Problem with APN Settings and Root - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys
I've bought a 3G GalaxyTab 10.1 unlocked
But I can't Save the APN settings, when I fill in the blanks, and I touch left o right the window when I have entrered the details, the window disappear and i notice that no APN has been created
I've tried APN manager PRO but It was useless
I thought that the problem is from Root so I decided to root the device
Then I've knew that the root is impossible without unlocking the bootloader so I decided to unlock it
I started following this tutorial : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064793
So I downloaded the java and android SDK but I couldn't find the specified path to modify that they have mentionned
<PATH TO ANDROID SDK>\extras\google\usb_driver\android_winusb.inf”
Please help me to find a solution and Thanks in Advance Help is appreciated

Loss Of EvDo After Upgrade

Hey Folks,
Been trying to find solutions to generate my HDR/EvDo password after flashing the rom.
Found this solution on another forum

Im not sure if this will work but here is how i got the EVDO passwords.
Do a full 20 megabyte memory dump and use hex editor to search for "secret". you should see a section with 2 "secret" places... the 16 bytes after a 10 are the password. take those 16 bytes and enter it in PST programming in hex and should be a ok. This was done on a phone that had connected to EVDO before, if i remember correctly a non-connected phone would not have that password yet. You can try to ##RTN# or ##DATA# and do a reset if it will calculate that field to the phone before connecting.
Let me know if that works for you.

What program or programs are required to do the memory dump?
Seems easy enough but just need a step by step method to follow this solution.
Cheers

Not sure about your Carrier but usually you just need to run the Carrier Cab and dial *228 to do the OTA programming and it should get it going with out needing to find the password.
unfortunately we dont have that option for my carrier which is
Telecom New Zealand.

Need NVRAM.IMG for lenovo s820

Hi,
I have made a mistake trying to change a rom for my device (Lenovo s820).
I thought my phone was gone, but step by step I was able to bring it back to life.
Now I have a working rom and I set back the IMEI's, but I still have "no service".
After reading a lot, I understand that I need to recover my "NVRAM" and to do so, I need for somebody to send my a file called "NVRAM.IMG" which applies to my device.
I can't find this file anywhere on the net.
Can somebody please send me?
Thanks in advance

[Solved] Solution For Recover your IMEI For Lenovo S820
1) You must Root your Smartphone by Framaroot 1.8.1 (Apk for simple usein smartphone)

[Q] huawei y300 local.prop help please.

Hi, im new here, sort pf starting out with the small amount of knowledge that i have.
So ive rooted said phone without gaining the bootloader unluck code from
Huawei themselves, that said, the root was successfull.
I heard of a trick to edit the local.prop file to gain higher data speed etc.by editing hsdpa, hsupa etc, i used it on my old phone
And it worked great, the trouble im having this time is that i cant find the local.prop file.
So i set some permissions and created one, to no avail, the file created but was empty.
Any help to find the file would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Unable to create nickname on MIUI forums to enable unlocking

Hi guys,
Weird issue here. I just signed up for a MI account and I'm looking to unlock my Redmi Note 4. When I go to get unlock permissions (by visiting http://en.miui.com/unlock/), I am prompted to create a forum username. However when I create one I just get an error message. I tried again with a totally different account and got the same problem, tried in firefox and on a different internet connection (4G hotspot). Any ideas? Thanks. Here is the error message: https://i.imgur.com/2xoYEjF.png
...anyone?
Hi,
I remember some sort of problem like this.
I think I had to create a user name in settings in my phone first:
Mi Account / Personal info / Name
Thanks. What actually worked was trying to log into the english MIUI forums prior to trying to apply for unlock permissions - the username I created there seemed to work OK.

Wifi Codes - Change Country Codes - Enable Wireless Channels

Hi all, I copy - pasted the title from an older thread :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982149
because I have exactly the same problem, but all the solutions I have found so far look outdated and don't work for Android Nougat (Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F rooted with Odin as explained here). I need to access channel 149 (the wifi camera of my quadcopter)
So this is what I have tried :
1. WifiCodes.apk, described here. Gets root permits but when run, freezes and does nothing
2. Edit /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db to change my country code, as explained here. The directory doesn't exists, and cannot find the settings.db file anyplace
3. Same but on /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/carriers; not sure where i saw this, but anyway doesn't exist neither
4. RegionChanger app. Gets root permit but does nothing
Of course Nougat has not advanced Wifi configuration to tinker with country codes nor 2.4 vs. 5.0 GHz networks.
Any other suggestion?
Thanks a lot!
i have nougat but on Galaxy note 5
i have tried those methods and i didn't found setting.db but i found that there is another files (like they changed setting db file with another way) the file called settings_global.xml and settings_secure.xml u can check this too u can find them in
data/system/users/0
u will find something like
(setting id="97" name="wifi_country_code" value="us" package="android" />)
<setting id="100" name="wifi_sns_visited_country_iso" value="us" package="android" />
the point is i changed them it change back to the default setting it was b4
donno how to force it to not get change by it self
Can change code but still KO
Hi, thanks a lot. I have changed the country code but still cannot see the camera's network. After googling a bit more, looks like the camera is not compatible with Android!!! (whatever this means). That is, doesn't show up in any Android device, but does on iPhones. Mysteries of Chinese engineering... So I gave up and acquire a different camera.
Btw, I don't have the problem you mention of reverting configuration.
Thanks again!
