Personally I am thankful for both of you. I downloaded the HTC hosted RUU and flashed my phone while waiting on the decrypted version to finish downloading so I could play with it.
I've never had much luck with dev-host downloading quickly.

Any chance we could see a clean Rom released on this base? Some of us are required to stay on stock att bases.
Thanks.

I was thinking about it.
What specifically requires you to be on an AT&T base?

I am still thinking about making a base on this.
I got my kernel tools set up too so... Im still giving it thought!

How can I flash this without wiping internal sd?

One thing that this base has, where the international does not.... is the Amber/Emergency Alert System.
While I can see how a lot of people would be happy about that, other people would like to be part of the alert system for various reasons.
I know in my area, everyones phones have been going off lately with amber alerts, and was wondering why mine was silent. I'm assuming it has to do with the international rom I'm running on cleanrom 4.0.

anyone have any issues running this RUU?
Getitng 171 / 170 connection errors when it starts the process waiting for bootloader
Black screen with silver HTC Logo
relocked my boot loader , reinstalled htc drivers, adb / fastboot work fine. Tried different usb ports / different computers. Also tried running as admin , in compatibility mode and no luck.
Have no clue what else to try
Im supercid 11111111 so I should be able to flash right?
tried CWS__001 , no change
to make it even weirder I tried running the RUU 1.26.502.12 and it worked :/ so confused now.
going to try the zip now
well the zip worked , coulda saved myself all the trouble

can i run the RUU from fastboot? i keep getting error 170 connection error

This new app for sensation/e3d etc. got me thinking. It is for devices that have S-ON but are unlocked. I believe I can fix all of our boot image installing woes with the process this app outlined. Once I finish my physics homework, I am going to get some scripts cooking and I think we can have roms install the boot images from recovery.

What I don't get is why the devs can't just agree en masse which mainver they're going to use, and then everyone uses that version.
Well they shouldn't use one higher than the RUUs we have so we can restore if necessary. I have had to RUU before because I corrupted my cache partition once.
But some devs used the ICS leak mainver and some people were idiots and installed the leak before it was ready and got their mainvers higher than what we have RUUs for.

That's one of the reasons I wait a day or so to flash a new ROM if it just getting released. I always wait to see what the problems are first.
I just check it first and replace the android-info as needed. I am still on the 1.x mainver because I am careful and I was one of the first to flash the ICS leaks

I didn't know about the entire mainver thing until the leak came out. I'm new to HTC phones and stuff. But I'm on the 2.x mainver just because I forgot to change it the other day when I was in a flash frenzy. Oh well

This will be great once you get it running.
I'm curious what the reason is that you want to remain on 1.x when the official update brought the phone to 2.x? I'm on 2.x but running a ROM from 1.x even though they just came out with an update for 2.x because I want to keep the red theme made for it.
Btw... the dsb kernel was installed in recovery, like the AnthraX one is. Flashed a zip in recovery that made the PHzip that flashed as an update. Is this different than that?
I haven't flashed the new radios and stuff.

It isn't that crazy or that dangerous. I have flashed my misc a few times when I was seeing if I could hex edit the CID to HTC__001 instead of VZW__001 which would have allowed HTC dev unlock before we got their blessing.

yup. pick 32 or 64 bit and then, once you figure out your hboot, put the number in the V.VV in the final command.
also, it supports 2.21 and 2.25 hboot's. ill support the 2.27 when there is a JB/eng version

This looks fun! I'm going to try it as my last ditch effort to revive my phone.
My phone was on GB (was running what's listed in my sig). I don't know what my hboot was, I got the first GB OTA. Now, my phone was working fine until a few days after the ICS release. It rebooted itself and never came to life, but I think the battery was dead too. From what I've read I shouldn't have been able to take the OTA but I find the timing suspicious, and I have tried everything related to dead battery reviving that I have found and there is still no life. At all. So I think maybe I had some sort of interrupted OTA?
Questions:
- I do not have a linux box. I have Vista and tomorrow my new laptop with Win 7 is shipping. Does it matter which OS I use if I use the Live CD? I have one I grabbed at least a couple years ago, do I need to get a new one? Not sure if the new laptop with Win 7 will still have usb 2.0. I also have a Mac desktop running Snow Leopard.
- Does the RUU I use depend on the hboot version I determine or should I just go to the latest ICS RUU?
TIA

I would recommend using Ubuntu 12.04.
You should probably use the official ICS OTA, which is the 3.14.605.12 RUU.
You can't upgrade directly the latest update from Gingerbread.

EDIT: If it still has the 2.21 hboot I think you have to run the gb ruu.

Well this didn't turn out to be as fun as I thought it would be.
Any hope for Hboot 2.27?
I am needing these instructions because my device will not get past the 4G boot animation after updating to the global roaming update (4.03.605.1). I was previously on 3.14.605.10. I had tried to update to 3.14.605.12 but I couldn't so I thought it would be ok to skip it and go straight to the global roaming update. Apparently I was wrong. Up to that point I was still locked. Now, in my meager efforts to repair, I have unlocked and flashed a custom recovery using hansoon's all in one tool, simply because it seemed like all roads to recovery pointed in that direction. But that's where it all stops. I cannot find any way to flash a stock ROM while on an unlocked bootloader. I simply want this phone to be exactly how it would be if someone were to pick it up from a Verizon store (except with having a re-locked bootloader rather than locked). This route seems like my best bet except for the fact that I'm on Hboot 2.27 now with and this process only seems to work up through 2.25. Are there any things I can do to make this work?

[Q] Anyone flashed a different RUU yet on their TMO device? (After S-OFF/SuperCID)

Asking to see if it did anything to the AWS band we have exclusively on our T-Mobile devices. I haven't taken the plunge yet, and am not asking anyone to be a test dummy for us, but if someone's done it already it would help out the rest of us to know!
As I stated in another thread, I'm gonna try to flash a Dev Edition RUU in a few hours when I get out of work to see if the HSPA on AWS band will stay or not. It should help give some clues as to whether there is an actual hardware difference in our T-Mobile Ones or if it's just software. I'll let you guys know what happens.

If it's att then AT&T . Telus will not work. Don't forget to lock bootloader and remember this will wipe everything on the phone even sd card

Is your phone AT&T? If yes then run the Cingular 1.19 thats the most recent. Is your phone telus? Then run the telus one.

Ok great, ill run the Cingular one. yes it's an AT&T. Though will a "RELOCKED"bootloader suffice? I "fastboot oem lock"ed it but it said failed and when i reopened in hboot it now says relocked.

I'm having a very similar issue to you except the ruu is not working for me and I also had received the latest ruu zip from the HTC website but get verification errors when I install them. Mine one is a international version though.
If you manage to fix your issue can you please post how?
thank you.

Could you please guide me through a return to 100% stock of my August - HTC M9 version
I am hoping an amateur like me could get my phone fixed too through the help of the group here. I recently bought a swappa phone didnt realize the ATT HTC M9 phone was an unlocked international Custom ROM, it worked the first day smooth with my ATT SIM. But from day two I couldnt receive any incoming call. I was told that by the seller to switch back to stock ROM ... Thus I started this exploration, completed an S-OFF using the sunshine $25 apk, Enabled developer version and USB debugging, but am not very clear with the next steps.
Especially 1. Which ROM version to download ? Should I know the original stock firmware version, if so how to ?
2. By SD card is it meant Micro SD inserted in the phone ? Can it be done by USB cord with out SD card ?
3. The OS in the system info says 2.6.502.18 ROM HTC so should I use the same RUU ?
Sorry if the questions sound so amateurish can't help it.
With s-off then you should be able to flash any att ruu. As long as you haven't messed with your modelid (don't remember what it's called). I would recommend running any att m9 ruu to clean up your device then do a full conversion to the dev edition. That will give you a clean ROM to mess with and coming from my m8 I expierenced less issues while on a dev ruu while flashing roms. Also if you're running a ruu through your computer then you don't need a SD card .

Without S-off you can only flash RUUs that update your software or are the same version and you cannot flash RUUs meant for other devices like the DEV edition RUU.

So, I'm almost there - I'm unlocked (using HTCDEV site), TWRP Recovery installed, Rooted, and (FINALLY!!) S-OFF!! (not sure why, but that last one made me really nervous). Also changed CID to CWS_001 ........ so now I'm ready to flash the Developer ROM - but there are a bunch of them and I'm not sure which one I should use. My main goal is to get to Android 6.0 - can I use a RUU file to go directly to the Marshmallow firmware or is this something I have to do in steps? Will I lose OTA? Thanks again!

I am now officially a "convert" - i figured it out. I started with 1.32.502.31 and have been updating all afternoon. I'm finally on the last update - 3.35.617.2 and I'll have Marshmallow. Goodbye AT&T - I was really tired of waiting for them to get their act together.
