[Q] HTC one X+ bootloop - HTC One X+

i just got an htc one x+ and i installed chainfire 3d on it and installed the driver within
the device restarted and went into a bootloop
now i dont know what to do specially since i just got this and dont even know how to access the bootloader while in this bootloop
i managed to get into the recovery once that was cwm
i tried a wipe data/factory reset and its still in a bootloop
can anyone help me on this one?

Have you flashed the kernel? Usually when a kernel is not flashed and you installed a custom os, the phone will be stuck on the HTC screen with the white background.
To go into the bootloader you press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds (the phone will restart) press and hold the volume down button right away. And then you get a white screen with an android dude on a skateboard. You're now in bootloader

It does say in the chainfire FAQ, you should take a backup incase of bootloop. There is not much need to use chainfire on tegra II. Its for older devices Just format /system/ and start again

yes i realise that i should have taken a backup. you dont need to remind me of how i screwed up
the problem is now the phone wont charge and when i try to access recovery it just powers off
thats because i tried to change the recovery to twrp when the cwm was working fine
and now i cant format system as there is no recovery to do it from
any other ideas man?
would be greatly appriciated

If there is a working RUU, for your CID\ BL version. you can flash that from fastboot, that will restore stock recovery. If fastboot is still working, you can always flash CWM again.

Before your battery dies, try flashing CWM manually (fastboot flash recovery xxxx.img) also do a (fastboot erase cache) before and after flashing, see if that works. There are threads from the early days of the HOX+ with people & charging issues with recovery. Do a search for thoes, maybe one can help you get your device charged.

[Q] Thunderbolt stock on white screen after rom flash

Hopefully some one can help me because my thunderbolt is a paper weight at the moment. I used the android dev method for unlocking my bootloader. All went well and i had a factory reset phone with an unlocked boot loaded. I then used adb and flashed clockwordmod recovery ver. 5.0.2.1. Then used flashboot reboot command to reboot then held vol down and power button and got back into hboot/bootloader/flashboot etc menu. Went to recovery and it went to the white screen then to clockworkmod. I wiped the cache and also the cache in the advanced menu. I then installed liquid ICS. It went through it steps and said it installed correctly. Then I rebooted the phone from clockworkmod and it hung on the white screen. I tried to reboot it a few times with the same result. I then tried to install a gingerbreak rom and had the same affect. I read and dug around and found the stock pg05img and put it on my sd card. I booted back into hboot and it installed checked and installed pg05img. I rebooted again from the Hboot menu and it hung on the white screen again. So now I feel stuck. Is my phone toast. How do I get this thing back on its feet. Ive rooted and installed custom roms on my xoom but I am def a newbie. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
Barry.
Lancaster CA
With the HTC unlock you cannot flash boot.img's through recovery, so any non sense based and/or non gingerbread roms will not boot. I'd suggest flashing one then getting s-off.

Thanks for the advice! I'm still pretty uneducated when it comes to my thunderbolt. what rom do you reccomend I flash and what procedure should I use now that I am stuck at the white screen?
I tried eternity 8-4 with the same result. I used clockwork to install it and reboot the phone. What am I missing?

With the rom file on the comp. Unzip it, and put the boot.img in the folder with fastboot you used to unlock. Then open that folder and hold shift and right click and click open command prompt here. Then connect the phone in fastboot mode. Once its connected, run
Code:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then
Fastboot reboot
And it should boot. Then use the tbolt tool to get S-OFF

make sure Fast Boot is NOT selected in Settings/Power. Then turn the phone COMPLETELY OFF and boot to Hboot then fastboot and flash recovery again. Then power off and reboot to hboot. If it says *Tampered* at the top your all set, if it doesn't, then recovery didn't take. I had to flash recovery 6 or 8 times, but I think the deciding factor was when I turned fast boot off in Settings.
Ok. In order to flash a boot.img do we have to rename it to boot.img.zip ? I'm trying to completely understand how to flash the boot.img using HTC dumlock rather than having to use the computer all the time for fast boot.

To flash a boot.img. You must enter fastboot on the phone. and issue the fastboot command fastboot flash boot boot.img using a computer.
For some reason, I cannot enter recovery. I get the entering recovery screen, then it boots back to the boot screen and freezes there. Gonna try to fastboot flash the recovery img

[Help] My OneX+ stuck on HTC logo...

I have rooted OneX+ and running ARHD for months without any problem
But suddenly it freeze, and restart it by holding power button down for a sew seconds.
And now its stuck on HTC logo.
Please someone help me pleaseeeee!
Note:
1. I relock bootloder
2. Try update it with RUU [error 171 waiting for bootloader]
3. Can't access SDcard
4. Can't go to recovery [try update it but failed]
5. I don't have any backup
Push the latest twrp recovery, format your data partition in recovery and push a stock boot.img to your device then reboot into fast boot mode, then you should be able to run the ruu.
Don't forget to unlock bootloader again before flashing twrp and lock before u flash stock boot.img.
Make sure u have the correct ruu and a decent usb cable for the tranfer preferably the one that came with the device plus at least 50% battery etc.

[SOFT BRICK] No OS installed, can't access phone from PC

So, here are my problems.
I have no OS
I can't access phone from windows, either in recovery/bootloader
When I hit "Install" in TWRP it shows all of the normal folders but there are no files anywhere
Is there any way to fix this?
Solution is the "adb sideload" command. There is a tutorial in the HTC One X+ General forum where you can read about how to use it.

Use "adb push" command to send files to your internal memory and then flash it.
Also you MAY need to flash a kernel via "fastboot flash boot" command.
What exactly you did before this happens, which rom did your tried to flash?

OK, well I was trying to install CM.
I sort of fixed the OS problem by fiddling with adb. Now recovery recognises I have an OS, but every ROM I try to flash gets stuck at boot logo. I'v waited about 10 minutes with each rom, from reading around it seems if it isn't done in 5 you've done something wrong
I have tried:
CM
AOKP
Insert Coin sense 5 rom
I wipe cache and system each time like everybody says but I can't seem to change the outcome.

Inside the .zip for each rom, you will find a boot.img. As we don't have S-Off, we can't flash the boot.img from recovery with the rest of the rom, So you need to extract the boot.img from the rom you wan't, and flash it from fastboot before you flash the rom. You can use the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img" to flash the kernel.
