handcent sms question - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have a galaxy s4. I have handcent sms installed on my phone. I still have the regular android messaging app on my phone also. I just have handcent set as the default. I was wondering if there was a way to do this:
if i were to delete a text message from handcent, is there a way for the text to not delete from the android messaging app? i wanna have my android app keep all texts & not delete any, even if i delete from the handcent app. Is this possible??

Message count in SMS/MMS app

Does anyone know how to get the number of messages to show next to the contact's name in the stock SMS/MMS app? Thanks in advance.

I do not see an option for it, which leads me to believe that you will have to use a 3rd party SMS app if you want that feature.
Hey! try usin go sms or handcent sms from the market!

I would defiantly give handcent a go its got some pretty good extras also like multicoloured notification LED light depending on event and also you can show a SMS when the screen is locked for quick reply.
Well that's the thing, I meant without a third-party app, like it is on stock Android. I've had Go SMS, but I prefer to have notification icons that actually match with the app, I guess.

There's a setting on both apps default and Go SMS
Go SMS settings > Important tips> Silent
Default Message> settings > scroll down Notifications uncheck it.
Does that work?
if NOT
on Go SMS
in settings and important notes there's a tip in there for if you have uninstalled ur default message.apk
So use titanium backup to free your default message app and do what it says on the go sms pro thing to auto retrieve messages.
Do that. it should work.
in the go sms help menu it tells you how to stop double notifications.

I'm assuming you're referring to NoLED, right?
This is the original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730692
and although I don't know a whole lot about the app (Never used it ) according to the OP
under point 3,
"...Any other 3rd party software (e.g. Whatsapp, Email app, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail) will need to be checked under Monitored Apps and will require granting Accessibility rights to NoLED"

[Q] Integrating Google Voice and MMS app?

I managed to get Google voice to work with the MMS app with the app GV integration, but it's really hit and miss. Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't, and it slows the device down. Is there a better way to combine GV and the MMS app? I have tried every texting app but none are as fast and simple as the stock MMS app. Any suggestions?

I'm also trying to get this figured out. I used the GV Integration app as well, however it doesn't work in Android 4.2.2, so it isn't an option anymore. Right now, I'm using Messaging + Google Voice, which is very similar to the stock app, however, it doesn't have that nice pop-up box like the stock one.
Well its working for me but I get no notifications in the stock sms app. I think it might be because the app is not in the actual /system/app folder. I would find out by moving it but I don't know where jackpot has the system apps installed to.

Well I found the parent app for sms and tried moving to system/app but I didn't know that everyone had this problem with 4.2.2. Right now I still use GV integration but since SMS gives no notifications, I just enable gv notifications to at least know I got a text and reply with the SMS app.
I have used that app before but the notifications and buttons in the app are horrible looking to me so I prefer not to use it.

[Q] Remove voicemail tab from stock messaging app?

Is there a way to remove the voicemail tab from the stock messaging app? I inadvertently hit it sometimes and the messaging app force closes. I use Google Voice for voicemail, so I'd like to remove this tab completely. Thanks!
nvm
Not without flashing some type of mod or custom rom. Or don't use the stock messaging app and you won't see it. I use ninja sms so I don't see it.
