Noozxoide CodexHD - SoundMOD to increase volumes! - HTC One X+

Hey there,
For the people out there who think that the stereo volumes on aosp roms and the likes are too low compared to the sense roms, here is the solution.
Flash this package:
http://d-h.st/PhS
Once you've flashed this you need to select Noozxoide in:
Settings -> Sound -> Music effects
Choose Noozxoide EIZO-rewire PRO Series (obviously)
Now you can play with the settings which you find best suited for your music taste. Open up the Noozxoide app!
Now you see this menu:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

}
Line-Out Audio Monitor is meant for the headphones and Built-In Audio Monitor is for the stereo speakers the hox+ is packing.
Now go to the Built-In Audio Monitor and scroll down a bit to the Digital Presents (you can obviously play around with whatever you like but I'm now just showing you my settings)
Personally I have it set to Gaming (PSYC) but you can set it to whatever you like ofcourse.
Well guys, have fun with it and I hope I've helped you out with this.
Credits go to codexc over at the HOX forums, just de-bloated his audio mod for us!
Kind regards,
Mr. Potato12

Try it and find out
I find it a bit less of a quality but definitely as loud, but I should play around more with the settings.. Haven't bothered as of yet
Anyway, could you edit your post to not quote the entire first post? Thanks

I tried this, because the sound volume of the AOKP rom i use from maxwen is my only problem at the moment (normal speaker on the front). I often can't hear people on the phone well enough when there is some noice from e.g. streets.
So finding this let me hope, but after activating Noozxoide and setting volume enhancer to max I could not hear any differences... :\

Thanks for the feedback, think I know what the problem is.. the enhancements are only made to the speaker on the backside and not to the speakers on the frontside
So this mod might not be what you're looking for but would be more suited for people that listen to music or something through their speakers, sorry mate!

I think we can only hope the correct drivers become available one day so that AOSP based roms have better audio. I've tried all kinds of apps and mods, some work a little but generally I find it just makes the speaker even more tinny sounding.

Thank You :good:

how can i uninstall it???
how can i uninstall it???

ist there still no solution for this? :\
I'm really thinking of selling the peace because it renders useless for me --> No client certificates in e-mail client with original ROM, no acceptable sound level on the phone with custom ROMs :\

Since this is a flashable zip, you can not uninstall it...

Guys! This will not work with the new AOSP roms! The audio drivers were fixed and we don't use the ICS blobs from the HOX anymore, therefore making this mod useless.
P.S.: To uninstall just dirty flash your rom again without wiping, there is indeed no uninstall script.

Since my ICS rom lacks the Beats Audio EQ, I decided I'd play around with DSP manager to get a beats audio like sound. To my surprise, I found an EQ that in my opinion, that sounds better than the beats audio EQ found in the stock HTC music player. Use these settings in DSP and tell me what you think!
That sounds good but I use these with beats enabled
The dynamic range is off
sent from my sexy Htc Rezound
Nicee. I'm gonna be playing around with this a lot but so far, this is the best sound I've got. The bass is absolutely rediculous.
I also use both Beats and DSPManager together.
I'm sure with enough tweaking you could get the same sound without the BEATS EQ, but why bother?? Beats makes it simple (with ANY headset) and sounds awesome.
EQ's always sound better/worse with different kinds of music. Something that sounds amazing for dubstep sounds like garbage for country.

Well yeah, but I listen to the same type of music, Hip-Hop/Rap. That type of music is heavy in bass and the settings I use make it sound incredible.
There was actually a whole five page thread about this a little while ago, All the DSP posted are meant to enhance beats, but they honestly sound amazing with beats turned off, too. The second image in post 24 is the one I use the most, that plus virtual room turned to stage has a very interesting but pleasing sound once you get used to it. [Please note than some ROMs for some reason handle the virtual room settings differently, ineffabilis GB 1.0 for some reason doesn't play nice with virtual room settings, but stock and CleanROM 1.6.5 does]

Please tell me your running ICS cause no version of DSP at all will work on ICS well at least the roms I ran. Worked on GB but no sound changes when applying on ICS.

None of the EQ's work in ICS.
power amp full works with ics and has a sweet eq, at least it does on my prime running ics. it has a nice ui with lost of features
I use both DSP along with Poweramp Eq to get a nice mixed sound.

Exactly. I listen to a lot of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/Hardcore and Beats kind of pisses me off at times because the thumping from the double bass drum and detuned bass guitar drowns out the guitars and vocals at times.

I'm running ICS (newtroot's senseless 4.0.3 v1.0) and I notice considerable changes in sound. I can post the apk of my DSP if you'd like.
A lot of the Pixel Nex (GalNex) users stated they were using volume + without any issues.
I use volume+ works pretty dam good, I use the diddy beats ear buds most of the time. They sound absolutely amazing with my tweaks... The ibeats (stock ).sound really good too,
just tried both dsp and volume+ (paid version) on cleanROM 2.3 (ICS) and had absolutely no change in the audio, either on the headset (beats) or speaker.
In ICS, there is a setting we don't have under sounds for media effects that needs to be enabled. Using volume+, it tried to take me to that setting but it doesn't exist on my ROM.

If you wouldn't mind , I would like that apk if you have time to post it. I am at work so no hurry. Thank you
I have Volume Control Plus (paid version). I have used it in my last 4 phones & I love being able to lock the volume so I don't accidentally turn off the ringer etc while it's in my pocket.
I don't see any EQ type settings anywhere in the app however. Am I talking about the wrong app or am I just missing some settings???

Headphone volume to loud at minumum

Hey guys, I've been having some problems with volume control on most of the roms out there. Most of the roms I've tried so far seem to have a loud volume at the lowest level. An exception would be Shotock2, which has perfect volume control in my opinion. But i'd like to use other roms based on AOSP or other Samsung bases. Is there a way to edit the volume control in someway? I made this post after I've tried everything i can think of. That includes using fluxxi kernel and its volume control options, using audioboost apps, and using softer equalizer settings. But nothing has worked for me. I was hoping to see if it was possible to edit some file somewhere on the system that allows you to bring down the volume. Any help would be great.
Maybe not the answer you're looking for but, have too tried headphones with a volume control on them?

I've tried my Skullcandy in-ear earphones which i use the most, but i've also tried those Apple earphones and a few others. They all make my ears hurt on lowest volume.
If the ROM you're using has DSPManager, try lowering the bars on the equalizer under 'headset' (after enabling it of course). I know it works for music but I'm not sure about apps and other things
Edit: I missed the part where you said you've already tried this, my bad still worth another shot though, I've had this problem before

You've dealt with this before? Do you remember the actions you took? It would help me out a lot.
I just tried out Serendipity 9.4 and it had the same problem, lowest volume too loud for my ears. I'll try out stock UCLE5 and see if the problem is there too, i dont think it was the last time i ran that rom.

I'm trying to remember as this was a quite a long time ago. On the lowest setting, the audio was so loud that I was able to hear it without putting the headphones on (well, I had earbuds) I had this issue with CM7 and CM9. I went into DSPManager and enabled Bass Booster (it seems to lower the volume a bit) and enabled the equalizer. I set the equalizer to about this (Remaking it to my best estimate to what I had the equalizer set to before)

Afterwards I ran a few apps then played a few songs. It was much quieter than before. What's strange though, is that when I flashed AOKP several months ago, the volume was much quieter and I was able to turn the equalizer up a bit. Sorry if I don't seem like much help, just sharing what I did to fix this but it might not work for everyone. Phones are weird

I've tried this too but i felt like it kinda ruined the point of an equalizer. Thanks for the suggestion though. Honestly I'd stick with Shotock2 if the battery life wasn't so bad on my phone. I love that rom.
I just downloaded this app is called Fine Volume and it works great for lowering the volume down to 1 percent even.

I'm not an audiophile or something like that, and I barely use my device for music but of course people would want the best if possible and I am not good at judging sound quality so my opinion would probably be not at all reliable here. I wanted a comparison from, say, an expert's experience between the 2.

And how would you determine a person an "expert" at listening to music? As ultimately that's the end result no matter which app you choose.
Choosing a music app and determining which is best, is subjected to personl taste. Which features work the best for you. Sorting, organizing your music… all subjected to what you prefer. Then there's asthetics - also subjected to what you prefer.
It is mostly what you use to enhance your sound that gives the supreme end result..the app you use for that is far more important, as well as the speaker you transmit it to, as surely you wouldn't want your listeners listening with the tablet speakers.
Try walkman with viper4android sound enhancement. Get a really good bluetooth speaker. Have one of your expert friends help you tweak the sound using viper, set up some awesome playlists in walkman, and you'll be the dj at every event… .

I agree, almost everything is a personal preference but of course a review given by somebody who knows what he is talking about is a better reference. I only want to know if it is better than stock Apollo app on cm11, on which aspects, and why. Regular mipad users would probably use headset or tablet speakers for music/audio output. Then why bother? Well because, and I'm just speaking for myself here, I just want to have what is better if available and attainable, and probably others do too. I also want to know what I have (features, performance, etc) in case the time comes that I really need to make use of it.

You need to hear a difference even with notification sound
Refer to this frequency response curve.
My audio settings, and poweramp settings are included. I don't use both at the same time. Also, if an equalizer app isn't causing a lower volume, it's giving you a placebo effect and a ton of distortion.

this indeed sounds good, i only used system wide one . i dont use poweramp
Poweramp Equalizer. I think it is the best Equalizer for wide system bass efficiency from speakers. S23 ultra.

Why not?
so, if I don't wanna use an app, but only the system EQ, what settings do you recommend? I want deep bass but also loudness; thanks!
...nevermind; i followed post #1 instructions, I finally understood that I should make both adjustments and I used the moded/pro version of flat eq (app)
so, regarding the setting in post #1 (flat EQ + internal EQ): not happy at all; I tested them and I had a lot of distortions at volume above 70%; so, I tested other solutions that were presented by the same german forum and I am much more happy with this one (only internal EQ, no external app):
Dolby Atmos: ON (Auto)
EQ: as in image
Adapt Sound: ON, MAX (>60) - only for headphones

Some questions about this.
On the Adapt sound part. Im guessing you mean MAX (for 60+ years old sound adjustment?)
Secondly, In there you also have the option to change between 'Clear' and 'Soft' sound if you press the settings wheel beside the 60+ option. which one should it be there?
And lastly. When you say "only for headphones", do you mean the option 'Only for Media', where you can choose only for media or media/calls?

Previously used wavelet but tried Poweramp based off of your comment, tweaked some presets to my taste and got blown out of the water by the sound output from his app. The flat equalizer I tried as well was nowhere compared to poweramp. I quickly bought the app. It got shït ton of options at your disposal to produce crisp sound with punchy bass.
Viper4Android & RE Equalizer
These are in a league of their own for volume/ base enhancement, including system-wide effects.
I don't like this setting, too oriented towards high and mid.
But I guess is about taste.
Anyway, do we really need and
