samsung stock music player not working after tbp restore - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi guys brand new to the forums but I've been studying/learning for the past month and I've been able to do a lot of customization in that small timeframe but I have a minor annoyance thats starting to grow on me, my phone is rooted (verizon sg4 me7 build)
I decided to uninstall some of my apps using titanium particularly some of the stock samsung apps that come with the phone like samsung hub and samsung music but but not the stock player. Well apparently that didnt sit too well with the phone because soon after that my stock music player has stopped working I get a message saying"unfortunately, music has stopped" so I did the obvious and restored the apps I removed, I cleared the davlik cache cleared the caches from the suspected apps and still get the error(which lets you access the stock app but crashes when you select music to play) if you guys have any ideas on what to try id love to hear it
Thanks!

[Q] Unwanted app appearing in My Apps

A random app just appeared in My Apps in the Android Market app.
There is no uninstall button, nor can I find it in /system/app or /data/app. It does not appear in Titanium Backup either.
It is called karoges, by cloudnine.
I am worried if this is some kind of malware. Has anyone seen this?
Running 2.3.6 Gingerbread on Samsung Galaxy S 4G. Valhalla Final ROM.
If I were you I would wipe data/factory reset or even Odin.
Definitely malware...
This is strange but I have the same issue with 3 apps. The first is called karoges, the second one Lovely Sky Live Wallpaper and the third is in Chinese :\
This morning most of my apps disappeared from the Market under my apps and when I performed a Full wipe and installed the stock rom these 3 apps appeared on my account which I never purchased or installed.
Now they won't go away and I have to reinstall most of my apps!
The karoges app has the same icon as the stock TMobile video player 1.0. For some reason I decided to link all user and system apps to the Market. After removing this video 1.0 player the karoges app disappeared from market.
I am guessing that is the source of the issue.

Omega 7.1 Sound issues SMS

I have tried installing omega 7.1 about 8 times now following the following instructions to install it.
- backup settings (call log, sms etc.) via samsung
- butch backup user apps via TitaniumBackup ( backup all user apps with their settings)
- backup TouchWiz home via TitaniumBackup
- create TitaniumBackup update.zip
- full wipe (as recommended in the OP)
- flash Omega using Default installation
- start android
- setup samsung account and restore settings (call log, sms etc.)
- skip google setup
- reboot to recovery and flash TitaniumBackup update.zip
- butch restore user apps via TitaniumBackup
- restore TouchWiz home (only data) via TitaniumBackup
- setup google accounts
- setup mail accounts
The ROM install goes well, fully functional and my settings back as they were, my problem is that I prefer to have the stock toggles on the drop down menu. When I revert them to stock with the Omega file kitchen files I do indeed get my stock toggles back and fully functional. But after doing that my SMS sounds are sometimes none existent, by this i mean that when receiving an sms with the screen locked the screen lights up and the sms envelope appears at the top on the status bar but there is no sound or vibration, I have toggled the notification icon in the toggles and it is green, i have even tried re toggling it to no avail. I have noticed though that it seems like all system sounds have gone too when this happens, so then I check all of the sounds settings and they are all fine, then all of a sudden sounds kick in again, weird? this is not happening on the stock ROM because I have tested it a few times between trying to suss this problem out. So when the sounds come back again I try again and it does the same thing. Its impossible to have transferred any settings as I started system settings from new each time. I know you will say "well don't revert the toggles to stock" but I am pretty sure that one of my tries that it happened before doing that,
Can anyone help, or is anyone else having the same issues when reverting to stock toggles?
I've had the same problem for a very long time...with all roms....the only way I fixed the issue was not using titanium back up and starting from scratch? For some reason titanium back up corrupts the files .....I instead imported everything from gmail

Were you able to have backups of you apps from any method? I have lots of infor stored in my apps that I cant really lose. and did titanium corrupt even if you didnt save any system settings, just apps and app data?
Like I said, I started from scratch....which meant I lost app data....I also tried just adding just my contacts....still the same issues....one thing I didn't try was just adding the apps....give it a go.

Might be better to carry out a normal TB backup to external sd card not update zip .

OK, I just tried a totally fresh install of omega 7.1 I downloaded all of the apps direct from google play, I deleted all of the titanium backups just so they couldnt get in the way. i didnt touch the rom from its default and I am still getting the problems with sms sound, I did a system wipe factory reset, wiped cache and dalvik and formatted system partition, I didnt even change anything back to stock in omega, just left it as it comes, so then i reinstalled my stock rooted backup and it works perfectly again. weird

If you're using Syahkernel, update to the latest beta.
I use it in miui with no problem.

So can i put this kernel into omega 7.1?? Im a noob at this
I have cured this issue now, Omega 8.1 has been released, so just to make sure that I didnt transfer any bad settings over I did it all from scratch, I also un-checked google backup initially incase there were any bad settings / back up in there too, and I did not use nor install titanium backup. after installing everything step by step I tested the sms sounds in numerous ways and not it works perfectly, the rom is nice and smooth too, so if anyone has problems with SMS sounds then grab the omega v8.1 rom, thank to everyone for your suggestions.

[Q]Everything's gone

Dear xda-developers,
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 android version 4.0.4 and ROOTed but no idea with which one
because I bought it with root
Everything was great, phone was working great, smoothly etc but this night I occurred weird problem.
My phone just restarted and after rebooting I noticed that instead of GoLauncher I have the normal one
and all my applications/games are gone including Google Play, YouTube, Maps, Gmail, Music Hub, Game Hub, Samsung Apps, Google+, Chat even SuperSU but CWM is working, when I click on them I get message "Application is NOT installed on your phone".
@Edit; I also have noticed folders and files almost everywhere named ".nomedia".
@Edit2; I forced close TWLauncher ( I googled it, said it'll work ) and it kinda fixed but I'm missing YouTube, Samsung Apps, Google Store/Play, Google+, Chat and SuperSU.
I tried to reboot it but nothing happened.
Please answer me fast, thanks in advance.

i suggest you go to recovery mode and wipe caches and fix permissions
you could also back your stuff up with titanium back up pro and flash a rom of you choice. You'll get a clean start cause you don't know what the previous owner did with your device.

[Q] Apps closeds

Hello guys, i'm on the stock 4.1.2 rom of my galaxy and i'm currently using it by many days and now the apps on my galaxy just start to close without any reason, i have 3 gb of free internal memory and the cache looks good.
Sometimes when i'm listening to music in all types of player availble on play store or the stock player and start to browse on internet the player just stop. When i try to see the messages the app close when i open it, and i need to try three times to can see my messages.
Is anyone know how i can solve this ? I really don't want to install again a new fresh rom, but if there's not a solution i'll need. Thanks.

[Q] Samsung music force close causing Google play music to not work?

I removed some Samsung bloat but I'm not sure what may have caused this problem. Any ideas on what apps are tied to Google music?
I initially removed Samsung Music, thinking it wouldn't be tied to google music at all, but apparently it is...I restored it, but it's force closing and subsequently, so is google music.
Also I accidentally deleted Samsung push service com.sec.spp.push. Hopefully that's not important.
Am I looking at a soft wipe or something to get music working again?

I never got an answer on this, so I'm downloading the No Wipe restore. From there I hope I'll be ok. Any last minute warnings?
Do you have a nandroid backup? Just reboot in to recovery and install the nandroid backup and you will get back all the apps that you deleted.
A wipe would be in order. Never delete system software. You will not get OTA updates. Use Titanium Backup to freeze such bloatware and you will be safe.
