheat, think it's the kernal? Should I try to flash the stock kernal and try that or should I try palmers or something non stock?

Try stock.

Will give it a whirl. Just as some added info, when I plug into charger to get it to turn on my date and time revert back to Jan1 at 7 pm until I get internet connection if that gives any insite. And I dunno if it would make a difference but I have run 4.2.2 in the past and there are sdcard/0 folder on my phone. Thanks everyone for the help so far, it's really appreciated you guys are the best.

After you turn the phone on, grab a copy of /proc/last_kmsg and post a link to it. I'll take a look and see if it contains anything helpful.
If the phone is under warranty, I would consider giving Verizon a call...

Where will I find that

You should be able to get a copy by running:
adb pull /proc/last_kmsg
Which will save a copy of that file to the location from which you ran adb.

later it started to shut down by it self ! (reboot reboot again till the phone is set ?!WTF)... just left it charging ..came back and it reboots ..and get stuck in boot animation ! (I DON"T know what's the deal !) tried to hold power button for 1 min soft keys start flashing(annoying !) .. nothing happens!! it doesn't shut down !(Crappy phone ). I REALY hate HTC .
Believe me the Rom is FINE the kernel is fine too ,works like a charm the phone is crappy ,to get it working i have to take it apart ...and take off battery cable from mother board ..the start again. BAD PHONE BAD .
Has anyone found a solution for that ?!(i tried fix permission in recovery ! Nothing so special !!!)

You might just have to get a replacement because if you've Ruu that should have fixed whatever the issue was. You might can try to clean in recovery system.data.cache.internal. but be carefully that will delete the os off the phone so know what your doing.

reinstall rom manager and flash one ot the older cwm like the 4.0.1.5 not the 5.x.x.x
Try reflashing Clockwork recovery by following the instructions in this thread. It sounds like your recovery got screwed up or wiped out somehow. Use version 5.0.2.1. I think the version 5 issues are fixed in that one. If you still have issues try using one of the version 4.x ones.

Thanks guys I did it and got my phone and just FYI version five don't work on my tb so I will stay away from ROM manager!!!!! I still couldn't do a back up in recovery cuz it says error on restoring boot image ,once!again o beloved my SD card corrupt

And installed touch version a few hours ago. Works great. TWRP was very nice, but I've always been a Clockworkmod guy. Nice to be back...and with touch controls to boot. Excellent recovery.
I'm down with adb but I'm also lazy.
I bought it through RM and I'm glad to have clockwork on my EVO.

Random resetting

So I went from mean rom 3.4 to 4.1 and my phone started to reset around every 15 to 20 min. So I thought it was the rom and switched to stock rom with goodies and the phone is doing the same thing.. I have never had random reboots before this.
Each time I did a clean install.
Any advice? I was gonna go back to 3.4 but I will wait to see what you guys think.

[SGS3] very deep sleep and cant wake up

I am not sure this was posted or not, however if it has, please point me to the right direction as I am not able to find it.
Situation:-
Using the phone as per normal. It auto lock or manual lock it. Wanna unlock/wake up the phone it doesnt. This happened once in awhile not sure when as unable to determine the cause as sometimes running a game and I lock it and sometimes lock it without running anything i.e. back to home. To wake up, I reboot the phone by long pressing on/off button. Was using CheckRom ICS... And at one occurance the phone really died on me and unable to reboot no matter what I did. Sent in to SC and got back a new Motherboard.
Now it is happening again. Now in JB 4.1.2 (OmegaRom). The phone just fell in to a deep sleep and cant wake up unless I reboot the phone. I hope I dont get the forever slumber/sudden death situation again.
Anyone can give guidance or advise on how to check what is the matter or anyone having the same experience?
Flash back to stock and check if it occurs. If it does use triangle away and send it back in mate

happened to me too
I don't recall it happened to me while using stock touchwiz roms.
However, since I've moved to AOSP roms (first AOKP M1 and then JellyBam), it happened to me 3 or 4 times now.
Do you get it also on touchwiz roms? Which OmegaRom are you using?
Wich kernel are using my mates? Maybe that is problem, combination firmware and kernel...
Regards
using latest OmegaRom... as mentioned... first happened in CheckROm and even in Wanam...
Was using siyah kernel... so now testing Perseus and see wtr this happened or not...
Just happened when I have monster warlord running and locked it.. when I unlock... it happened again... must be something like not enuf ram or went into deep sleep... very strange indeed. Nevertheless change to Perseus to test out different kernel for now...

Same happened with my phone. Go to see what it's up to and suddenly its not responding. The only option is to hold power down until it reboots.
It would also do it on in coming calls and managed to delete a text which arrived shortly before it froze.
Hoped upgrading to the latest firmware would help, didn't. Going without root, nope. Freezing apps in Titanium, still no joy.
Finally this morning I had enough and went for a full wipe. Very little installed but no problems since.
Would suggest doing the same, especially if you plan to sell the phone anyway.

Just trying the official Vodafone rom now through Odin. If this doesn't solve it I think the phone will have to go back.
To note: issue appeared after installing some root apps. Notably adfree and beats drivers. Anybody else have either installed?

When did it happen? Was it around Wednesday last week? Just thinking that maybe an updated app or something?
I have now updated again using kies with the official 4.1.2. I have no problems with restarts when using the stock apps. I have however had issues with the google servers and now believe this to have been the main reason for the crashes earlier (Christmas new phone activation traffic?).
Out of interest, have you been running adfree or the beats audio driver? I had mine working all day yesterday, installed both and then the hangs started coming back again.
Also worth noting that adfree now states that a newer version is available when loading up, but non exists (that i know of?)

I do run AdFree, and yeah, I saw the notice about the new version - it's a different app entirely... still called AdFree, uninstall the old one, and install the new one. Not sure why they did that.
I'm at a loss - I just reinstalled XELL4, and it's still doing it. Short of doing a full wipe and starting afresh (which I really can't be bothered with), I don't know what else to try. Was working fine up until now.

Screen not as responsive anymore?

Okay, well, for a while I was trying to get bootloader unlocked on p769, and couldnt figure it out.. and had the wonky touch screen and what not.. so I had to use cwm restore, and flash radio/touch fix .. and im currently on v10g ICS.. but something is weird.. ive noticed my screen is less responsive.. like I have to click things multiple times, or push harder then usual.. is this abnormal to happen after what i've done? or am I just crazy and its not really as unresponsive as it seems?(which I swear it is.. its weird)

It's the KDZ you have. ICS is no where near as smooth as JB. The reason being that JB has Project Butter, and the ICS ROM for our phone was poorly designed/handled/released.
If you flash up to JB again, you'll have that buttery goodness once again ^-^

I tried to get him to flash a US kdz maybe he would have saved a lot of stress.

Flashing with R&D tool comes with risk. You can get a security error, won't operate, or crash while flashing. Having & using cwm is the safety route IMO.
Plus using the offline flash probably won't fix the inverted u-boot (LG logo).

I would still recommend the LG tools for anybody that is desperate about fixing their phone. It helped me out a great deal. Actually offline flash helped my LG logo and mirrored screen. After that all I had to do was flash the touch fix.

Im sorry, I was at work.. didn't really have much time to explain how I got it fixed or who helped.. but yes, thanks Kuma for the help. I appreciate it.
But there wasn't really anything wrong with the phone.. I tried to unlock the bootloader.. flashed the kdz, did all the shenanigans, but couldn't get it to unlock, and I was stuck with the wonky touch screen on the kdz i was using. So all I really could do is flash radio.zip and touch fix, and then do a restore of a backup I found on this forum using cwm, which Kuma helped me do.
Now im on v10g ICS, and the battery life so far is amazing.. I just am having a really hard time not letting this touch screen stuff bother me. Sometimes its so unresponsive.. I wouldn't mind going back to JB, but I wanna keep this battery life. Im just having a hard time believing there's this much of a difference between ICS and JB.. my phone normally would only last 12 hours, then i'd have to charge it again.. Now, its been off the charger for almost 12 hours and its not even at 60% .. so do you guys really think if I went back to JB, and uninstalled the same bloatware I uninstalled now, the battery would be significantly worse?

Try it out. If you're not happy with it go back to ics. You will never know unless you try it for yourself.

Trial & error
You are the best judge
Jellybean isn't that bad IMO, but I'm already due for a new battery. My phone is already a year old. Something to remember about Jellybean, the default settings for wifi(if turned on) , is to stay on when the phone is a sleep. However you can change it.
To improve responsiveness on ice you need to tweak the build.prop. I can't think of the tweak right now. Anyways I used android tuner app to fix it and I never had problems again. However, the app has updated and changed since. Some of the free tweaks aren't free anymore. I'll try to find the code you need.
Oh and thanks for giving me my props

Yeah idk.. I just know when I had stock rom from metropcs, my battery life would last maybe 12 hours of decent use.. now its lasting probably close to 24 hours without having to charge it. But if you could help me possible fix the responsiveness would be nice.
Also, I asked in another thread, which I dont think anyone knows the real answer, even after searching for it I couldnt find it.. but since im on 10g ICS, it keeps popping up and telling me to upgrade to JB.. is there anyway to remove the update notifications? I've read a few sites.. they mostly just say to freeze 2 things using root, and I tried that.. didn't seem to work. Just sucks, cause everytime I unlock my screen, it tells me to install it

I can't help you with the constant update nagging. There are a couple of threads on the subject, but they never lasted. However, I haven't tried them all, There's another option besides messing with those two apps but I can't remember.
To fix responsiveness add these tweaks to the build.prop
# Increases touch responsiveness
debug.performance.tuning=1
# Increases touch & video something lol
video.accelerate.hw=1
# Increases scrolling responsiveness
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
