Best Wireless Screen Mirroring Option? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hey all
Just wondering what would be the best option to mirror the note screen wirelessly on my tv? To be able to see the home screen and play games. I have heard of dongles and other external devices to connect as a receiver to the tv...but would think would be an application solution through dlna like you can do with allshare that only can do videos, photos and music
Any ideas? Thanks

Mine too. I use MHL adaptor. But thats not what you want to do. Wireless to a non-wireless tv is the rub.
Apple tv is the idea you want. There is a wireless adaptor for tv and lcd projectors from netgear or linksys. They are called media adaptors or some such thing.

Anyone know how I can watch my media hub tv shows for free???? Basic cable is free!!!

This isn't basic cable!
Where in the heck do you live that any kind of cable is free? I've never lived anywhere where any cable service is free.
I do know of one way, but you need aTV tuner card connected to your pc. Then you can use orb to stream recklessly to your phone. IMHO the better wow factor comes from the movies. You can easily convert your dvds and video files with handbrake. That's where it's at!

TV out on cm7

Hey guys I recently got a 32 inch flat screen which has an HDMI so I wanted to see photos and videos on my phone on there but I don't believe much has happened with TV out has it

If you have a ps3 hooked up to said tv and its (the ps3) on your home network you can download imediashare from the market and it will allow you to use your ps3's media server to display any photos and some movies that are on your phone wirelessly through your network. I believe an app named allshare will also work, this may also work if you have an xbox instead...I'm not positive b/c I dont own one but I believe they have media servers on them also, or if your tv has internet access and us hooked up to your local network, in that case it will work as well. But for me when I want to see pics on the big screen...i turn on tv, turn on ps3 click a few buttons and viola! Pics on the tv! I know its not the same as the tv out mod but either way if you have all those components whats the worst that happens...you download an app...dont like it and delete...no harm, no foul! Hope this helps!

Not a ps3 my TV has a USB spot and when I try to display what's on my phone it wont show

I believe what you are looking for requires taking a couple different cables and modifying them to work...a far as I know the original usb cable that come with your phone does not have the pin out required to transmit video directly via usb. I remember reading something about the tv out mod a while back but I dont remember if they had any luck with it working...search the forum...i believe it was titled "tv out mod" our something like that but its not going to be as simple as plugging in your usb cable into the tv and having it pop up on the screen...i wish I had more info for ya but hopefully someone will chime in with some relevant info for ya.

It sounds like you're trying to get your TV to read your phone as a mass storage device. Kinda like a flash drive, but I don't know if your TV could detect the phone like that. Try plugging in the USB cable between the phone and TV, then turning on the 'mass storage' mode on your phone.

I did attempt that and it wont read it

Photon and XBox 360

May not be big new to those who have owned a DLNA enabled phone before, but coming from HTC phones over the past few years, I wanted to share with Photon users/XBox owners. The Photon can act as a server for your music, videos and pictures...streaming them to your XBox. Anyone already doing this?
Not yet but I will be. Thanks for sharing that. ;-)

You can also do it from the gallery. Open the gallery app, tap the menu button, settings, tap media share settings, check media share and also check Support XBox. You will want to be connected to wifi. Your XBox doesn't have to be on wifi, but at the very least it needs to be connected to the same access point via Ethernet.
Yeah DLNA is pretty sweet. It will also work on your ps3. Just don't try and stream any HD videos or it will lag like a mug.

There is an app called imedia share that wotked decent on my evo and nexus s to my tv (samsung tv with allshare but no apps other than media play for usb and dlna support) which also allows you to stream youtube and facebook content.
Only reason to run it that way is plasma tv + ps3 does fair good with the electric bill people.

[Q] HDMI for Tablet S1

Is there a HDMI output on the Sony S1?
Getting one soon. And i want to connect it to my Bravia Tv.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
That would be a simple 'no' my friend. Unfortunately, there is no hdmi. The only ports on this tablet are a full sd card slot, and a mini usb. Hopefully, Sony plans on releasing a dock or something? But for now. No hdmi.

You can link it using DLNA or Remote Control
Both easy to set up
DLNA works for listening or watching movies on your TV, kind of similar to HDMI but wirelessly

use DLNA
i'm pritty sure that Bravia TVs support it
Yes dlna is great, but cannot compare AT ALL to a direct video hook up. Plus, you would need a dlna server ( computer) to stream your content. An hdmi would only require the tablet to view anything that's stored on it. Dlna doesn't stream content from the files located on the tab itself. Its completely different than what the op is curious about.

I suppose the microUSB port could also be an MHL>HDMI port. Can't find it mentioned in the specs anywhere though. My HTC Flyer's port is MHL, and essentially doubles as HDMI-out if you need it.
I've got an LG Smart TV above my home PC, and DLNA allows any of my tablets using the right app to send video/movies directly to it over WiFi. Not the same as mirroring the whole UI on the TV which you do usually get if a tablet has any form of HDMI-output.

Ok. You're right about that. However, not all dlna-certified devices support the same file formats. Like my bravia will play any picture or sound, but it will not play any videos from android. A samsung will because it has integrated support. So, an hdmi cable will 'obviously' play anything connected to it because it's a direct stream. Also, dlna is best used with a dmc server. Than it would allow any/most formats.
