Omg you did not state your source of cwm and root/unroot. I know the root/unroot is by bin4ry and you used it without permission from him or link back to his thread. Same goes to recovery. Where are your sources? Unless you tell me you coded the stuff(not the script) yourself. Its against the XDA Rules you know.

I don't copy anyone, I just use the same method. I study his batch and I wrote another one simpler.

Worked on 6.1.1.B.1.89 after flashing B.1.10 kernel (didnt work with .89 kernel). Thanks a lot man, really simple and fast.

No sources or credits??? You should put your sources and credits unless you created your own RootTool and CWM. You also did not ask for permission to use his work. Its the same method but he discovered it so its HIS method.

I can't see why you're grambling about :
- he made his own batch, so did all those "yet another root script" using a known VULNERABILITY IN LINUX KERNEL, which is not to be claimed by someone from the android community.
- he produced a localized batch (Italian / English / German) => that's his work and his addition to the rooting script.
- he's trying to help, hence multiple people who couldn't sort their ways with other root scripts or couldn't handle downflashing their kernel / boot / reflashing a newer kernel
last of all, he's trying to LEARN, are you against LEARNING ? Who are you and where's your contribution except for those "burn the witch" grumpy posts of yours ?
This forum already has moderators, kthxbye.

Just to add on...
Rule 12. Using the work of others. If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you. Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums. As an addition, developers have the right to hold exclusivity over their work for as long as it is deemed necessary by the dev or freely share it. However, if the work is claimed as exclusive, it must remain as such. No selective sharing will be allowed (ie allowing certain people to use it and not others). Should the dev decide to start sharing the work with others, the work automatically becomes fair game for all to use. In regards to permissions, same rules remain for this but if permission was already given, unless there is a very valid reason, it cannot be revoked (same applies to major updates on the work). Under that same premise, permissions cannot be denied unless the work is exclusive or under severe circumstances. In plain English: If you want to keep your work exclusive, go for it. However, if you are going to share your work, do it fairly. These rules apply to all software posted on XDA (including but not limited to ROMs, RUUs, apps, games, kernels, themes, icons, etc) unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules. to Apps and Themes

This is called COURTESY, do I remind you about what OPEN SOURCE (licensing / contributers) is made of ? Unless stated otherwise the code he reused was under the sentence "feel free to modify, re-use, redistribute, etc..." feel free to PM me, I'll show you where. It wasn't under any appliance of the Gnu/GPL, tho putting this sentence in his release means you DO assign a licence, as for say, you don't state anything, then no ones able to do anything (not saying which licence = means you KEEP YOUR RIGHTS on it)
He also posted it in the wrong section. Its not general. Its development/apps and themes. Do you realise the rules he have broken? He don't have enought post for development so he posts here!

This is placid, I don't get your point, HE CAN'T post because of restrictions, so he SHOULDN'T post ? Like, you're not speaking japanese but you're in japan, you can't go to police ?
If he can't post but he's willing to share his work, does it hurt you ? no ! general sections for a lot of devices (P / U / SOLA / GO) well... DO YOU SEE similar sections for DEV ? "Xperia P, U, Sola, Go Developpement forums" ? SHOW ME ? and show me there's nothing else RELEASED under general.

[REF][11.05.12]New-Existing Thread TITLE/TAG Rules[new banner available]

I am no moderator but just want to share/implement this idea.
The following tags/titles are needed to be implemented in DEVELOPMENT area .
1.Thread rules for Rom developers
[ROM][ANDROID Ver.][DATE] <NAME OF ROM>[Version of your ROM]
•[ROM] indicating a ROM related thread
•[Android ver] Android version name ex: ICS or GB
•[DATE] must be in the [day.month.year] form. Example: [06.05.12]
•<NAME OF ROM> name of your rom
•[Version] is the version of YOUR ROM (not the android version)
ex : [ROM][ICS][6.5.2011]MIUI V4!| Working Camera & NEW FIXES ![v11.06]
NOTE: DO NOT MENTION NEO/NEO V IN THE TITLE cause we got separate sections for them , if the OP needs he can mention it in the first post of his thread .

NOTE : All the above tags/titles should be in capital letters only
If I've missed any let me know ill add it asap
If you have any questions about this new naming scheme, or concerns or questions in general, please do not hesitate to PM me or ask me in this thread.
This is all a work in progress, and if things need to be changed, we will change them as needed. Please bear with me as I try to sort this all out for the good of the forum.
This worked out well in other fourms so i request YOU the developers , modders , themers , & noobs to accept this proposal and help us in keeping the fourm organised and simple
THANK YOU EVERYONE
IN-THREAD Idea !!!
Before you read this idea i want to make sure you know that all the extra work for implementing this will be done by me . all you do is just paste it . Hope you like the idea
Currently this will take time to implement cause of my SEM Exams till may 15 , will start working asap after my exams start.
1. Screen-shots
All the screen-shots provided by the ROM developer will be modified to be simple and fast loading.
Example :
All the processing & editing will be done by me , so that the dev's feel no burden because of this idea.
Kernel developers your benchmark scores will also be processed this way .
Just wanted to implement this so that all NEO V rom threads are simple and attractive (minimalistic )
Image Details
TYPE : .PNG
DIMEN'S: 1024 x 342 pix
Compressed for faster loading , but will see that quality will not be compromised mostly.
2.Thread Title
If you feel the above idea to be too simple then heres something to make your thread more attractive
I will provide ROM/KERNEL related threads with a TITLE image which represents their ROM/KERNEL . 2-3 Best features which you think will highlight youur ROM/Kernel will also be shown in that IMAGE .
And Firstly the most active Kernel's/Rom's will get the TITLE IMAGES
EX: ICS kernels / ICS ROMS First .
finally i got one to show u as a example
1)
2)
seems like xda is compressing the images (image 1) when i upload it , so i am using an alternative DEV-HOST file sharing site to provide you with best quality images as in image 2
More services coming soon

Nice idea, will be easy to sort out everything
You forgot themes, here's a suggestion for themes
•[THEME] Indicating a Theme related thread
•[For which ROM] For which type of rom(like stock or aokp or cm or miui)
•<NAME OF THEME> name of your Theme
•[Version] Latest version of the theme
•[DATE] Last updated day, must be in the [day.month.year] form. Example: [06.05.12]

Indeed a good idea Vimjam
go ahead with this, but if the people learn how to search then they dont have to start a new thread in general, they can ask thier questions in General Chat at the general topic, or they can look in the sticky thread of mine, because i must report 2 a 3 times a day to close a thread to another thread, of double post or its already posted, i hope you understand me, if everyone post my general chat or sticky in thier sig (i mean recognized peeps like vimjam etc) we come a lot further and then everyone knows that
I really appriciate that.
but again mate... GOOD JOB
Edit: What about Contributors, any good ideas for us ??

[Video Guide] Xperia U --- How to unlock and Root

I had hidden it inside another thread, but figured it should be mentioned in the Q&A for all those that could use it.
For ICS (android 4.0+)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
For GB (android 2.3.7)
It will guide you step by step through the unlocking process and rooting the Xperia U
(same principles apply for P & S but no examples/kernels provided)
Credits (links)
Guide based on the information provided by DoomLord
The 1.564 kernel is made by DoomLord
The 3.184 kernel is made by KeiranFTW
More information about warranty: visit Sony Forum
For the noobs:
Root / Rooting = to lift the default protection of the Android OS and gives you access to all system files that are normally hidden from you
This enables extra functionality but also requires knowledge about the android system to know what is safe to do and what not.
- Simple root use: changing theme elements / new battery icons / individually controlling the LEDs

Nice!!
Is Their Any Solution To Root Without Unlocking Bootloader . I Know Their is One in XPERIA U Development Thread but Its Links Are Not Valid ..and moreover its for Xperia U .564 firmware but I Want it For The .184 ?...
That one was fake.. Might be possible when ICS comes.. But am not sure
Sent from my ST25i
Thanks! It actually helped me root my XPERIA U!
Followed the guide, my U lost the ability to change colors when viewing the themes (cosmic flow) although when viewing images it still works fine. Also started getting some lag. Any way to somehow fix these?

This is a known bug on the Xperia U. However to fix it, all you have to do is install the Light1.1.apk from the following thread (Credits to straciam).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823418
PS: I have not tested this app but I speculate that this will be the solution based on the comments in that thread. I would recommend you to read the thread first. If this helped, do thank me and the developer of the app
@nixx-X1: I would like to request you to incorporate a re-locking guide for Xperia U. I would've done it myself but seems like your video tutorial actually makes things simpler.

Will try to do that when I get home next week thanks. I now have a new issue lol. Recently tried out supercharged kernel by vito, prob is that when I press the power button the screen somewhat flickers before fading to black. It goes fuzzy like in a tv but only quickly. Tried turning off and on my phone but its still there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

To Un-root, all you need to do is Flash the stock ROM FTF. There are 2 threads in the Xperia U Development thread that has all the information of Download links to the FTF's ICS and GB. Just have a look. Just a quick guided video would be helpful.
---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:11 PM ----------
I am using the Supercharged Kernel too and I do not exactly know if it is a problem coz I believe it is the fade out effect. I never experienced any flicker of any sort. Could you please tell me what precisely is happening? BTW, what ROM are u using?
Thank's!

Its the fade out effect. Before I used the kernel the screen normally goes black, now the fade out effect has gray and white fuzzy things. I don't think I have tried to change my ROM yet.

These root guide is Pre-ICS so for ICS you'll have to use different kernels then provided here or use the Binary methode

PLEASE make sure to thank the developer for the dedication to his ROM
Please] do not clutter the Development thread with non development-related chatter
FAQ
Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A See THE Developer's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198480
Q How’s battery life?
A I see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest
Explaining the purpose of our Q&A/T threads for specific ROM's to posters.
"Hi dear followers of this ROM,
in this post I will explain the goal of this specific thread created for this ROM with the permission of the Developer of this specific ROM.
This is a statement made in the Q&A/T template thread:
"While our forum has slowly been morphing, the one area we would like to keep original is Development
The goal is to alleviate the OT banter that occurs within any rom. While the XDA forum continues to grow, we need to help users work within the guidelines created by XDA. Over the last couple of years the average rom being created, has become a free for all chat thread. There tends to be much infighting and mod/developer cleaning.
The idea of this template is to create a Questions and Answers for each rom. This is in no way asking for Development to be moved here, rather any and all conversation that is non Development related to your conjoined Q&A."
This means that non-development related posts, should be posted - with the permission of the Dev - in this thread. What are the most common Off Topic posts, that should be posted in this Q&A/T thread?
1. Battery life related posts
2. Will this app work with this ROM
3. SD Card related problems
4. How do I dowmload and install this ROM, etc, etc
Hope to have given you enough information,
kindest regards, Kuzibri
Troubleshooting
First things first.
\When posting issues, we need to know the basics,
1. What was the last rom you were on?
2. Are you S-ON or S-OFF?
3. What recovery are you using? 4EXT or CWM?
4. Is your boot loader Locked or unlocked?
5. Did you flash the firware update?
6. Did you check the MD5DUM when you downloaded the rom?
7. Did you experience an error when flashing?
8. Have you had issues on other roms?
9. have you thoroughly red the first few posts of the Development thread?
10. Have you flashed any rom before? Or is this your first time?
11. Did you wipe or superwipe?
12. Have you correctly formatted your SDCARD?
I will post links to the How to's here soon.
Great job on all the Q&A threads kuzibri!

Hey
I have a question,
I want to install the new rom (ones chavy will reveal it) but i want to format all my SD.
I connected my device to the computer and i saw a lot of files that was belong to applications that not install anymore. I think there is a lot of crap in my device and when the new rom will be release, i want to format all of it and install the rom.
What is the easiest way to do that?
I am asking the first question in this new thread. Applause! :victory:

In 4ext recovery, there is a format menu that you can select to format internal and external sdcards.
there are lots of tools to use in 4ext. If you need further help with formatting let me know.
Congrats for being the first post for questions. also I've still got some errors with the new version. Stupid robot voice again! but I should have it up any day now.
The aroma installer has a lot more options including superwipe and much more!
I worked on it all night!
It's even faster and smoother!
+1 for chevy but if your s-off I'd say run a ruu that's the most perfect way to clean your phone if it has errors the ruu will fix everything then flash the necessary things and you'll have a smooth experience

Thanks for the answers.
ravike - i don't know what is a ruu, lol, so i will stick with chevy's way. By the way, my device is indeed S-OFF (i bought it that way).
Chavy - i just saw that you publish the new (and the last ) rom, THANKS!
so, if i understend correctly, in order to format the phone and install the rom i need to:
1. make a backup and copy it to SD-CARD (on the external one)
2. go to 4ext recovery - to the "wipe/format" menu and select "format sdcard" (i didn't found "format internal and external sdcards")
3. after my device is formated, i will connect it to the computer and copy your new rom (is the rom that install right now will appear after the formatting? i know from the PC that if i format it, the windows will not appear).
4. Wipe
5. flash firmware
6. wipe
7. Flash rom
is it the correct order?
The PH85IMG.zip you flashed after s off that's the ruu lol... Run that it's more easier if you want to clean your device

I think my problem may be that I'm unable to change the HBOOT to 1.93.2222. I've tried all step, but no change. Does it matter that I'm on S-ON? I'm on ICS, of course, but for some reason, it's stuck on bootloop.
