Try wiping your cache/dalvik cache and reflashing..I heard that helps when flashing new roms.
i have same issue...
after unlocking the bootloader...and flashing custom ROMs...
Re-wipe & Re-flash...still cant avoid activation...i tried it for many times!
seems that my photon will stay in Stock ROM...
Try this:
Remove or rename these files with Root explorer (you should already be rooted):
SprintOMADMConnMOPlugin.apk
SprintOMADMConnMoPlugin.odex
They are located in /system/app/ folder.

Another android n00b here and I had the same issue trying to flash my photon for the first time, thanks for the info MultiDev, didn't fix the issue for me (as I cldn't get into the phones OS to remove the files in root explorer, it cycles network service and doesnt let you do anything else) however you put me on the right track so much appreciated! What I did (**do this at your own risk**)
Unzip the Alien-1.zip
Remove the 'SprintOMADMConnMoPlugin.apk' file from the /system/app/ folder
Rezip the files back into Alien-1.zip and re-copy to the sdcard
Clear caches and re-apply the rom
Hope this helps someone else as I was pulling my hair out b4 i stumbled on this thread...

[Q] Youtube stops playing if screen off

Hi!
I jzt wanted to know if someone could help me with one feature that these new firmwares have. Once I turn off the screen, youtube stops playing. I really liked before that I could turn the screen off and still listen youtube in the earlier versions. I dunno if the playback gets cut off because of the new firmware or if it's a new feature in newer youtube apps, but's I'd really like to be able to listen youtube while the screen is off. Any tips? Thnx!
First off yourll have to say if your rooted or not or on a custom ROM or not.To me it sounds like your on a stock unrooted Firmware.Im rooted on Omega ROM with a youtube App that has a download feature.I can watch videaos of any lenght and the screen doesnt turn off. Also if I turn the screen off myself I can still listen to the video thats playing.
I'm on darkyrom LA4 base. Also tried resurrection rom with ICS a while back with the same result. Might hafta try something else then...

The youtube app in Omega rom is great. It is how a youtube app should be.
sent from my fingers to your face.
I believe its down to how the YouTube app is developed; No playback in background or when screen is off.
Tomorrow morning when Im not on my phone Ill upload the youtube apk from my rom.Youll need to pass it to the System/app folder with root explorer but Ill put up the instructions.Like i said at the moment Im on my phone so cant upload.
I know I said Id do it tomrrow but I cant sleep thinking about this bloody Youtube apk. so Ill do it now.Ill write a rundown just incase your not sure what to do.Coming from another ROM it probably wont install as an apk. so if it wont then do this and it will install for sure.Do it twice to make sure though
NEED:Root explorer set to RW
first backup your exsisting apk. just incase.
1.Open root explorer and select System then app and go to YouTube
2.Hold finger down on apk. untill you get a menu and select "copy"
3.Now navegate to InternalSD/data and select "paste". and your done.
Now pass the new YouTube apk. to internalSD/download
1.open root explorer go to int.SD/download and hold finger down on apk.
2.from the menu that appears select "copy"
3.Now navegate to System/app and select "paste"
4.You will be prompted to overwrite exsisting apk. so select yes and your done.
Do the second proccess twice to make sure its copied and you should now see it in the app draw. The reason both apks. go to different folders is because if you put one inside a folder where another already exsists it will overwrite so you could loose your backup or the new one.Im going to bed
Amazing, thank you so much! That apk is gonna follow me wherever I go. xD

Keep a copy on your PC too and pass it to all your ROMs so you have a good YouTube app on your phone at all times.

Hey thanks for the info, I followed youre steps but when I try to run Youtube now it gives me an error message "The application Youtube(process com.rolle.android.youtube) has stopped unexpectedly. Try Again."
Btw I couldn't find a Download folder in the InternalSD instead I had to navigate to InternalSD/sdcard/download. This is where your youtube.apk was stored. Could this possibly be the issue?

The YouTube apk. I put in the download folder in the internalSD so when I open root explorer I select sdcard/download and there it is.Basically you put it where you can find it(not on the externalSD) but I find this folder for me a good one to remember.Sometimes you need to do it twice in a row for it to work.If it doesnt then boot to recovery and fix permissions and wipe cache partition and see if that works. Also try androidkids way that he posted as it worked for him but Ive always done it as Ive posted. Also make sure that the YouTube app is the blue on that its meant to be.
EDIT:are you getting the message to overwrite exsisting app when you paste the new one?
Does anyone have a version of this for the latest version for youtube?
is there an updated version of this youtube which allows the screen to be off while still playing?

Installing stock asus keyboard app

Has anyone tried to reinstall the stock asus Keyboard app?
I know it's the "keyboard.apk".
I tried to install it via root explorer by moving it to /system/app then giving it all permissions and rebooting. But it still won't show up.
Any ideas?
The stock keyboard isn't inside Keyboard.apk; that only contains the shortcuts for the Asus dock keys. The Asus Keyboard is inside XT9IME.apk.
**Edit**
Never mind I found it on this old post. You need these files:
Needed for software keyboard:
XT9IME.apk
/system/lib/libjni_xt9input.so
/system/lib/libjni_xt9kcm.so
/system/usr/xt9
I yanked these out of the revolver rom and put them in place with root explorer.
Now I'm good to go. Thanks agentdr8.

I know this is an old post, but it's the only thread where I found someone was able to successfully install the Asus keyboard on a custom ROM. I have the files you listed, but I'm unable to copy them to the required folders. I tried with a regular file explorer as well as a root explorer. I am running CM10.1, rooted of course.

So I found another thread which included a file called asus_keyboard.zip which I simply needed to download and install from recovery mode, but after doing that when I select the Asus Keyboard I just keep getting the error message "Unfortunately Asus Keyboard has stopped". And it keeps popping up every 2 seconds until I disable it. Any ideas?
Here's where I found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542502&highlight=keyboard

[Q] Need the stock homescreen to update

So I replaced my RAZR Maxx's homescreen with the RAZR M one and I forgot to back it up. I have the stock files but the homescreen says it's .odex instead of an apk. Any help would be much appreciated because I don't feel like waiting for the fastboot files.
homescreen.apk
mas11-
Here is the original file from before the update.
For some reason I am unable to install this file and replace the RAZR M Homescreen.apk file. Whenever I try to do this I get the message "Install Failed"
Just curious what is the method to go back to the stock homescreen and remove the Circles theme so I can update the phone ???
Anybody have any ideas ?

Use a root file explorer to move the apk to /system/app, simply installing it won't fix anything.

I have even deleted the M homescreen.apk file and replaced it with the original file and then rebooted only to discover the phone stuck at the red eye and will not boot up. Then I have to wipe the data and start with a fresh phone which fails towards the end of the initial setup process. I am only able to do anything on the phone because the Play Store shows me updates are available for programs I have downloaded before.
Once I'm in the Play Store I can download ES File Explorer and then delete the original homescreen.apk file and replace it with the M homescreen.apk file and everything works perfectly.
Not sure how to go back to the stock launcher ???
I can however install the original Homeconfig.apk file without any problems.
Not sure what I am missing here ???

Ive encountered the same issue... but now my stock system doesn't reboot at all.. I hear the stock animation running but I get nothing.. my safesystem however works fine..and I can boot to my Eclipse Rom.. dunno what to do from here. lol
Hmmmm
It doesn't make any sense. It was my first time playing with a homescreen.apk file but I was under the impression that you could go back to the other one very easily. Guess that's not the case here.
I also deleted all the files installed for the RAZR M homescreen.
I even deleted all of the other .apk's first - Circles, Weather and removed the lib files and still no go.
Not sure what to do from here ???

[Q] edited platform.xml now all apps stopped

so to fix the kitkat issue with being unable to write to external sd card, i followed the tutorials that said to edit
/system/etc/permissions/platform.xml
and add media_rw grouip to WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
I used miexporer to browse to and edit the file
the first time i did it, it messed up bcause i copied pasted from a site that had double quotes where as all the other group definitions did not have double quotes.
upon rebooting, the phone would get stuck and crash. screen would go blank and all buttons would be come unresponsive.
i was finally able to get into the phone by unlocking the phone as soon as it came up.
unfortunately i get a bunch of messages saying "Unfortunatel gapps stopped" or "unfortunately <misc app name here> stopped". most of them were google apps.
to top it off, i later discover that the quotes got pasted as like "smart quotes" argh.
anyways, i was able to finally get miexplorer to edit the file and remove the offending entry and resave the file. my expectation was that the phone should have been back to it's original condition before i messed up, but all the apps are still crashing.
anybody have any ideas what is going on or what i can try?
Some of the guides i'd seen said that platform.xml should have permissions 644. I verified this but that hasn't seemed to do anything.
