Hide apps from recent apps? - AT&T LG Optimus G

So I'm using the Ubuntu Lockscreeen right now (it's awesome haha), but it shows Nova Launcher in my recent apps, and I accidently swipe it away all the time. Is it possible to hide an app (in this case, Nova Launcher) from the recent apps drawer?

hmmm...
Well you can download hide it pro, but that would hide the whole access to the app (since nova being a launcher I don't know how is it going to act) still can give it a try

Changing Icons In The App Drawer

I wanna know if there's an app that can allow me to change the displayed icon for apps in the app drawer, the same way ADW launcher EX, Launcher Pro and Go launcher EX allow you to change the icon of an app on your home screen, by just long pressing it to change it's icon.
I'm using ADW launcher EX, and i'm aware you can download themes and change the icons, but most of the time, they don't have half the icons for my apps and i have icon image files ready which i'd like to change the apps too.
I'm aware of this method, but i don't want to be playing with the apps themselves, just wondering if there's a simple app for changing the icons in the app drawer?

[Q] Apex Launcher - New/Old App Drawer

Running CM9 (coffeebeans 4/30 build with latest pershoot kernel) on wi-fi 10.1, using Apex Launcher Pro.
I really enjoyed the old app drawer that didn't eat up the entire screen. In the new update, the apps in the app drawer take up the whole screen (similar to Nova Launcher, very different from Trebuchet). This is annoying because I love tapping the left or right of the screen to fast-switch app drawer screens. Yes I know technically the feature is still there, but more often than not, I hit an app instead of making the screen change because the space is so small now (beefy thumb syndrome).
Anyone here know if there's an option to go back to the old app drawer look? I posted at the Apex forum, but that place is a ghost-town filled with pr0n

How can I remove shortcuts from the Android (non-desktop) launcher?

I disabled the default desktop launcher in Remix OS.
This gave me a traditional Android-style launcher.
I did this so I could have features like multiple desktops, swipe navigation, ability to use widgets, etc.
The problem is that I cannot remove shortcuts from this alternate launcher. I can only re-arrange them.
If I perform a long-press on a shortcut, the only option available is: "Uninstall".
This makes it impossible to organize my shortcuts.
Remix OS forces every app shortcut to stay on the desktop.
There's no way to remove useless shortcuts I don't need.
Is this by design? Can you all check your launchers and let me know?
I use Nova Launcher, works great for what you are trying to do.

Yes, it seems the two default Remix launchers are terribly limited.
So I don't understand why they block Nova Launcher (re: Third Party launchers not supported).
Thankfully, I figured out how to use "SD Maid" & got Nova Launcher to work.
I haven't experienced any glitches, and my launcher is now so beautiful & fully customizable.
So it makes me even more confused why Nova Launcher is blocked.

Favorite launcher (home screen)

What's your favorite launcher? Nova seems popular, and I use it, but my favorite one is total launcher currently full version unlocker is on sale for about a day.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.launcher2.key
It's not super user friendly because it's so customizable. Just an example with my screenshots you tap "net" it opens my web browser Firefox, but when I click on the flashlight now when I tap "net" chrome opens.
I've started using FastKey launcher and I'm loving it. Fastest launcher available right now.
I started using evie launcher. Replaced nova. Not as customizable, but very smooth. Low resources.
I like nova because gesture swipe screen up/down to open apps and notification. No need to tap app icon or swipe status bar, you can do it everywhere on the screen.
Is there any other lighter launcher than nova that have similar gesture?

Try FastKey, it's not pretty but it's brainless and crazy intuitive.
I tried fastkey, then i tried KISS launcher, KISS is better
I also use KISS launcher for a long time and satisfied with it

Yes, fastkey is the best launcher for people who have 100+ apps, I have 684 apps installed. But the dev of fastkey isn't active now.
I like Nova with swipe gesture.
- Swipe right to open Google (using google companion addon)
- Swipe down gesture everywhere at home screen to expand notification
- Open apps by swipping up
- and badges
- popup menu
KISS is the best for me

Same setup here and I've tried all the popular ones, but nothing comes close to Nova
Meh, I still think Nova is superior
Try lawnchair launcher it is customisable pixel launcher with blur option and supports icon pack ls and has swipe gestures
Been using Apex Launcher for ages. For me the key points are the ability to modify the grid on the home page and to be able to hide apps in the drawer. Would like to switch to a more modern launcher (and one that's actually maintained) but haven't found a suitable replacement yet. Tried Nova a couple of times but have always returned to Apex...
Nova all the way. I don't think I've ever used another launcher. And the weird part is I think most people prefer Nova for its gestures but I don't. For me, Nova's best selling point is convincing me that it isn't even there.
Sent from my Moto G5 Plus using XDA Labs
Nova is the best! I use it since my sony xperia S, bqck in 2012
Arc Premium Launcher
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I've used quite a few launchers before but now I have Meizu and I love their native interface so I stopped using another launcher
Keikai Launcher..
Search that in f-droid.org

Which launcher do you use guys?

Is there any cc9 launcher apk files for mi a3?
Nova launcher pro, everytime on every phone ? Swipe up gesture to turn screen off, swipe down to show notifications. Widgets can overlap and resize freely. Has app drawer. I am not aware of other launcher with these (and many more) features.

You lose pie/Android 10 recents with Nova though.
For Android 9 I use Hyperion launcher
For Android 10 I use paphonb quickstep port (or lawnchair v2 early Android 10 release which is pretty buggy but usable)

I wasn't even aware that recent menu has changed with Pie. Just tried it and to be honest, I prefer the Nova recent menu. But maybe I'll give a chance to and try some other launcher with system recent menu support.

You will also need quickswitch magisk module to enable the recents view on custom launchers that support it

Stock launcher is good enough for me i like it, i use to use pixel launcher in my old phone, i already have pixel launcher in mi a3 so no need for 3rd party launcher

Nova settings -> app drawer -> gestures -> swipe to open/close. You can remove app drawer icon then. It's pretty close to the stock launcher behavior. Or, Nova settings -> home screen -> new apps -> add icons to home screen. Then you don't need to use app drawer at all, all new app icons will be on your home screen after installation (you will need to add existing apps manually though).
Nova since 4ever.
Swipe up for drawer, drawer have one page and everything in folders, double tap to turn off, swipe down for notifications , counter clockwise for settings.

Still like I said above you will lose the Android 9/10 recents view on launchers that don't support it. Nova being one of them
I'm a huge fan of Nova. It's the best launcher for Android ever made. But recently I've switched to Hyperion. It's really awesome. I really like the blur effect a lot. Immersive mode, gestures, screen lock-everything is there. It's the second best launcher imo.
I'll probably switch back to Nova eventually.
Another launcher I really like is Lean launcher. Super lightweight, super snappy launcher with not many customization options. Has Google feed & screen lock with double tap though. Allows you to hide apps & change the icon for individual apps.

Just wondering, what's so good on stock recent apps menu? I use it only to switch between apps. The omnipresent Google search bar irritates me, can it be disabled?

Just how fluid it is being able to open the app drawer from the recents menu by just swiping up on the dock and the way it fits with the gestures of Android 10 now aswel it's just way better in my opinion. But it is completely up to the person and what they prefer themselves. I can't tell you it's the best coz each to their own.
Also thats pixel launcher that has Google search. Aosp quickstep launcher does not have Google search in dock

I see, thanks for the explanation. So you basically like features which I prefer not to be present. Nova launcher with "old" recent menu seems to be the better choice for me. Anyway, going to try Hyperion, it sounds nice I'll give a chance to the quickswitch Magisk module too, maybe it'll grow on me.
Mine is Niagara, best simplistic launcher, best one handed launcher ive ever used.

I suppose you mean recen apps, because recent in general is the same.
+1 for Niagara and Lines icon pack.

Ya and the way you can access the app drawer by simply swiping up on the dock. It just all fits seamlessly with the new gestures
