Free Tethering on Beans ROM - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am in Beans ROM 19 AND I CAN'T FIND THE FREE TETHERING. HELP PLEASE

Try flashing build 20 and see if it comes back, haven't used beans in a while so I can't say for sure what's up.

You do it just like you would on the stock rom... settings/more settings/mobile hotspot toggle to "on".
I mean I don't usually say this, but there's this site called google... great stuff on that site.

It works on 19, I frequent the beans thread too, no one's said a peep about having a tethering problem.

I did just that....the app works but it's not free, and I did google it and that is why I am here asking for help.

[Q] Jelly Beansv7 ad blocking

Been running Jelly Beans since v1 but since I just now registered I can't yet post in a development thread. I was wondering if anyone knew how to temporarily disable ad blocking for the purpose of using the Medscape app. Thanks for any help or direction.
Ad blocking is usually done via the hosts file. You could try replacing his hosts file with a stock one.

Ant idea what folder I might find those in? It's tough to spend a lot of time searching since I'm a nurse working 12 hour shifts and can't use my phone on the floor.
Are you a Murse? That's awesome. Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.adaway
Download this and apply ad blocking (I know, I know) then disable it from the same app. Idea is, replace beans host file with this one, then disable it. Not sure if this app would know beans host file. Anyways, that's what I'd do. Reboot afterwards.

Ehh....not sure if this will work. Try it. Default host files would probably be beans ad block files. Try it.

Looking for DirecTV Tablet app

When I try to install it, Play Store gives a message that it is not compatible with my device. Does anyone have it available for Sideload?

I got this link from the Note 2 Forum on this site. I have yet to test it, but I have a rooted Nexus 7 and I get the same incompatibility message.

Wow it works. This is way better than using the Phone version. I can't wait to get home and hook it up to my home network and really try it out.
I used the iPad DirecTv app and it is great.
Special thanks to runandhide05 for posting the APK.
Worked awesome, thank you!

It's been a little laggy for me. What Rom are you running? I was running it under PA 2.99.

location settings is way off. I'm asking where restaurants are near me Anna keeps giving me restaurants near my work. If I ask where I am it tells me I'm at my office 15 miles away. I uninstalled the update. Went back to original settings. Re ask the same questions and got the same results. I checked Google now and it worked flawlessly from my exact location. S voice needs a lot of work.

You're also running an apk not made for your device. It may depend on other apps/resources that you don't have installed.
I'm a big s-voice hater, but I don't think you can judge the new version based on what you have.

If you would read the few posts of this thread, samsung turned off the server. To get the old one back re flash your rom.

Should be able to just pull the old apk from another Rom, uninstall the current one and install the Note 2 version.

If you are running CM10.x (or any CM / AOSP based ROM) then you will need to install Xposed and the Xposed Netflix module.

So i'm running CM10.2 Nightlies on this device (SGH-I777) and everything runs great except Netflix. Coming from CM10.1 Nightlies everything worked great but I get some error message on the XPosed framework about not being able to access a whitelist of some sort now that I'm on Android 4.3. Appreciate some help.
PS: Tried this method also with no avail

So quick reply is that this worked out for me, in case anyone else runs into this problem.

I grabbed the latest APK from there and threw it under /system/apps with rw-r--r-- permissions.

AdAway on 5.1.1?

AdAway just doesn't seem to work for me on 5.1.1. I'm using G925F. I'm rooted.
Also tried UnbelovedHosts (Xposed module), but that also didn't work. Anyone managed to get ad blocking to work on 5.1.1?

I got it working but all i did was copy it from a custom rom which didnt work for me so i took something from it that does. I haven't had any ad issues since. I could give you a link to my copy if you want it.

The app installed fine but still doesn't block the ads
So you don't see any ads at all?
Bleugh, I figured it out. It was my provider's "default" APN that came with my phone. I solved it by creating a new APN using the actual default APN settings and the ads disappeared.
Thanks for your efforts pickles!
No problem glad i could help
