[Q] Wifi not working

Hi all thanks for your help,
Australian user here on virgin.
Basically when I first got the handset I flashed and used villain rom... everything worked fine for a week or two.
Then the wifi just stopped working.. it wouldn't turn on. I would enable it.. it would scan.. scan wouldn't work and the icon would turn off.
and I can't wifi hotspot my 3g connection it just says error.
The problem seemingly went away at random :S:S:S and now has arisen again.
I've tried using batista rom and that didn't help.
Tried searching couldn't find any solutions ((
ok i happen to have this issue last month and i spent 2 damn days to check everything.. but end up it's hardware problem.. you turn on your wifi it will scan a while but then shut off by itself right? if that so i really confirm you need to send back to retail shop.. before that you need to do a nandroid backup and flash back to original rom ( unroot )
trust me man it's the motherboard problem.. check this link for how to unroot..

p.s. you need to buy a usb jig to clear the binary.
hope this help

Please Help, No Mobile Data on Cyanogenmod 9

Please help, I just installed the latest build Cyanogenmod 9 on my Galaxy S3 I9300. Everything works fine except that i can't get any kind of mobile data. I can make phone calls, send and receive sms but simply there is no 3g/HSDPA connection. Not even edge. I even tried changing my modem firmware and still nothing. As you can see in the image it recognizes the network and the type but it doesn't manage to connect. Am I missing something?
Are your network settings correct ??

Get your network settings manually from your provider

Well I feel stupid, thank you guys, everything is working perfect now
Hi guys,
I´ve got the same problem here, but on a SGS2, I have configured all according to my provider, but still nothing (had the same problem with JellyBam)
please any suggestions? My Gf has also the same problem with her HTC Wildfire S

L9 P760 Wi-Fi stopped working.

Hi, i bought l9 from orange romania 3 months ago. since then, in the first month i managed to update it to official Jelly bean, unlock bootloader, install CWM, and then ofcourse, root. everything went fine except until yesterday when the Wi-Fi suddenly stopped working. When i tried to turn it on it was stuck at Turning Wi-Fi on. I even tried installing CyanogenMod 10.1 on it, with no luck.
After my unsuccesful attempt with cyanogenmod, I also tried restoring a rooted CWM backup of a stock rom. Same problem, wifi doesnt start at all. What should i do?
Thanks in advance!
I had the same problem but I don't remember how I solved it exactly. I have done something in service menu or installed brand new one with kdz.

It didn't work. Same problem. Wi-fi hanging at "Turning Wi-fi on". Also, wi-fi mac address , under settings is "unavalaible" and i can't even turn on Wi-fi tethering. Flashing Original KDZ is my last chance. I'll be back with a response as soon i'm done.

I also have an L9 and started having the same problems last night around the time of your original post. The only difference is that I haven't rooted the phone. There have been recent android updates, however. Any more suggested solutions?
Thanks.
Well, i think there is nothing left to do other than sending it to warranty. I'm still open for suggestions.

kdz didn't work?
take a look what logcat is saying
This is what logcat is saying. Another question. It is safe to flash v20.kdz using offline method for fully returning to stock?

LE for users having the same problem. After sending it to warranty they changed the "faulty" motherboard. Now wi-fi is working just fine. Seems that i've got a problematic unit in the first place. Even though i unlocked the bootloader they changed it under no fees.

Four day old phone return to the seller under warranty .
If you follow the advice posted above you will lose warranty and a rom cannot fix a possible hardware problem .

The post I pointed to was one where someone had uploaded a WiFi folder.

[Q] Wifi stuck on "turning on wifi" after doing a factory reset :(

Hi! ive been browsing the net for almost 2 days looking for a solution to this problem. the other night, i did a factory reset on my PANTECH FLEX OS 4.1.2 non-rooted. Wifi was working fine before that. after the reset, wifi would now only show "turning wifi on" whenever i turn it on. i've seen threads regarding this but none with the Flex. PLEASE HELP AS IM REALLY DESPERATE
I've done factory resets, hard resets airplane mode tinkering and the like butthey dont work. i've been reading that one effective solution would be too flash the wifi in my device but i would need to root it. is there any other way to fix the wifi again without rooting it yet? i was thinking of doing a downgrade to ICS to try and fix the wifi but im not sure if that would work.

UPDATE: I just found out that the phone was rooted in the first place, assuming that superSU is only installed if a phone is rooted. This was just given to me so i had no idea that it was rooted anyway i checked to see if the phone is still rooted by running root checker basic and it says that it doesnt have root access anymore. Did i just un-root the phone? and how do i get back my wifi?
