Instead of buying a Neo V, i would recommend you to buy Xperia P or Xperia L (not Neo L).

I have a Neo, and i want to tell you that for gaming is not good, it's very laggy. But if you want a phone for multimedia and camera (like i'm using it) you can buy it, it's a good choice, especially because of the micro HDMI port which is awesome.
buy a newer one. it's 2 years old already.
It's old but nonetheless serves my everyday use. Also, it has great devs working on 4.2.2 and now already 4.3 version of android. I'm really thankful to them, they extended my phone life and made my neo V amazing.
I agree that if you're looking for a new phone you may consider other options, since it's "old" as for a phone refers.

I own a Xperia Neo V.
Neo V is a very cool phone from Exteriors & Hardware also but it's a single core & very few internal memory, small screen size & no longer provided with software support. I'd recommend you to get a Galaxy S2 (Very Active Development), Galaxy S Duos, Galaxy Grand or Galaxy Mega, Nexus (4, 7 or 10) device or any other phone...
Bottomline:
Don't buy Sony phone, their software support is worst!!
You can see Sony forums filled with complaints & problems on the internet.
Now the choice is yours...

Hello guys.
I m confused in these two models.
Obviously, Neo is is best cause of 8mp camera.
but neo is never launched in india, so i m getting it from ebay, the imported one which have no warranty or limited software warranty, getting it at 17k.
And Neo V is official launched in india with official warranty getting 16.5k.
.
So plz tell me that, can i trust sellers ? will he ship original product ?
Also please give ur feedback about hardware problem in ur Neo since year.

I'd say you buy the Neo
It got CM7 which the Neo V lags
And afaik the Neo has HD games support that the Neo V doesn't*
*Not entirely sure tho
And the Neo V has an 8mp camera
difference between NEO & NEO V is only the camera 8mp
CM7 isn't even released for neo v yet , but it will be available soon
NEO V can run all the HD games which NEO can run
The only difference between those two is camera, but there is one more thing - Neo is shipped with 8GB memory card and Neo V comes with 2GB memory card.

But I bought a 16GB sd card, because my 8GB was full after 2 months. I think many users that have music etc. on their sdcards will buy one with larger capacity anyway, 8GB or 2GB, it doesn't matter. I use my 8GB for installing zips and nandroid backups now.
Sorry to butt in, but what about the games on Neo V ?? Can we play HD 3D games..like Shadow Gun and Riptide??
Will it support or lag??
I am not concerned about the Cam much...but games is one of the reasons I may be buying it..dont want to get disappointed then...
Leaving the camera all the hardware is same so gaming well not be a problem I think.

Shadowgun works perfect,no lags so far.Sshot from yesterday.No idea about Riptide
tho touch screen gaming is very new to me,pc gaming junkie from like I was 4-5 years old till I die xD

Other than camera and the bundled microsd card rest is the same on Neo and Neo V afaik.So in theory it should be same.I will try riptide tomorrow,so you need some feedback wait a little

Better to go with Neo than ray mate,compared all the camera's(Neo,Neo V & Ray) quality in gsm arena photo comparing tool and tbh best cam was Neo.Ray's colors was too much bright for my taste,Neo V's colors are ok but some details are not captured great while Neo's snaps looked great comparing to other two.If you got enough money go for Neo or Neo V(should be much cheaper than both Neo & Ray) instead Ray.Besides comparing to Neo/Neo V ray got a smaller screen too(3.3" vs 3.7").
I have the Neo V to, i love this phone and its not only about the 8mp pixel of the Neo, The Neo V have a good 5mp to, and the Neo V is the lil brother of his big brother Neo, that's the way i see and the Neo V gets ics first then his brother so who is better ?!!!

I want to buy new Android budget smartphone. I'm little bit confused in Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo and Neo V. In Mumbai, India Neo (Rs.15,000) is cheaper than Neo V (Rs.16,500). so, Which one should I buy? Neo or Neo V? I got nothing difference except Camera in both phone. and I heard somewhere that Neo has missing 3D sweep panorama feature. So guys help me to get a new phone.

Neo V should be cheaper than Neo,in here Neo costs extra 50-60 $ than Neo V(Neo V is the best thing I can find for around 290-300$ range).And Neo V will get ICS update 1st xD
Neo V is a great phone,only bad thing is you will need to buy an after market headset if you are into music lot.Also an equalizer app too since built in equalizer is just crap
Neo as better cam, and better support on unofficial rom (CM9 support).
Go for neo, they are the same in everything but the camera... and neo exmor lens are great!

Only Neo V was officially released in India, so the Neo is an imported piece being sold without a waranty. If you are fine with foregoing the warranty then Neo is the better phone.
I think the neo v, he is newer and get the ICS first, so the difference is only the camera so who cares, the neo have 3 mp more so thats no problem, they have both exmor quality, the neo v is a fine phone, i glad with this phone, but people must make thier own choice, Neo and the Neo V having both of them good quality, good performence and all of that

If it's old doesn't mean it's bad.
Anw, screen is down to each person individual. In my opinion SGS2's screen looks bad, when I look at it, it's like unreal, to colorful.
Maybe it have better black, maybe it drain less power, but I would always pick (S)LCD before (S)AMOLED(plus), and as I say, it's down to each person
Everything I look on my NeoV is nice and real.
Amoled is nothing anymore if sony comes with Oled full HD
Hi guys this is my first post. as to the topic, ill go with neo since it has better camera, here in my country neo is also not officially released but i still bought neo since i believe sony produce well built products. i already unlocked my bootloader and flash several roms and my neo is still working fine. ill sacrifice warranty over a better cam!

Why sacrificing warranty for better cam? It's not like custom rom's make camera better. Creators of custom roms are having hard time to implement even default drivers in their roms, so no modded drivers in custom roms.
Someone correct me(with link) if I'm wrong.

were talking about neo and neo v,since neo is not officially release in his country and mine, im willing to sacrifice warranty (a 5 megapixel versus 8 megapixel with xmor)
okay lets put it this way:
neo v - 5 megapixel w/o xmor with official SE warranty
neo - 8 megapixel with exmor but w/o SE warranty.
that is in our country. and about custom roms, what im trying to say is that sony hardware are well built so its okay for me to sacrice warranty.

The Neo V offers absolutely nothing over the Neo AND has a worse camera.
So what conclusion cane be drawn from that? The original Neo is clearly the better phone.

The only warranty one can get for an unofficial device is the dealer/seller warranty which is absolutely useless. It is highly unlikely that official Sony service centres will ever service your device and if they do it will cost a bomb.

This going nowhere, come to the point man, neo v is the little one of the neo, and camera is fine of the neo v, do you have tested by yourself, no ? Dont complain the Neo V, peeps are happy with the Neo V so if you have a good camera? By a sony camera !! Or phone because no phone will ne perfect.

how is the touch and battery?
Battery depends on Rom and Kernel you use.
Screen reaction is good, but a little dark for my taste (day-/sunlight)
Had Huawai X5pro before and liked its screen much more.
No don't go with galaxy s+ it has no led flash... If you don't care about the cam, go for galaxy s+ it's got 1.4GHz.

I have just rooted my phone and with JJ Hybrid 3.2 it runs with super speed.
It has good number of custom roms in XDA.
Jelly Beans devlopment is already in progress.. I tried it yesterday and it is more than BETA..

I also prefer Neo, although it's very hard to find it in my country than Neo V. I have to stroll around many shop to find it. But it is really worth it. :good:

Since it's a newer phone than Neo V, JB updates are much more possible for it than for Neo V!
The look of Xperia U is much better.. Especially the colour changing transparent bar.. That looks awesome when phone in hand!
And performance is some what better than Neo V because of the dual core processor in it!

yes thats true but the ony sad thing is by the Xperia U is, you have no mirco sd slot and must do it all with 4gb of the 8gb, i replace my neo v for Xperia U soon.

P for sure, though I'd recommend an Xperia V for a slightly higher money. Definitely worth every penny.
FYI, P got a gig of memory, JellyBean, unibody and is sexy
I think the battery backup is a bit on the downside, but still...

First of all it's called Xperia and not Experia
Second xda is not a forum for people how don't know which device they should buy
Nevertheless I'll answer your questions
The JellyBean thing:
Xperia P = Yes it has JellyBean
Xperia U = Nope
Xperia Go = Yes
It's also important how your wife use/want to use her phone
If she let it fall down 3 times a day, the Xperia Go is recommended.
If she likes a better screen resolution and a bigger display the Xperia P will be good
And if she don't like JellyBean the Xperia U is perfect

I would say Sola, because of the expandable memory.
I'd go for the Xperia P. Also before buying one, make sure you have checked all phones from your price range, like Samsung Galaxy S3 mini

Are you sure she wants to change phone? Xperia arc s is great! The screen is bigger than p. Even if it's a 1.4 ghz single core with 512 mb ram, is pretty fast. You can also get a fantastic cm10 for it. I suggest you to purchase an higher range Xperia phone or not to buy any.
