[Q] Android update 4.2.2, games won't start - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
This morning I installed the newest android update (4.2.2) on my Samsung Galaxy SII+. The first notifications that I got after the installation where Google+ has crashed and Skype has crashe. That two apps are fixed by deleting and installing again, but many of my apps (the most are games) won't start anymore. I know that I can fix it with deleting and installing again, but with some apps I was very buzy and then I'll lose all my progres. As example with head soccer it took me 5 days to get a special country. Any one who know how to make my apps working without losing progress? I can also wait on further updates for the games but Head Soccer was just update 1 week ago and it'll take a long time before the new update will come.
Bye, Rick

In the past I had this problem but I let the phone alone after 1 day or less my apps become to the market alone, but this time 3 days has passed and nothing happens

thanks anyway

New market update

Does anyone else have issues with downloading and installing apps sometimes? I find I can update already installed apps but when I see an app I like it will hang and say please wait iirc and an orb will just rotate constantly.... Previous version works but as soon as you remove update in applications it works but then instantly the market is updated to New version.
Yup, it takes ages for the new market to load apps, sometime it gets stuck the way you mention and i need to delete data and market cache in order for it to load apps in the market or installed apps. Hopefully they will fix it in a new update.

[Q] No Smart(Delta) Updates for Android ??

Smart Updates (Delta Updates) from Play Store were working fine until now.
From the past month and half, I have observed that the Smart Updates seem to have been disabled or stopped for all the apps.
The entire app is downloaded again, wasting time and precious data.
Am I missing some settings on my phone/account ?
Has anyone else experienced this ?
Samsung Galaxy S II, GT-I9100
JB 4.1.2, Chameleon ROM 3.0.1
Jeboo Kernel v1.3

Even I'm facing the similar issue. Every time I update an App entire App gets downloaded, Smart Updates are not working for me either. I googled about this but I couldn't find any official statement from Google regarding this, I also posted about this on Google Forums last month but there is no reply from anyone :crying:
I am merely speculating...
But the app developers themselves must have stopped providing delta updates !
:silly:
Anyone else with similar experience !??
Well..
Last night I updated a few applications and it seems that - Smart Updates is working fine..
So it was merely a case of bad timing.. and I panicked to soon.. :silly:
I confirm again - Smart Updates are working in Play Store..
what i think is the google play sometimes fail to detect the delta so google thinks the app update it's whole app. bcz i've tried upload a 3mb apk myself to google play, and upload another update with adding a small image abt 100kb, but after that in the client side the google play still download the whole 3mb.
I think I'm getting "Package file is invalid" error because of delta updates.
What happens is that when Play Store tries to update an app or download and install a new one from the Store.. the Downloader shows the file is downloaded more than the PS shows it is downloaded. For example when downloading Maps to the phone I see in PS the download is at 5% but Downloader show in notification area that its downloaded 13%.. so when the download reaches 54% or so in PS.. Downloader says its done and phone tries to install an incomplete apk giving the error.
This does not happen on all but some apps for me.. I tried clearing the data/cache for Downloader/Gapps and delte cache/dalvik from recovery but still happening.. I cannot download plugins for my Go Launcher Ex now
I wish I could turn delta downloads off.

Google play services restart every 10 seconds

Good day everyone first post here and really seeking some help to a headache i'm facing. I know it's long but please bare with me.
What is happening
So this all started when i was frustrated that i only have 80Mb of internal storage on my phone and every time i need to update whatsapp i need to uninstall it and install it again. I looked up some things i can do and what i found was SD maid and it worked really well, it removed junk files and log files to the point where i had 800Mb open i was smiling bright haha, i reinstalled whatsapp with no problem.....a little bit later my phone starts to vibrate every 10 seconds and then 3 seconds later another and this has been going on for the last day. I uninstalled whatsapp thinking that it may have caused this to happen in some way and then i noticed that it's not the cause, my phone is still vibrating and lagging so i checked my running apps and saw that google play services had two services, one running fine and then i noticed that the other one is restarting every 10 seconds, so every time my phone vibrates it restarts.
My setup
Samsung pocket android 2.3.6
Rooted
What i have tried:
First thing i did was cleared Play store and services cash and data and i also did the framework.
It didn't work so i uninstalled play store to factory default and uninstalled services as well, so then installed the latest version from apkmirror.
I also installed a older version just to make sure it's not the latest version that's having this problem.
Things i noticed
The service that get's restarted each time is: com.google.data.gms.persistence and when it's running it's name is google fit.
When i installed whatsapp again just to have it while my phone vibrates like this, i could not finish the install because i needed to authenticate my google drive ownership and it fails to do so because i think the service that handles the syncing is the one that's restarting
I do not know what to do about it because i have tired what i can think of, so if anyone has any idea what i can do i would incredibly appreciate it
Does anyone have any idea to what i can do? the only thing that i can think of is to reset the phone and that would suck
Hey all so after a whole day of trying to fix my phone i finally think i got it working.
So what i did was backup my phone's data and the factory reset my phone.....it was fine for a bit but when i needed to install google play services the problem came back, i downloaded it from the play store so there was no problem with that. So what fixed it for me was installing a much older version of the play services app (latest version is something like: 9.4.xx and the one i installed was 8.3.01) The older version does not make my phone vibrate and also my play store runs faster now as well.
At the end of the day i didn't need to factory reset my phone i just needed to install a much older play services. Hope this helps someone else in the future have a awesome day.

Google play wont update apps anymore.

Since the latest T Mobile update , I cannot get any of my apps on the play store to update .
Any advice? Cheers.
Edit. I had to turn WiFi on and off a few times and restart Google play app. All good now.
This is interesting. I've noticed the sharp decline in updates that I normally see...which has been at least 1 or 2 apps every day/other day. Since the update, I haven't been getting any updates. I found it rather odd, but didn't think too much about it....I thought maybe devs were taking some time off for the holidays and not pushing out updates.
