THE first question I asked myself after using Xperia ZU for almost 2days was "How can I take a screen shot on Xperia"
it was natural since I never used any other phone other then Galaxy series.
I knew I can find something if I Google it. But told myself to try by my own before I surrender myself to Google.
It was easy and I figured it out on 1st attempt :-
POWER BUTTON+VOLUME DOWN simultaneously
I decided to share this bcoz I am sure there other like me out there migrated to Xperia for the 1st time.

Great info, I'm one of them who is totally new to Sony's smartphones (the last time I used was Sony Ericson Walkman phones).
Looks like Sony is really keeping the UI close to stock android - the screenshot buttons are the same as stock.
Yes u r right... It is very near to Stock rom, as it is least baked unlike Samsung roms, which are heavily Baked on Galaxy series.
This is why you will always see Sony be the 1st amongst the others to rollout any new Update and Versions.

To the OP:
Don't listen to skmminstones! Stick with your S2! Trust me you're just a bit bored of your S2, that's all. Once you switch the phone for the crappy xperia S. Just after 2 weeks you'll regret that decision, trust me....
Or get something that is actually an upgrade, such as the S3 and One X (As someone previously stated).
That's like suicide. You'll be crying down the line two weeks later.
A real upgrade is S3 or One X

Xperia S is a worse phone overall. Even though it has better screen resolution (worse panel though) and a better camera that's about it.
Good thing is it shoots much better videos in lowlight and does nice photos.
I would say better than S2 by a small margin in that aspect.
Overall I thought it was a really great phone until I actually played with it for a while... It's true. It is a downgrade. I am really happy to have my S2 instead of SXS even though it doesn't have 12mpix and a 720p screen.
Stay with S2 .

Xperia S is actually a last Gen phone with 12 map camera. Stay away.
i would avoid sony phones as they have started locking bootloaders on their new phone range , if your gonna stay on their rom then its ok.
heres the instructions to unlock

Dial *#*#7378423#*#* (or *#*#service#*#*) on your phone. This brings up the service menu.
Go to Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. Find the item for “Bootloader unlock allowed”. If the item is missing, or if its value is “No,” DO NOT continue with the rest of this guide.

Just noticed it as I read it again XD You know when you read something once on a forum then its still isn't enough to actually tell whether he is fking with him or he is serious
So this is what I learned today: Read the question twice!! <---What every teacher says to me coincidentally...
I think the sg3 is too big. The home button is in a bad position too. I played with a HTC one x. It's too big and had a permanent battery. What would I do? I have had to pull the battery out of this sg2 many times.
I think I will be staying with the sg2 for a good while. The HTC one s is the only thing a sort of like now but not enough to switch.

Hi everybody,
The camera flash of my new Samsung S3 haven't worked since the first day I've got my new phone. Factory reset didn't help The phone is in repair now, but I 'm wondering - did anyone have the same problem, or it's only my bad luck.

Try a flashlight App from the market then you'll know if it's just cam software related.
You're the first one I've heard of who has a broken LED light, so it's not a common issue.
However even with the most rigorous quality control, when building several millions of a device there are a few bound to be broken upon shipping or have loose connections.
Had to choose between U and Sola..Went for the U because of a full warranty instead of "partial", better shop and service, same preformance with a slightly smaller screen

They are not official sony destrebuters and their "lab" is a small table with a middle aged russian guy "fixing" phones...I bought my last Atrix there...they really suck.
The shop where i got the U called "Bug" and they are official sony destrebuters so I got Sony warranty

One Q's - when you turn screen off and the LED fades out, can you see a little bit shades of green light there ?

look on the side of the led and turn off display.
you will probably see a dim green light just before it goes completely off.

There is no method of backing up the TA partition yet. You don't loose much by wiping the DRM keys though. The only thing that i noticed stopped working was the video unlimited service which most of us probably don't use anyway. X-Reality engine and camera keep working without DRM keys.

Follow those steps if you are sure it's not working for you. Take 2 screenshots with and without x-reality and compare them on your computer. X-Reality is working perfectly fine.

Edit, my mistake, didnt click link lol, i havent reflashed a stock firmware n to be honest i cant be bothered either.... x reality dont do much anyway
If you are talking about post with blue cigarette pack and blue monitor, then its quite obvious xreality is working, you have to be blind to not see that oversaturation
When you have a method for root access on a locked bootloader, I think it will be possible to backup

Doomlord has mentioned nothing at all breaks with 4.4 when you unlock your bootloader
It seems all of Z2s ive had hand with havent had any affect of unlocking your bootloader
Backing up your TA partition isnt posible at this time probably because no one has even tried

yes im talking about pics with cigarette packet and monitor, this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755893&page=3 page 3, post 28, as anyone can clearly see there is absolutely no difference in the first 2 pics (do note the blu in the title = bootloader unlocked) and then in the next 2 pics (please note the lb in the title for locked bootloader) there is clearly a difference.
Edit: my mistake, thought envious data wrote that (hmmmm maybe i do have vision issues after all lol). Deleted the bit that wasnt aimed at feis

Really??? my laptops f****** then, coz there aint no difference
Your notebook is fine, the effects of X-Reality can be seen on only Sony devices supporting the feature and only on Sony apps, such as Album and Movies. I am sure that I am correct in my presumption.
Either ways I personally do not care, care more audio output quality.

You are correct and also wrong. It can be seen only on phone's screen but the pictures in that thread are screen snapshots from Album, so you see a difference (pictures 3-4, closeup of the cigarette pack)

lol i know its fine, as i know my x-reality is no longer working. It dont come across well in text but saying it was f****** was pure sarcasm
i am a samsung user,i want to jump on to sony xperia z2 coz im tired of that boring design of samsung and now when i was comparing a demo at the store,z2 superior auto is less sharp to samsung 16mp auto,but 20mp was better than samsung in sharpness,but there overall appearance is not as cool as superior auto,dont know why,maybe we got to adjust some settings,so why isnt sony giving that 20mp superior auto,i dont care if it take 10mb pics or 20mb pics,i got a 64gb sd card,why arent they giving us that option? what is the use of 20mp if it doesnt take good pics? not all are camera pros to adjust all the setting like iso and **** for diff shots for diff lighting conditions,will they make it auto in future updates? btw i dont want to root my device if i get z2 and use mods for that ****

It's easy guys, i tried to post a simple thread the other day with required files and simple step by step instructions my 6 year old niece could follow, but it wouldnt let me for some reason.
Will try again later. For the record, my xreality stopped working after i unlocked, although some people say theres is fine. Not a big deal and i aint tried yet but apparently you can get it going again
unlocking your bootloader is safe so long as you folow the instructions
warning- your warrenty is void if you Unlock your BL(bootloader)
if you want to unlock your bootloader , id recomend you use this tool

also id recomend looking at development forums, doomlord has posted some nice info, a guide even
