Base band or Radio Version for the DNA is 1.01.04.308 I suggest leave it alone, it work in all Roms

1.01.04.308 is the latest version. We haven't seen much movement in the radio department.

I thought baseband and radio were the same thing silly me ,sorry guys

They are. We typically call the baseband version the radio.

[SOLVED] Can I flash latest radio before a custom ROM?

Hi,
I am getting ready to flash my first custom ROM. I have a Hero with firmware 2.1-update1 and baseband 63.18.55.06OU_6_35.15.01. I have been following the newbie guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=645253) and I'm intending to flash FroydVillain 1.5.
My question is this: can I safely flash the latest radio before flashing the custom ROM? I figured this would make sense as I can check to make sure my radios work fine after the radio update before I install the ROM. Or will this cause problems?
Yep, can do if you want.
And its simple to roll back if you have issues.
Why should i upgrade my radio? I'm still running the one i got with the StockROM 1.5 and flashed like 8 CustomROMs already, but never upgraded my radio.
So, why should i upgrade my radio?

I believe the radio controls gsm/data signal and battery and some other things. So the newer the radio the better these things will be. So it's really a no brainier, but just make sure you flash the correct one or you'll no doubt brick your phone.

I know what it does. But what do you mean by better? Longer battery life? I doubt so. Better signal? Maybe.
What i mean is, what does it improve exactly and in what way?

As new towers get built their data (signature) needs to be registered to the phone before it will connect to them. The radio contains this data.

My question is, where in the Android software settings can I see my currently installed CDMA/LTE radio? Please be specific.
Thanks in advance.

I read on one of the threads that there are new and old LTE radios. How does one know which one is installed?
Isn't the baseband version just the CDMA radio?

Looks like you may be still running an MR1 radio. Did you change radios when changing ROMs? Most ROMs in active development need MR2.x radios from everything i'm reading online.
You need to update the radio through bootloader since you updated to a newer rom. The original radio will get no service with the newer roms.

Just dl MR2 and flash through bootloader

[RADIO] HTC Eternity Radios

Here are the two available radios posted by other users. The radio "17.5006.08.27" has been reported to have issues with the US AT&T Titan so be warned.
You Flash at your own risk!! If your phone explodes and kills your entire family, that's on you.
RADIOS
17.5006
16.23
Once I find out how to extract them myself I'll post the others.
May I also add here that 17.5006.08.27 radio in general *may have* problems with Titan?
Once that was flashed, I am unable to get rid of that radio and thus, no other ROM boots on my phone any longer. Not even the one with radio 17 or stock!

This is strange, why just now this is happening considering we been using this radio version for a while since hspl became available with titan. Could it be that you got a bad flash from one of the radio v 17 that came with custom rom you flashed? Just on the weekend I flashed roms with radio v17 (WPV rom7.8 4.1) then tried nhatoa's 7.8 with radio v16 and now I'm back with WPV's v4.2 with radio17.
I think I might have had a bad flash with radio 17 then. I am not sure how to revert it though.

If everything all fail using normal flashing tool, it might pay to try a goldcard method to flash stock rom?

Yes, I was suggested that too earlier. I'm a little skeptical with goldcard as I've never taken that route.
I'm more curious in terms of what could have cause a bad flash where a radio cannot be changed at all?

Dont be skeptical ...Its an esay task .. I have done this a lot of times ... Once you have the cable all other staff its easy ...
Alot of things can go bad when you flash ... dont bother thinking about that ...

I'm sure you'll share your findings if ever you find out what've cause this issue with your phone and save us this trouble of "bricking" our phone. As to the goldcard method , you're rigght to be skeptical, initially it's a hit and miss but once you got the Y cable and micro sd card going it is really quite straightforward process. I have an ATT titan so the only way to flash custom from stock is by GC method and been doing this quite regularly (being a flashaholic)

Hi Do you perhaps know if this upgrade will come to us in South Africa as we also have AT&T HTC Titans (2x)? Zune says that no updates are available.
Otherwise can the experts please enable this upgrade via the CAB sender method?
Thanks in advance

Hello guys,
Can anyone reupload radios for Titan? Links are dead.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] can't make use of my 3g services on htc one s (ville)

hi, i have the htc one s tmobile version, after following the instructions in installing the LIBERTY ROM 4.3 HTC SENSE 5.5, i noticed whenever i switched to wcdma only my signals turned off but work perfectly on gsm. pls what am i not doing right and also have attached my installation log of the rom
Because it's a rom for the international version of the phone and seems to be picky with which radio versions it works best with.
Dude pls help me out, what do i do now
What radio version do you have installed?
You'll either have to find another radio that works better with the rom, or a better suited rom for your radio.
the current radio installed on it is 1.35a.32.45.27_10.144.32.34aL and i haven't try any other radio since i don't know what to do

Hmm says in the thread it should work. I'd just switch up roms to something with a T-Mobile base to test.
so what could be causing mine not to work?
