What to do to give chd to service center without them having any doubt? - Micromax A116

Well my chd is within warranty and I wanna give it to them so that they fix my camera flash problem. Since I have flashed stock 4.2 ROM is it OK to flash stock 4.1 using sp flash tools?? Is there a binary/flash counter on Chd which counts the no. of times I have flashed a ROM? Do I have to use triangle away? Will they get to know the ROM flashes and reject? Please do answer. Thank you in advance

As far as I know, SVC guys are not so smart enough to doubt if you re-flash the stock ROM using SP Flash tools.
Also, I had used the stock recovery once after reflashing stock ROM and there was no alert triangle icon. So, no need to worry about that.
Just clean your SD card and Internal SD card after reflashing stock ROM to be sure, so that any additional folders created using any Root app or custom recovery (specially such as Titanium Backup, Clockword, TWRP) are not present.

Thank you for your reply. So there will be no problem in flashing stock 4.1 after firmware upgrade to 4.2. OK will try to trick those guys

Remeber, you might get TPUpgrade again when you downgrade to 4.1.2 with SP Flash Tools

You also can't install Stock ROMs with stock recovery, neither with CWM...
You'll need Odin.
Mobile ODIN is the only choice...
Also were you referring to stock ICS or Custom ROMs???
If its custom ROMs then you can directly flash using CWM...
But If stock one then you need Odin....else use kies to update..
Press thanx if i Helped..:good:

[Q] Stock recovery flash

Can i flash stock recovery with mobile odin
you can't flash a stock recovery. it comes with a stock rom, and mobile Odin is made exactly for flashing stock roms

I was pretty sure there isn't a stock recovery separately from the rom.
of course you can flash a rom with mobile Odin, that's what it's for

But can i flash stock samsung rom with mobile odin and will it then make everything stock(recovery)(rom)and modified status too...
you are asking the same question for the third time, read my replies.
you will need to use Triangle Away, unroot, then factory reset for everything to be stock

once you already went back to stock rom, then your traiangle away but still want your phone rooted. what you can do is to search here in XDA the CFAutoroot for our S3 and your system status still be NORMAL. works for me
I used cf auto root and have always had stock rom. I still have modified status.

I think I need to completely reset my device.
For that do I need pit file?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you mess with Pit you are likely to have a brick .
Flash stock rom via Odin .
jje
don't mess with PIT, just reflash another working CM rom (like slim) and it should be fine. THen if you want re flash stock, but you should be fine anyway.

1)To install cm10.1 you have to unlock your bootloader. This procedure will void your warranty.
2)You can still relock your bootloader flashing this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1920199 . Notice that if you lock your bootloader when you are on custom rom that requires unlocked bootloader (cm9.1 cm10 cm10.1) you will have some serious problems.
3) To unlock your bootloader follow this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159
4) After that to install cm10.1, you have follow the steps here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2337493 . On the first post you will see installation. Follow these steps and everything will go fine.

there is no cwm for locked bootloader on gb, that's why i didn't mention it. You have to unlock bootloader, install custom kernel prerooted and with cwm.
What do you mean for stock kernel and cm10.1 kernel? I am confused. Stock kernel is one thing and cm10.1 kernel is another thing. cm10.1 kernel you can find it inside the zip with the rom you have to download.

To flash stock rom there is no need to unlock bootloader but to flash custom one you need to unlock bootloader..... And there are two types of bricked phone 1st soft brick(which can be repair) 2nd hard brick (which can not be repaired) so if you do something wrong and your phone get hard brick you can't repair it and also unlocking bootloader can hard Brick your phone so only do it when you know everything about it... But if you soft brick it you can repair it by downloading stock rom and flashing it with flashtools

I think I'm confusing us and myself. so
1. no matter which ROM I use how can I flash GB or ics stock ROM via PC/flash tools in offline. It should work 100% (because xperia u got only limited internal memory. and that's why I can't keep backup files alway . and if I break my phone I will not able to use internal memory to copy any files there)
2. can I switch between any to any type ROM like
GB to cm10
cm10 to ICS
3. can I switch between stock gb to custom ICS ROM directly?
I will unlocked my bootloader

No. You have to root and install cwm. If you want to install custom kernel you have to unlock your bootloader, otherwise there is no reason doing so.
I want to upgread my GB phone to ICS (c.1.0). how can I do that?

does it(c.1.0) need unlocking?

No need to unlock, it's not a custom kernel. It's all stock. I told it to you already
You have to use flashtool.
Download this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2029415 it's ics firmware.
Now you have to download flashtool. This is where you can download it: http://androxyde.github.io/
Now you have to flash the rom.
Here you will find a video on how to flash the rom. The procedure is the quite the same. The only thing that changes is when you have to plug usb cable on phone, you will see the instructions on the video, you have to press volume down button and not back button. link for the video :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmmThXTWu74
