i am currently on the pac rom before this one ( the pac rom thats the latest 4.2.2)
and i have backed up everything but as soon as i got install this new one it comes up with this build.prop error.
ill do it again and get a photo for you guys

BMP7777, I ran your build of PAC on the SR, and was by far the best ROM at the time. As a matter of fact, my wife still runs it and it hasn't been updated since I handed it off. :thumbup:
I've been trying to build PAC for a week or so now, so I might have questions for both of you if that's alright. Awesome work man. :beer:

How exciting.. a new rom for my phone. Have used PACman Roms on one of my other devices and liked it very much. Thank you for the ROM OP. Will use as DD and will report anything I come across... if any.
BTW: This line says it all for me: "Can't settle on a rom... Like one rom, but wish it had features of another... Well look no further..."
I always feel like that when trying different ROM that feel incomplete.

Well I've been using it for about 4 or 5 hours now and I have to say I'm liking it very much, I can see it being my daily driver for quite a while.... and I have to admit the first time I used Pie I wasn't overly bothered about it, but having used it all evening, I'm liking it more.... Serious kudos to the PA guys for that... In fact go thank Moles now!!!! hahaha

Darn. I can't seem to get any of the customization's to stick with regards to the AKOP Rom Control: navigation bar transparency, Navigation bar ring, Navigation bar color.
Pie also doesn't work at all. box is ticked, but i can't seem to get it to show...
Think maybe a bad flash? Seems like everything else is working just fine. Super smooth and all the other candy =)
What else could be causing it for me? Anyone else experiencing issues?
Also, CHEERS FOR THE PAC! What an awesome ROM! i would say best of both worlds (AOKP - CM) but it's really best of 3 worlds!

For Pie to work you have to have expanded desktop enabled, otherwise it won't work. Go to Settings then system the click on power menu and make sure expanded desktop is checked then go to homescreen and press power button until menu comes up, then select expanded desktop and once done Pie will work fine. As far as I can gather the PA guys have set it so Pie won't work while ever NavBar is visible

I have LMT installed but it's not as polished as PA pie.

Q: I don't use the on-screen softkeys. How do I remove the navigation bar?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Interface, under Workspace drag the slider for "Navigation Bar Size" to 0%.
Q: How do I disable the dual-pane layout that is preset in some apps (Settings, Gmail, etc.)?
A:Go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and choose the app that you want to change. In the top right hand corner, click "Reset" and it will change the DPI and the layout of that app to the Workspace default that you have set. If your default Workspace is phablet / tablet UI but you want a specific app to not have the dual-pane layout, then go into Hybrid Properties --> Apps and set the specific app to phone UI.
Q: Some ROM Control options do not work?
A: ROM Control is still a WIP as of right now. The frameworks part of ROM Control has yet to be merged, so that's why some settings are blank. Please give some time, and it will be fixed in the near future.
ROMControl is now fixed and mostly working.
Q: Why did some of Hybrid Properties options disappear in the new update?
A: Go into Hybrid Properties --> Tools, and check Expert Mode and more settings will appear.
Q: How to I disable the PIE controls?
A: Go to Toolbars --> PIE Trigger Size and set that to none.

Oh, fun! Just saw the thread in General about you being new to this. Kinds scared until I saw you had 18 years of experience with Linux stuff. I don't actually own an i717. My buddy bought one on ebay a few months ago and I got him on T-Mo with Padawan. He's been bugging.me about putting a 4.3 ROM on it for him. Probably try this one tomorrow when I go over.. Anyone tried a a t-mo modem on 4.3??

Yeah I'm somewhat new to android development and have lots to learn, but find myself right at home in the environment. It is Linux at its core which is a big plus for me. I don't have many problems with this ROM that others aren't having. As bugs get fixed upstream in Paranoid, AOKP and CyanogenMod the fixes will be incorporated here. Now that this is set up and running I'll be helping where I can to fix defects and enhance the already awesome things that make up this ROM. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

As far as I know Jamie's UBER-3.0 kernel is built for JB-4.3. Supported? Well, I am running it now without issues but YMMV. You need to know what your doing and be willing to tolerate some instability when playing on the 'fringe' with tweakable kernels in trying to find that "sweet spot". I've not fooled with settings enough to say I can "support" it, no. I've run it long enough to be able to say it functions.

I did on another build and it ended up being a mismatched md5sum with the gapps. Maybe double check that.

"Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped. Blame Tyler." appears after setting up wifi. And randomly afterwards during the setup process.
Appears with official 8-13-13 4.3 gapps and 8-22-13 PA gapps.

This build currently includes PirateMod. I'm working on fixing this, but it's not the same fix that others have applied to their roms to fix.

I am unable to download apps from the play store via mobile data, also seems to not find mobile network very well. I was roaming the entire time on my way home (in known lte coverage area).
This is my first time running kk on my jewel, if there are/is known data fix please advise. Other than that it seems to be running well

The roaming bug is a known issue and has been fixed on most roms. I am working on getting it sorted out, but have experienced a few issues. The whole thing is cosmetic and you are not actually roaming though the phone indicates you are. Carry on with normal usage. As for your play store, I haven't experienced this problem. What rom are you using? Stock or updated partitions?

I am using the one with updated partitions. I tried clearing cache on play store and google framework services, but no dice.
Yea data was working as normal on everything else I tested except for downloading from the play store.

Perhaps try different gapps. I've personally been using TBO's version from DU thread.

Tips :
First boot takes a while. Wait at least 5 mins for it to boot.
To activate Developer settings : Settings -> About phone -> press Build number 5 times
To activate 3-way reboot go to Developer settings and select "Advanced reboot"
First Wi-Fi connecting can take a while
ART booting can take about 10 minutes so be patient
You can switch internal and external storage in Ace 2 settings

Poket mode means that when you have notification and pull device out if pocket the screen will turn on

since it's my tablet i think i'd be a little more willing to break it than i would my phone, so at some point i might make a nandroid of my current really old rom (cm10, android 4.1.2) and try your stuff
also, i noticed slimkat and like maybe one other rom uploaded by @Demetris sorry dude

What about Gapps? I don't see a link for PAC Gapps and the KK one does not want to work on my Acclaim.

The gapps I've linked should work just fine, you can also search Google or xda for other packages that'll work for you

NO worries, I actually prefer PA gapps myself but the 'official' stance of PAC seems to be to use the regular gapps, as far as the icon, that's not a bad idea, i'll see if I can incorperate something into the post

The PAC site only lists nightlies for the Acclaim. I get this lovely "Error flashing zip" action from the latest download there. Where is this beta you speak of? And our friend earlier in the thread does bring up a mighty fine point- a convenient link directly to the actual rom and gapps would be rather helpful.

I have a NC and had many many hours of fun flashing it to a variety of ROMs, and I've tested and developed on several other devices. Needless to say, working with my friend's Nook Tablet has been an educational experience. I've spent far too long plugging away on this really weird tablet. I'm exhausted and I'm tired of looking at this strange thing mock me and I'd like someone more experienced and clever than me to just post one direct link to one awesome rom and it's accompanying Gapps link that I can hand over to my friend and stop wasting so many precious hours of my life on this CM- and AOKP-hating machine.

I'd really like to hand my bro something with better customization. CM doesn't hold a candle to PAC in that department.

Looks like the last nightly was a little borked, should be fixed on the next one, as far as the link goes I'm just following the official pac guidelines, this is just how it's done.

Possibly, but for right now custom kernels don't really work in PAC from what I've tried.

Actually, because PAC is using the same kernel as the CM11 nightlies, we are using Demetris' kernel. :highfive:

Not really, his kernel has more customizations and tweaks. Its built upon the cm11 kernel but it's not nearly the same
