[Q] Alarm clock auto snoozing? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Recently I thought my alarm wasn't going off in the morning anymore. However I found out that the alarm has been auto snoozing itself after exactly one minute. It usually takes me around 2-3 minutes to get up (I'm a heavy sleeper) so this is a problem. I'm on Jelly "Beans" build 5. I don't want to use an alternative alarm clock since I like the smart alarm feature and the stock app overall just fits with touchwiz. I've already tried clearing app data and wiping dalvik cache/cache. Any help would be appreciated!

Alarm not reliable?

I am getting frustrated with this as I have been late two times last two weeks because the alarm clock has not activated.
The phone is on (witch is stupid, should be able to wake up and ring as every old phone is capable of doing) but it is on, the alarm sound is adjusted to the highest level and still sometimes for no reason it does not ring! The alarm is still active (one time alarm) when I wake up 1-2h later so nothing has happened, it just skipped to ring.
Is there a remedy for this because it is a MAJOR problem. I don't want to have to buy a alarm clock for that job, it is a smartphone for crying out loud and my stupid 10 year old nokia does this without any problems 100% reliable...
When you use app such as taskkiller and kill clock process then alarm will not ring. Before going sleep restart your phone and dont touch taskkiller. Or add clock to ignored list.
go to clock settings>alarms and click on one alarm which you want...let's say first one..you will see numbers, description, alarm sound...etc
click alarm sound and instead of clicking a tone, just click the side button (volume) and you will seethe green bar as if you were changing your ringer volume...just set it to desired level
and note that this has nothing to do with phone being in vibrate or silent mode..it will ring regardless
i had the same issue until i figured out how to deal with it
and trust me...the phone itself ad the alarm are reliable
I agree with both of these answers.
I had exactly the same problem before i added the clock to the ignore list. It will still show the alarm as activated, but it will not ring.
Do both and you should be fine.
shutting down third party apps with a task manager is one thing , but leave the pre-installed android apps alone. they're running for a reason, dammit
Thanks guys you were right the taskkiller did kill the alarm, it appeared still to be active in the settings and icon in the notification bar (that confused me) but the alarm did not go off. Added it to the whitelist and tested a couple of times - worked fine!
Why does it not work when turned off? The clock keeps the time while the phone is off, so it seems natural that the alarm would also work - maybe a 2.1 update? Older phones would power up for the alarm..
Thanks again!
it's just not something that works on HTCs. They're designed to be on all the time.
i use advanced task killer free and everything works..no problem with such things...
i switched to ATK because taskiller seemed to consume too much memory
i tried ATK while taskiler was on and i had ...25-30 mb less memory then i uninstalled taskiller and got those back....
strange...how can a utility consume so much ram

Click to collapse
show me a single smartphone that does this...
you are confusing cellphones and smartphones here. smartphones are designed to be on all the time, that is why they invented the airplane mode.
take it easy please,be friendly and try not to sound rude
thanks

[Q] Single-app ROM (alarm clock)

Hey everyone,
I'm not an Android developer, just a user who knows how to flash a ROM.
I use Gentle Alarm as my clock, and I want a way to have just Gentle Alarm without any other apps running, and without even being able to run anything else. Basically, I want to convert my smartphone into a dumb alarm clock at night, and make it so that I have to reboot it to start messing with email, twitter, etc.
The reason I don't use a regular "dumb" alarm clock (which is ideal for me, really) is that I need something that vibrates and doesn't ring.
Any ideas?
Maybe turn airplane mode on. It will turn off your data connection, so no notifications to bother you at night. Plus, you don't need to reboot in morning

[Q] Ringtones/Alarm tones

I've been running into problem, where at random intervals my alarm clock, Gentle Alarm, and Ringo both seem to lose their custom ringtone/alarmtones and revert back to defaults. I've tried blocking them from being closed by the battery saving software, and then they seem to work for a few days. Ringo still works, but Gentle Alarm just reset itself again. Any ideas?

Alarm clock on Cyanogenmod M & N not reliable

Hi! : )
I have issues with stock alarm clock on CM. It's something that need to be completely reliable, or it's useless.
Sometimes it works well, sometimes don't.
After some hours with the phone on standy (when I'm sleeping), when the alarm sets off it turn the screen on, play 1 sec. of the chosen sound, and it automaticly turns off by itself.
Some time ago I found that if I set the vibration on it worked, but now it's not working anymore, at least it's not working all the times.
One other thing I did was setting clock apps not to be battery optimizes. Don't know exactly if it helped much.
I'm on official CM14.1 build (12/11) with no custom kernel, and today the alarm failed again.
Can someone help, please? Does anyone have the same issues? Maybe it has to do with deep sleep.
I don't want to use non stock apps, I've tried them but then the alarm volume had to be set by de media volume, and I don't want to rely on that setting, I want the alarm volume to be the alarm volume.
Thanks! : )
using RR 5.7.4. based on MM with Radon 3.1 Kernel and never expirienced such a problem. maybe you want to give it a try? since a few weeks im using the sony alarm clock which you can find here on xda, design wise its better in my opinion.
Thanks! I prefer to stick with stock app, I don't mind the design and I don't deslike it either. Really like to get it to work perfectly, so I can rely on it.
I'm using greenify, but I guess it's not affecting it - it never did on other phones and roms.
This app fixed my issue. No more missed alarms. : )

Well ... You don't want to use any other app but then issue is solved with another app ? so I still recommend the Sony alarm clock, no stupid inapp purchases and adverts...
I didn't wanted to used external apps, but I was forced to, since I could not fix my issue any other way. I could try the app you suggest, can you give me a link, please? Thanks for your reply and help. : )
same issue on CM here. seems that if you put the alarm on 'every day' it does usually work fine. Still not very usefull though

Alarm Clock not Working Properly

Has anyone had any issues with the alarm clock on the S8? I got mine in February, and since day one, the alarm clock feature has never worked properly. Specifically, the repeat feature doesn't work. I can set the alarm for say 7:00am and have it repeat every day. The first day it will work from initially setting it, but it won't work on subsequent days. Ironically, it will display a 'missed alarm' message, which isn't ideal when you're reading it at 8:00am
The only way I can get it to work for the next day is to switch that alarm off and then on again.
Yes, I know I could buy an alarm clock, but that's not the point.
