Yeah it's a great convenience comparing to the stock softkey! Now I can use my phone easily with just my right hand thumb!

Does it work just like ParanoidAndroid? Slide finger to any side of the screen?

You'd better try it out! It's easily customizable. There're many pie-activate positions in the latest release (1.910) (right and bottom, right and left, etc)

well im having trouble with this app when playing games like avengers initiative or minion rush. the game sumtimes take so much RAM it FC the pie control, n sumtimes i have to wait several minutes for the pie to restart. i tried making the pie a system app, or using local.prop to make the pie unkillable, but no luck. so i had to revert back to normal with buttons

I use LMT and play Minion Rush - too - and even Real Racing 3 without any problem. Maybe the key is that I have Ram Manager Pro configured the suitable memory policy for my specified demands.
Have a look on it (at Play store)! :good:

Hey Wytosandroid, how did you remove/hide your navbar?
I'm so looking forward to using PIE because it's hard for me to reach the back button (left handed)
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the quick response!
Did you use UDN to hide the navbar too? I wonder if the "dangerous method" would work.. and if the build.prop tweak will be able to brick my device? Cause otherwise I could just re-flash my ROM and it'll be fixed I guess :silly:
The safe method requires "Xposed module", I'll research on that in the meanwhile
Thanks again!

[MOD]AOSP enabled navbar - AOSP ROMS and GE only

To be clear, these will only work for AOSP ROMs and the GoogleEdition ROM.
Threw these together for myself. Love having the navbar but it is a pain to add every nightly I flash. So I threw this together. I made two versions. One simply adds the navbar and disables the capacitive menu and back buttons (with them active the navbar becomes nearly impossible to use) and triggers the navbar. Fear not, this mod triggers the in app menu overflow access and for that matter you could then create a menu on the navbar. I couldn't automate disabling the backlight so that will still need to be disabled via settings>advanced>sensors. I also made a version that changes the device DPI from 480 to 360 (my preferred DPI).
Download - AOSP_navbar_enabled.v3.zip
Base version above now allows OTA survival. Will reapply itself after each nightly.
Download - AOSP_navbar_enable_360dpi.zip
Download - AOSP_remove_NAVBAR.v3.zip
Here is the method to inject changed into the build.prop that I used (found here)
On the GoogleEdition ROM it does not support disabling the capacitive button backlights natively so the app from the following thread is needed

Of course you are welcome to your opinion!! And in part I agree. That is why I run at 360dpi, that way it has less of an impact on the display. I know it is not for everyone, but choice is the spice of life.

Thanks for this. Is it possible to only activate the in app menu overflow without adding the nav bar? It's so much more intuitive to have that, rather than guessing whether or not the menu button will do anything within each app (the whole reason google got rid of the menu button in the first place).
I wish I knew how!! To be frank, when you enable the navbar and disable the capacitive buttons it activates the menu overflow within apps all by itself. Must be part of the navbar framework. But let me look into it. I MIGHT have an idea but it would be ROM specific, not a general mod like this. What ROM are you running or would like such a feature for?

I will try for the GE port, it should be an easy mod. These don't work on stock touchwiz as it doesn't have the needed framework for the navbar. For some reason Samsung gutted the navbar from their source

★How To Get True Immersive Mode/Fullscreen/Expanded Desktop in ANY Rom★

Want true fullscreen in any 7.1.1 Nougat rom? Want to be able to get maximum viewing space on your 6p? I have a treat for you!
Although the 6p screen is very large, I'm a huge proponent of maximizing screen real estate.
I found this setup is awesome because it gives you so much more viewing screen for everyday use. For example, in Chrome, now you can see so much more of a web page and it makes your viewing space so much better:
1) All in One Gestures App: enable fullscreen (within the app to get true fullscreen/immersive mode. Expanded desktop rocks. Massively improved viewing space baby!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...gestures&hl=en
2) Download Swipe Navigation App: from playstore. This is AWESOME. Enables swipe gestures to navigate and swipe as opposed to having a physical navbar. This saves huge amounts of screen real estate. At the bottom of the screen, left swipe up is back, middle swipe up is home, and right swipe up becomes recents. (This is so cool).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...vigation&hl=en
3) In a build prop editing app (I recommend BuildProp Editor), paste this line and save:
qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1
(this removes the on-screen navigation bar, now you have awesomely improved screen real estate!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...p.editor&hl=en
Can you use the build prop edit to hide nav bar in 7.1.1 last I knew it wasn't possible.
Not sure where you heard that, because yes you certainly can!

it's possible to hide the navbar. it's not possible to change its height (through substratum). maybe that's what you heard
Hmm. Keyboard won't work when you enable immersive mode in All in One Gestures. Kind of a deal-breaker.
Edit: tried out Swipe Navigation and the build.prop edit. Works perfectly right now. I was a little worried after restarting the phone because the Swipe Navigation app didn't start right away (I couldn't back out of an application, lol). But it started up in less than a minute and everything is good. I'm going to use for a while and maybe buy the $1.50 add-on that unlocks custom actions.

This app from the play store is the best that I have seen. Cost $1.99, I brought it with google play credits from the google surveys. It will give you the tiles in your toolbox and everything. You can hide the status bar, the nav bar, or both, plus alot extra. I use it. As long as your rooted there is no need to edit the build prop.

** IMPORTANT** Also, did you enable all permissions for the app?
As you can see from my screenshot, this is mine, works perfectly and IF you take the right steps i highly suspect it works for EVERYONE.

The reason why you need to edit the build prop, is because, if you want to use Swipe Gestures (the easiest and superior method for nav bar-less navigation imo) is because otherwise now you have two extra steps. You swipe up from bottom, and now you wait for the nav bar to 'come up'. You then hit the button you want. Takes time.
With my method, you instantly navigate with a gesture. One lightning fast action. That's why removing the nav bar in build prop is so important.
Also, the app you suggested costs money. Can be done better and at absolutely no cost.

I clearly stated to download the beta that i posted. It's like three months ahead of the 'stable' SuperSU development cycle.
What rom are you using? I'm using uberstock.
I flashed two other roms, and I was able to get the keyboard working in immersive mode in both.
Everyone felates and sucks off purenexus, but Uberstock runs circles around it in my opinion.

(ROOT) Disable Navbar

Hey, since I bought my Pixel 2 Xl, I saw on videos those nav bar burn in and so I've tried both immersive and Tulsadiver Mod, Navbar Gone with Swipe Navigation with Edge Gesture. Immersive is good but it doesn't get rid of the nav bar completely and everytime I Swipe up Navbar gets up so i discarded the Immersive mode.
Then i tried Navbar gone, it worked great until some apps like Google photos crashed randomly. I checked if it was anything installed on my phone but i did a factory image reset and install just Magisk and the mod and it when crashing again.
Looking at my old devices (Nexus 5) and tried to use what i did use back in the day to remove my navbar to use pie and boom! It worked flawless and no crashing with any app. Obviously you need ROOT.
I only tested on stock ROM**
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO WRONG, ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR DATA
REMEMBER TO DOWNLOAD SOME NAVIGATION APP BEFORE DOING THIS.
[YOU NEED ROOT]
1.Download a Build.Promp Editor /I used https://goo.gl/jXvZSu
2. Grant root access and press the edit button
3. Go to the last line press enter (Wich will create a new line)
4. Add this on a new line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys = 1" (without the quotes)
5. Save and reboot.
I'd hope I've helped someone
This isn't really new but I'm sure your post will be helpful to some, nonetheless.
One thing I want to stress is that it is crucial to download and setup an app like Pie Control (Play Store link), Unique Controls (Play Store link), or Gesture Control (Play Store link) prior to disabling your nav bar. Otherwise you'll have no way to navigate around, making downloading and installing one of these nav bar apps after the fact, extremely difficult.

It should work on any ROM. I've personally used this method to disable nav bar on stock as well as Lineage OS, with no issues. Carbon should be fine too.
If you want to do this system-lessly, my magisk module does same thing.

You guys Dan also try the "custom navigation bar" app which will allow you to select invisible icons. Not a perfect solution but it works well.

Been using Fluid Navigation Gestures application for a while. With the last update before public release it became mature enough to recommend it.
You can disable navbar / it has various options. Try it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fb.fluid

doesnt work!!
im on the latest version of stock pie, rooted with magisk.
This just doesnt work for me at all.
Ive tried using a build.prop editor
Ive tried adding it using adb shell, to see if it made a difference.
NOTHING WORKS!!
The magisk module doesnt work.
Any ideas as to why? I dont want to install another 3rd party app.
Ive always just added the build.prop setting, and used pie control from the play store.

while this doesnt completely disable it, its definitely better than having the navbar always present. Works with Android P.
it also has instructions on how to hide the status bar, as well.

Changing icons and grid size

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum. Currently using pixel 3 on nova and don't plan to root. I really like the UI on stock pixel three but three things are driving me nuts.
No notification numbers
Cant use icon packs
Unable to change grid size
That huge bat that comes with new navigation gestures (I do like the idea though)
Question is, are there any lightweight launchers that can do all that? Plus if possible still have new pixel gestures but with a transparent navigation bar? I'm currently using nova, although I like it, I would want something that closely mimics the pixel 3 UI. Anything a out there that does all that. Thanks for the help!
Dav
Check this forum for TulsaDiver's P3 launcher mod script. I've not wanted to move away from the stock launcher but couldn't stand the search bar, grid size and icon labels. He put in a ton of work and built an ADB based solution.
Edit: Just saw that you said you don't want to root. This sort of thing is why you root.
What about Lawnchair v2? I've been using it since the day I got my P3, and I think it does all the things you mentioned.

What I mean is when you open multitask (sliding up from bottom) with default launcher you get some quick access to most used apps and also multitask (that 2 things at same time), also the sliding option is integrated, so if you slide half way it opens multitask with quick acces, and if you slide up until the end, it open the app box.
I didnt find any way to replicate that.
Well, no third party launcher can do what you want... yet.
If you want to keep the stock launcher and change icons, root is the way to go, sadly.

Thanks,
Is there any mode to change each folder icon or to use icon from 1st app in folder?

why is there no pie control anymore?

i loved to use Paranoid Android's PIE Control on my old phone for years, now on Poco, no Custom-Rom seems to have this feature. Why?

You can try LMT, very lightweight and customizable (I had it all black with white icons) : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150

Ah sorry to hear that.
Anyhow, Google has removed the mechanism used by these apps (also the XDA gesture one) in Android 11, so pie controls don't have much future unfortunately...

damnit google ^^ well i found a workaround because i really don't want to use the stock navigation, i now use LMT and fortunally the custom-rom i use offer a navigation switch quick panel, so if i really need to go inside the settings, i can switch it on, navigate with the stock one and can still use LMT again outside. Thats kinda dumb but it works and it's at least something..

Ok, that's an acceptable solution. Are you talking about Omni ROM ?
P.S.: Here is the article explaining in details the removal of the overscan feature used by LMT and others : https://www.xda-developers.com/google-confirms-overscan-gone-android-11-crippling-third-party-gesture-apps/
