forum.xda-developers.com returns blank page on stock android 4.2.2 browser? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

See title. This happens with the homepage but not subforum or thread pages. Also the thread suggestions thing wasn't working when I made this thread, and ads are not showing (no big deal you say--but I didn't do anything to disable them and it's just odd). Everything seems to work fine in Chrome, but I'd rather not use that because of the bloat.
I dunno if it has always been like this or I screwed something up? Been playing with Greenify and Autorun Manager...

It happened to me too. (4.1.2)
But after I re-flash my ROM, it show as per normal.

Thanks I guess! It worked... but I lost all my data (duh). What I did not expect was losing all my bookmarks and even my connection to my google account from the stock browser. And I don't see any way to add accounts to the stock browser so haven't found a way to get it back. Help? :crying:
Edit: Wait, I fooled around in phone settings - >accounts and re synced my google account and the bookmarks came back. Yay! :victory:

Still, is there a less *destructive* way to get buggered pages to load properly again?

No no no you weren't supposed to wipe your data cache. You were suppose to go to system settings ---> apps---> downloaded apps--->XDA and clear the data and force close the app only. Sorry I wasn't more clear
on that point.

Yeah I didn't explain it well evidently. See above for better directions.

Yeah, well I was having trouble with xda loading on the stock browser, so I went to system settings->apps->all apps->browser and FCed it and cleared its data. Pretty close to your instructions no?
Can't imagine the havoc it would have wreaked if I wiped data in recovery without some backup
So as I was saying, pages load wrongly from the stock browser (or heck chrome even) every now and then--is wiping browser's data the only way to go? I tried wiping cache first but no joy

YouTube

Hey this is my first post and I'm kinda new. I don't know if this question has been asked but i haven't seen it in the two weeks I've been on. But the YouTube app does not work for me I always get an error that says the video cannot be played tap to retry. Now I've heard of this problem thing is it almost never worked (probably 80%) in the browser. Very rarely can I use YouTube at all on my phone. Can anyone tell me what the solution is?

Could anyone help me?

Mine does this all the time a few tap to retry's usually does it.
If not clear the app cache and data.
Go to:
Menu
Settings
Applications
Manage applications
All
Youtube
Then open youtube and log back in. This usually fixes apps that seem to have gone nuts, good luck!
If your rooted, uninstall the apk with titanium and reinstall it.
Also check for the update on the market, that's all I usually have to do with customers' phones at the store.

Yeah i have tried that before it worked once but never again. I'm not rooted yet. Weird thing was this used to happen on my hero too.

I just checked the market and there's no update. Won't even let me remove it. I cleared data and cache and it didn't help. Any other ideas?

Make sure that your flash player is up to date, too. Now that we have root, if your have done so, it would be easy to remove the app through Titanium Backup, as well.

Mine is jacked up too. Youtube app won't work in 3g but works fine in 4g and wifi. But if I go to the browser to youtube website, it works fine in 3g. So I believe it's the app. Youtube app on this phone is 2.1.7 on the market it's 2.1.6. I believe we just have a buggy new app that was made specifically for the 3d capabilities.
So the fix I think I found ,sorry it has been so long, is if you remove the routing using the msl rout to speed up your data then YouTube magically decides it likes you again.
boom!! from my shooter
mine does that occasionally but almost everytime i get that error 80 whatever it is and then i have to retry loading the page.
I never get an error number mine says disconnected from the server tap to retry
boom!! from my shooter
WTF. This application blows. I keep getting connection to server lost. Videos will only play over Wifi and not 3G or 4G. Has anyone figured this out?

Flashed my friends galaxy s

So I flashed a gummy ics from to my friends fascinate. Had a bit of trouble with the restore, unfortunately losing the contacts. It still runs a bit slow and all the programs lag and force close. I've ran fix permissions countless times. Any suggestions?

Thanks man, I'll try that stuff when I get home. With doing the wipe, if I do a backup of all the apps and app data, doesnt that kind of make the data wipe redundant?

depends on your back up methods. i use google to back up contacts and tibu to back up apps. after a data wipe i just resync goole and restore app only(no app data) from tibu and your back in business.
I always bypass the Google account, to do an app restore first. Only restore the data portion of the apps that are most important. Like a checkbook app, dolphin, Tapatalk, etc. The rest be sure to just restore the app.
One that's done add your Google account and let the contacts sync, etc.

this also happen to me a few times and clearing cache and framework didn't fix it.
I resolved this by removing TB (probably already removed and you are trying to install back in). I then use RootExplorer to manually pushed the TB apk in system/app. Reboot phone. Once installed, go to G Play and update to newest version if you don't have it already.
Had to do another full wipe after just doing one this morning!

It's a known issue, sometimes it goes away, sometimes you gotta reload your rom completely.

not necessarily true, you can install an older version of market to fix it. Worked for me as a last resort

That works temporarily, when the market auto update itself, it comes right back. Trust me, I tried
The guy above's post reminds me of a fix, wipe the cache of the apps, market, etc. Then log out of your google account, reboot, wipe them again then sign in back into your gmail account, should fix it.
He's right just remove your google account and add it again it should fix. Had this happen to me 2 days ago.

[SOLVED] 2GB Apps partition is full?!

Hi guys, i just work up and i found the attached notification. I didnt even go to market for the past week iirc. For the past 3 days i am very sure i didnt. And i went to Setings -> Application i saw i was left with 14MB. It keeps jumping between 13 and 14MB free.
Anyone encounter this before? Can guide me where to start troubleshooting? Im gonna restart the phone first. But i hope to find out the root cause
EDIT: just tried and it is still persistent

I do surf the web but i do not download stuff often, including apps. Im on the stock jelly bean leak and philz kernel. I just cleared cache and dalvik from recovery but no help. My total apps size never crossed 1GB and when i came over to this rom i only restored what i needed only which i doubt it every crossed 600MB. I am on this ROM ever since it was released on xda and i have no issues until this morning which i find it odd.
I tried to uninstall an app but it Didnt help much

Read one of the many other "insufficient storage" threads for answers. No need for another topic simply to repeat same answers.
My ans is all found here.

But how do we know which paths and folders reside on the 2GB partition? Hopefully it doesnt come back again.

Hmm..
1.Did you run any history-memory cleaner? Some days ago after running Clean Master with playstore history checked,I encoutered download error too so I wiped dalvik and cache and everything was back to normal.
2.Do you have any firewall that blocks downloading?
3.Or any other setting that prevents donwloading apps when your connection is via 3G?
4.Are you sure that this is not a bug of your rom?Check its forum.
5.What is your error description?
I am having the same problem... Shows the start page for the TOS and then jumps to either google search webpage or a web page showing the TOS. No option to agree to anything or install the app again. You can click on the play store but it just goes to the website and not the actual app. What the heck is going on?
Mine too now I can't even find the app even if I download an apk version help

I once had similar issue, I could not download apps from Google Play.
I fixed it by removing all Google accounts and then reboot and signin again.
Not sure if it's same issue but try it.
Got it I had to reset apps first. I'm a noob and had disabled it trying to fix it. After that removing and rebooting. Then resigning in worked great
