[Q] Moonshine S-OFF Issue - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I was trying to S-OFF my HTC One using moonshine's method but could not get it to work properly.
As you will see from the screen shot (attached), its stuck there and doesn't go further.
I have gone over the guide multiple times. Fast boot is unchecked , USB debugging is checked, ADB and fastboot drivers are working.
I am currently using a T-Mobile version HTC one with the following software information:
Android Version: 4.1.2
HTC Sense version: 5.0
Software Number: 1.27.531.11
HTC SDK API Level: 5.12
Baseband version: 4A.17.3250.20_10.40.1150.04L
Can somebody here guide me what I am doing wrong or missed out something ?

You can't s-off. If you want to know more just use the search function or Google. This has been discussed many times in many threads.

Soff was patched when u took the new 1.27.531.11 update

"How to Convert Any HTC One into a Stock Google Play Edition with Bootloader, Recovery, & OTA Updates"

Pretty sure u need soff to do super cid
Or anything further than just unlock and root.
You may be able to flash the older 1.27.531.8 Rom and then try it since the bootloiader wasn't updated.
If your on 1.27.531.11 you have to downgrade with a Rom or ruu
Don't quote me but I think people have don'e this to get soff

[Q] About CID and S-OFF situation?

Hi guys, I have T-Mobile version. So, I have unlocked, S-OFF, changed to CID to 111111 and installed custom recovery. So now, am I able to have official firmware and software updates from T-Mobile or should I install Developer RUU from HTC? If I want to install Developer Edition RUU, which one should I choose? I have checked HTC website and I am lost .
Thank you!

if you want to install the RUU and make ur tmobile one a dev edition you should install it from here http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
should be the very top/first link on the list.
t-mobile havent released the RUU for their htc one variant yet... making very difficult for those who flashed a custom recovery and now want to go back to its original state and be able to instal ota updates again.
make sure ur CID have 11111111 (eight ones!!) before installing

Thanks for answer. I have a one more question though. What are the advantages and disadvantages of installing Dev RUU? When I install Dev RUU, am I going to able get official software and firmware updates directly from HTC instead of T-Mobile?

I have final question . When I install Dev RUU, do I need to flash Radio seperately for T-Mobile or it is inside of RUU? If yes, how can I flash Radio?
Thank you very much!

No need to install radio

even if it did it would still work. im on tmo with the leaked 4.2 radio and it works fine
tmobile dev edition wont install ota..but it can check and find it?
i have the t-mobile htc one that i hcnaged to the dev edition. there was an ota update today (1.29.1540.17) and when it tried to install, it said that I am running a modified version of the system and to protect my phone, that it cannot update it.
i am not running anything modified... my phone is unlocked and s-off but nothing more...not rooted...no custom recovery...nada....... do i need to make it s-on or something ?

[Q] Should i need s-off or s-on

should i need s-off to install a international firmware on my at&t one ?
or else i can do it with s-on ?

Yes you need to be s-off in order to install firmware that does not match your CID or MID.

You need s-off if you are going to run a different carriers ruu if you want to run a custom rom from the international forum you can be s-on or s-off

I just went through this process and S-OFF is not enough, you also need to change your MID otherwise OTAs will fail. I will write something up soon on what I did to convert my ATT to International ROM.
Just got my One today, coming from an S-Off One X. Is getting S-Off deemed important on the One?
##Update##
Realized how easy it was to obtain S-Off compared to the HTC One X (which admittedly was pretty easy already) and went ahead and did it anyways
Honestly if you need to ask this type of question do not attempt it, just because its on here doesnt mean its a necessity...htc dev unlock the phone and flash a custom rom and be happy with that for now until youve read read and read some more....

[Q] Stuck Need Help!!!!!!

Hi, my rezound was rooted running cm 10.1 liquid smooth and i am upgrading to the droid maxx soon so i relocked my boot loader go the ruu from androidpolice.com (ics) and attempted flashing in hboot but it says (hboot version too old update failed) my hboot version is 2.28 and im s-on.
You have to run an RUU that is the same version as your hboot. You can't run an older RUU on an s on phone. There's no downgrading when you're s on.

i know but i need the ruu all of them ive tried so far dont work
Look in about phone/software/more or something close to that and post your baseband versions. I think it may be an OTA update that wasn't available as of early July in RUU version. You may have to unlock it and manually flash the stock Rom and recovery but I'll see if an RUU has been uploaded since then. Someone from the HTC Elevate program might have one lying around. That's where I usually see RUU's that haven't been available to the general public.

this is the android police site http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...cream-sandwich-ruu-for-final-ota-3-14-605-12/
http://androidforums.com/rezound-all-things-root/716364-newest-global-rom.html
That page in posts #3 and 4 has the info and link you need. Really you only need the recovery out of that set of stuff. But if you're s on you will need to flash the whole package. But you want to first flash the latest stock Rom that's available, if you're still on a cm10 Rom. That would be the first thing I do is get back to a stock sense Rom anyway. Then you can flash the stock firmware update which contains stock hboot, recovery, and radios.

You have the hboot provided from the last OTA update, there is no RUU out for it. Only way to revert is s-off your phone first.

Just wanted some Insight
I got a new but preowned one from a guy he mentioned that it got s update ..some update recently for the software that patches the ability to soff .

I am guessing it is for Tmobile?
I have that same version.
It disables revone or moonshine for working so essentially s-off.
I was able to still unlock the bootloader via HTCDev and root using TWRP and SuperSU.
Not really sure what s-off does, since I am able to load custom roms and etc. with current setup anyways....
....
S-off lets us convert to the full GPE version and get ota. I hope devs find a way of getting s-off on 531.11

s-off is security check off. it stops the bootloader from checking for signatures pretty much letting you flash Whatever aslong as the recovery accepts it. can also turn off the recoveries signature check but thats alot easier to do as the recovery alows you to do so freely.
And anyone wouldnt happen to know more info on this would they. as ive noticed sense i did the manual OTA update via HTC's site, regaining s-off is proving to be imensley didficult. "i s-on'd whiel debugging things and regret it lol"
From what I have been able to gather the updated 1.44 or 1.54 cannot be s-offed using revone or moonshine currently.
I'm pretty happy right now, all I care about is GPe 4.3 anyways. Running of 4.3 ROM, firmware, and radio with just unlocked boot loader

Can I still get S-off?

I am using a T-mobile HTC One. It was previously rooted. I restored to stock by using the RUU from HTC. I unlocked the bootloader so I currently have unlocked S-on. My HBOOT Ver is: 1.44.0000. Radio Version is 4A.17.3250.20. Am I screwed or can I still get S-OFF? I have tried Revone but it's not working. Any Ideas?

Sorry dude, pretty much screwed until they find a work around for the .11 update. I made the mistake of accidentally S-On and forgetting to lock instead of relocking my bootloader (wanted to return for warranty purposes). After that I've tried pretty much everything from downgrading to the stock ROM using customs ROMS trying to edit RUU's to work with my phone (Do not try this, easiest way to brick your very expensive phone) Nothing works as of now, Htc and t-mobile screwed us by not giving us the Stock RUU they knew what they were doing. But yes you have to wait.
*NOTE* On the otherhand i did learn that i didn't need to lock my bootloader to return it for warranty purposes the guy at the t-mobile store replaced it right there for me no questions asked. But the replacement i got came with the updated .11 ROM which means no S-Off for me still.
Damn. That's what I was afraid of. I just kept reading that as long as you had 1.44 h-boot it was still possible, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Well thanks anyway for responding.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium HD app
Wait I thought you could s-off with that hboot i thought 5xxx was unable to s-off
You can s-off hboot 1.44 as long as you haven't taken the latest tmobile ota or used the tmobile ruu, they patched whatever it was that allowed us to s-off in the latest version

If we go back to .8, can we S-OFF? I want to take this thing to GPE, but need S-OFF.

Take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582&page=469
Lots of info there. Some of it conflicting but in a nutshell, no if you've taken the .11 update from T-Mobile.
i would wait till revone or moonshine get a fix on it.
Or go the HTC dev way

I have tried this and was unsuccessful. Luckily I was able to run the RUU and it was fine again but it won't achieve S-OFF
You can downgrade from .11 to .8 using a custom ruu. Google " downgrade from .11 to .8 rootzwiki" and you'll find it.

Ok guys not to sound stupid but I've rooted plenty of phones and have had pretty much every top tier phone. I've rooted all my android phones. I just don't understand the s-off portion of it all. I have s-off and currently rooted. What advantage do I have over someone that doesn't have s-off? I got my one already rooted so I never went through the process. I guess that's why I'm confused. I'm used to Samsung phones.
When the update comes next week should i just wait for a rooted version of it? I'm assuming so.

S-OFF basically allows you to do 2 main things you couldn't otherwise pertaining to Roms and such:
1- flash unsigned RUUs. You can flash custom firmware that don't belong to your device. IE: you can flash the newest 4.3 firmware prior to 4.3 releasing for the T-Mobile One.
2: get yourself out of a jam. Here's a great example. Let's say you flashed the stock GPE recovery and ROM. Your S-ON. You wanted the full GPE experience. Your phone took the newest update. It will flash 1.54 Hboot and update the boot loader to the black GPE version although you are S-ON and not running the GPE device. Without S-ON your SOL if you needed to go back to stock for whatever reason because the HBoot can't be rolled back on S-ON.
Its a good protection to have in your back pocket IMO

So that would explain how I am able to flash Roms from the international version. Well I guess I better be careful with any RUUs that are to come. I need to figure out how I'm going to update when the tmobile One's 4.3 update comes this week.

So once S-OFF is achieved, can flashing any RUU set it back to S-ON? If so, how can that be avoided?
I have a tmobile phone flashed with launch WWE firmware; don't care about WiFi calling or any carrier bloat, but did want the 1700 HSPA+. I'm thinking of clean flashing to latest Tmobile RUU to get the supposed LTE reception improvements, then going from there to back to launch WWE and to latest WWE (to try to retain settings).

No you would have to purposely set it back to s-on, an RUU won't do it. Would you be doing the tmobile Thu then installing WWE Rom ? Or flashing WWE RUU? Cause the ruu would just reset everything XP

Thanks. It does seem a bit like voodoo magic but I want to avoid any possible issues that people in the radio only thread have reported.
use rumrunner to achirve s-off. thats the only way then use revone to reset tamper
