Battery drain after unlocking w AT&T code - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Crazy problem: I used the AT&T unlock code to switch to Straight Talk SIM.
But by the time I had the phone charged up, and the APN setup, it worked great all around except the phone gets so hot, and the battery drains out in less than a hour some times,
What is causing this?

[Q] Atrix Battery Drain Issue

I have an Atrix 4G running Neutrino 2.9 EE, with a new battery I bought only a few weeks ago because I thought my old battery was dying. But I'm having the same problem with this one. I can't get it to charge past 70% or so, and the charge seems to drain very quickly, about 1% every 15-20 minutes. I checked the battery usage, and Phone Idle is taking up around 60-70%. I've got wifi off, the screen turns off after one minute, and the brightness on half. I'm really at a loss as to what's causing this, so any help would be great.

Try to use all battery till your phone turn off, when charging again go to recovery and clean battery stats, rebbot and charge to full battery, see if your bar go to %100, i install battery widget and have an option for motorola phones, enable that option, that help me a lot,
Good luck!!!:fingers-crossed:

Battery drain issues, it seems, are as varied as "My car is making a noise that goes like this: ____"
Do you have the battery calibration app off the market? A full charge is 4200 mV (or really close to that value), regardless of what percentage your phone is displaying.
If your phone is getting up above 4100 mV, then the battery is fine. You can trick the phone back into displaying a more accurate percentage for a while, but it's not permanent:
- Charge the phone as high as it will go
- Shut the thing off and pull the battery
- Plug in the phone, wait for the question-mark icon to appear
- Re-insert the battery, let it sit for a few minutes (10? 20? no magical number here)
- Turn the phone back on. Percentage should be a lot closer to 100%.
If you're getting a decent charge but the battery is genuinely draining quickly, well... all I can offer is my experience from this summer. My major symptoms were:
- Losing an entire charge in the course of 8-9 hours, but ONLY when wifi/mobile data were turned on
- *Extreme* phone lag when wifi/mobile data turned on. Every single app would force close. Not fun at all.
- Checked what's using the battery, and "Contacts" was responsible for ~5% of the charge.
After six weeks of debugging hell, wiping, reflashing stock, etc I found out my contacts were nonstop-syncing (and duplicating, and duplicating, like rabbit offspring) on one particular email account. Killed the email account, got a functional phone back. Battery life returned to normal. All that to say, one misbehaving app (even a stock misbehaving app) can trash the phone's performance.
If you can stand it, try returning to something completely stock and not restoring any of your apps/data for a few days.

Phone randomly turns off and battery is somewhat drained

I did some searches here on XDA and on Google, but not sure if it's the same problem as other people had.
My phone, Xperia Mini with CyanogenMod 10 nightly ROM, some times randomly shuts off, and wouldn't turn on until I remove and insert back the battery, after which I can see that it instantly drained quite a chunk of the battery.
The main suggestion is that the battery is bad, but this phone is a month old, so I would assume my battery should be fine.
I attached the battery graph.
You can also see that the mobile network signal keeps dropping off, but I have no idea if that's related. I can talk to people also when I supposedly don't have reception...
Thanks.

strange battery issue. drains completely and goes back to normal even w other roms

Hi I'm having a really weird issues with my e970. It runs fines and I've checked the battery status with the *#*# code which says health is good. I've tried two different roms and I end up with the issue. My phone charges fine then will I'm using it it completely turns off. No warnings or anything. I plug it in and it says zero percent. I checked it a minute later and it goes up to 20 percent. Even on twrp or from the charging screen I get random percentages. Is it the battery or something else?
Thanks

Oppo Realme 1 Battery and Sim card Issue?

Hello Friends i have 6Gb ram and 128 gb rom variant oppo real me 1 phone which purched in just 7 day ago.
I have a only one sim . so when i put sim in oppo realme 1 tray and start the phone. sim network is coming in and out problem . but when i remove thi sim to another phone there is no sim issue every time i connected with network. but in real me 1 strange behavior to sim detect on and after some detect off.
and i tried with both sim 1 and sim2 swapping. but couldn't find the problem.
And also i have to notice that my phone battery is draining fast because fully charged at 10 AM and light use of the phone battery go to 1 to 10% in just 5 hour. i also use power saving mode on but there is no effect on this?
If any one have solution then reply or i have to return my phone? give me advise.
Hey mate, have you tried setting network type to 2G to see if signal strength is stable? you can also try any other SIM if you have preferably of different service provider.
With respect to battery, I had issue of fast discharging i.e. around 25% overnight even when phone is idle. Issue actually started one night when I forgot to unplug the phone from charger and went off to sleep. Then I decided to do factory reset and now everything back to normal. With mix of medium to heavy usage, I get 1 full day of battery backup. you can also try to factory reset if not already.
My battery efficiency is very low
It has almost lost 10% in just 30 Min for light usage so I please request for an update for battery performance
OK Finally Testing More 3 Day.
My battery is Down within 5 Hour and sim network is coming and going
And answer is as per my use i requirement more then 12 to 13 hour. and i have diagnosed the problem is in my sim card. My sim card chip is crashed that's way i got network is coming and going. so i think battery is use in this manner to searching sim and battery is drains more. and also sim 2 is not inserted but in setting sim is on that why my battery is discharge fast.
But when i inserted new sim in both slot guess what my problem is gone and i have use my phone more then 24 hour and battery still remaining 20%
So is that not problem in battery.
So Phone is completely working.

Question Battery draining

Hi, guys! I need help with my battery, which is getting quickly drained overnight. I'm giving some context.
The first night with the phone, I went to sleep and it had a 100% battery and I woke up in the morning to a 98% charge. I haven't inserted my SIM at this moment, since I still needed some stuff from my older phone.
Yesterday, I migrated everything and put the SIM in the new phone. Last night, the phone went from 50% to literally 0% overnight.
Since I had a battery issue with my previous phone, I went straight and installed a bunch of battery monitor apps on the new one. And I found out that the phone isn't getting into Deep Sleep mode, because of a Wakelock called RMNET_SHS. And I can't find what is it related to.
On the previous one, it was something like NETWORK_SCAN, and it turned out it was related to the network being set up to scan for 5G, which we don't have in Argentina, it kept the phone awake and drained the battery.
But now, I'm out of my mind. I'm just trying the draining for an hour without the SIM into the phone to check.
I did the test for an hour and the phone went to Deep Sleep for 85% of the off-screen time. The Wakelock was not shown on the reports.
