[Q] Unlockable How 60 FPS in UI? Just modifying the kernel? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello I bought a Chinese cell, Mlais MX58 Air, but its UI is limited to 32 FPS, is there any way to unlock or limit to 60 FPS?
Could do this by modifying the kernel? You can modify a kernel or pick up another device and add my information?
I would try to use this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249808
Here comes the Android 4.2.1 ROM with full Project Butter experience with UI running @ 60+ FPS* making our W8 a real beast!

Any suggestions or is it better to give up and buy another device?
Thank you.

You would have to use a kernel made for that device. Another kernel from a different device will not work on yours But as China almost never releases the kernel source for their devices you maybe out of luck.

A while ago was released the source code of MTK6589, that serve?
Just wanted to add 60 FPS in the UI, nothing more.

That's is a chipset. Not the kernel. They are 2 completely different things.

To be honest yes. You are better off not getting a clone device or anything really with that chipset as it is mostly never supported after bought and has no after market support.

Understand... than you know any launcher that runs at 60 fps?
Because this is the only thing that bugs me.
Thanks for the replies man.

I dont think launchers change the fps but try out Apex Launcher for a smoother experience.

Hi guys,
I'm looking to get an android device for my OH. She's not that tech-savvy (though she knows a bit as my geekyness rubs off on her), however I simply don't trust stock firmware so I'll want a custom ROM on it. She will be using the phone as a phone/web browser/camera/games. What's this device like in terms of usability, battery life etc? Does the 800mhz cpu cause lag at all? If I can get it for under £100 is it worth it, or should I fork out the extra £50 for a X10 Mini Pro?
As for the CM firmware, is it gingerbread?
Sorry for the semi off-topic post but I don't trust phone salesmen and the xda community know what they are talking about =]
Hi there
if you're talking about x8 then the processor is 600mhz, not 800.
For me it's really a question of what kind of games does she like to play because for things like email, web and some other random stuff X8 is just fine now that we have a flash player working too.
About games i can say that i have some real troubles trying to play some of them, even overclocking (my processor only supports 710mhz max) and most of the time we have to take a look on web to search for a modified version for our X8.
If i can give you a suggestion i have a friend at work that bought almost for the same price a Samsung Galaxy Gio gt5660, take a look. It has 800mhz processor, and has upgrade from samsung to 2.3.3 with flash player support.
hope i helped you.
If you use the overclock module from gc 7.3 you can reach 768mhz,and if you use the new 2.3.7 gb version you can set the frequency from 768 minto 768 max

Thanks for the info, its greatly appreciated. Basically shes currently using a iphone 3G thats donkey years old with no power button or volume rocker. It's slow as moses. She plays games from the market but no 3d racing or online rpgs, just puzzle games and minigames (rat on the run, angry birds etc). I'm looking to get her a phone thats quite nice but not really expensive. The main features need to be decent speed (no lagging on phone menus like with the iphone) and it must be future-proof (which is why I want a phone that has active custom development).
I can pick up the X8 for £75, the Galaxy Gio seems to be around £120 with the X10 Mini Pro at £150. If I can't find a good deal I might just give her my hd2 and buy a new flagship device xD
tl;dr Thanks for the info!

[Q] XXLPQ [i9100 official ICS update] Processor Management Solution

Hey guys, so I was wondering if there's a processor management solution out there compatible with XXLPQ.
Also, if anyone knows if there's an app that lets you disable one processor and OC the other? I'd imagine that'd increase battery life without reducing the performance.
Anyway, thanks for reading!
ICS is designed for multi core support, I believe OC one core and disable the other will screw the overall performance.

Do really you think thousands of engineers working at Samsung, the top electronics company in the world, are idiots and some loser in his parents' basement is going to come up with a better CPU management solution?

GTFO. I didn't ask for your piece of **** unhelpful hate. The guy above explained, ICS is designed for multi-core.
I also mentioned that it shouldn't take a drastic hit on performance, it will, but I doubt most of us would notice. Now go back to your basement and jack off like you always do you f***ing loner.

Cool. Do you know an over-clocking app compatible with this OS version though? I'd like to underclock my 2 cores to 800mHz to save some battery.

Ok not LPQ yet but.
Siyah kernel and extweaks app lets you play with the thresholds that the 2nd core cuts in and out. I think other custom kernels do it too.
I haven't played with it but worth investigating. Only a matter of time before Samsung release kernel sources and these blokes update the goods.

You know that It isn't the correct section, don't you?
so why ask for it here??
Galaxy Ace has an ARMV6 processor, it is too old for current heavy games, roms are modifyed to get the best balance between this 2 topic, you can barebone it, doing OC your performance might be reduced...

Improve camera and speed overall, stop lagging

Hi to all,
first to say, I am not M4A owner, but, in my company lots of people got it as company phone (8GB versions) and everyone complains...
Primarily, lagging, lack of internal memory, camera too slow, and I saw it myself, that LP SW is real pain in the a....
I had previously Z2, Z ultra, Z3C, and now Z3+ , and really likes Sony phones, and although all these were flagships, I am sure M4A can perform better.
So, what do you, users, recommend?
Ideas:
- rooting, custom recovery
- exposed
- some scripting like skynet project
- is there some better camera SW that will speed up camera performance
- What is the best way to solve memory issues etc...
I'd like to help (at list some of them, willing to play with it)...But I need real info from users that improved their user experience...

In my opinion, the only thing that really could improve the overall performance of this device is an optimized kernel. The first firmware for this phone was great in terms of performance, then it started going downhill and the recent updates made a sort of "uphill" but still bad. Storage and performance is what limits the satisfaction of using this phone - other than that, everything is great!
Gaming is very bad i don't know why I had Xperia tx 1G ram 2 core but it's much better than m4 with 2 G ram 8 core why? camera is just bad very slow hope someone just fix them we need real devloper because it's software problems not hardware

This method is based on modifying interactive governor. So you need root access. You can do this by 2 ways. The first is kernel auditor (also requires busybox). Just set up interactive parametres as i wrote on 4pda. I think you will understand how to do this. The 2 way is to put init.qcom.post_boot.sh into system/etc with right permissions. It's the same, but as for me it's more comfortable. You can just change governor to ondemand, but phone will randomly rebooting

Yes, but situation is better than if you set ondemand. If you want to cool down your phone, just change thermal engine file. You can download it here, on xda. As for me, i don't give a f... about overheating. You can cook everywhere)
Thanks, will give it a try...

Nope. This is more advanced than just changing governor. You have to manually change some interactive governor parametres.

Don't rely on benchmark. It's the day to day use that matters. There's a lot of good roms that you can check in the forums. Personally im using pixel experience 12L.

At the end of the day, all the roms are based on same trees, so more or less theyre all the same. Some roms have a bit more optimized some components than others, but +- all the same.
