Bricked While Trying to Upgrade FW with Flasher Tool - Sony Tablet S

Hi everyone,
I just rooted my Tablet S and tried to upgrade FW 4.0.3 to 4.1.1 with S.ony Tablet S [Flasher] tool. But something went wrong and I stucked at Sony Boot Logo. I can't open tablet and completely can't do anything with it. I tried to flash some update files from recovery which i found from XDA. But nothing worked. It's just said can't desklunvr installation aborted.
And I have to add that Every OTA file that i download from here is giving some error with WinRAR. Says something about damaged or unkown file type.
I have to solve this problem. Please help me :crying:

The files are not damaged or broken, they are encrypted. Do not try to unzip them. They are to be used as is.

To find the URL for downloading the OTA update file you need, go to stifilz's OTA UPDATE LINKS post.

[Q] My xts is stuck in boot animation

Hello, I need help, I root my xts with Jelly bean and perfect, but change the framework for the tablet xperia z is reset my tablet alone and stayed stuck in the boot animation then goes with power + vol-and just does not pass the boot animation and enter the stock recovery and gave to reset to factory settings and still not working, please I can do
Thanks in advance
sorry for my bad English
what still not working? the Recovery Menu or Factory Reset?
---------- Post added at 06:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:17 PM ----------
when you have root you must push per ADB the right framework... when the tablet in Bootloop - your tablet is detected during the boot loops via ADB?
Aha, glad (not really) that I wasn't the only one that wishing to make XTS more like XTZ got stuck on animation boot. I wiped the data and nothing happened, still stuck. I can enter recovery and the my PC recognizes ADB when I'm in recovery mode but I can't initiate adb shell. Here is my recovery log.

Oh no There's nothing I can do? It's so easy on Sony mobile phones by simply using PC Companion.
You need to be VERY careful when modifying the framework. You can't just replace it.
This is why some companies purposely block root solutions.
I know but I thought it would do any harm to try the bootanimation file. I did it no my X10 mini pro and the only thing I got was a black screen during the bootanimation and then it booted normally. I just don't get why it didn't happen on XTS. Isn't there a way or a file I can flash that downgrades the version so I can flash the last official JB firmware once again? If it doesn't allow to re-install the same firmware how does the factory reset (on the settings menu) works?
I had no issue with replacing to boot animation.
Did you set the correct permission?
Always ask if your not sure.

Either wait for a new update, shouldn't be far as they had lots in a row for XTS on ICS. Or take it in for a warranty claim and say that it did not boot after installing the latest update

Alright stifilz, will do. Really hope they release an update soon since it's already passed almost a month since JB update. Thanks for all the help :highfive:

Is this to me? I can't do nothing on adb apart from pushing the recovery.log. PC only recognizes the XTS as adb when I enter recovery (when stock on sony screen it is recognized as MTP device) and it doesn't let me push nothing from the tablet If you have more sugestions please feel free to share them
By "doesn't let me push" what do you means? What error message do you get?
You first need to give ADB su permissions.
So in recovery mode you will reach no SU rights - I just tried it out ... there is an "error: closed" .... hmm very bad - Unfortunately you can not update too - the solution would, however, from the 4.1.1. update-zip adapt the version in this Vendor0 and Vendor1 and would buildprob higher ... but since you would have to ask Condi times if you could modify the - in retrospect, one could adapt yes again .. that would be a solution

Yep, it's exactly this. I just get this "error: closed", grrr. And where is Condi? Is he on honeymoon still?
If you would have done a ruscue backdoor with condis tool would you still be screwed or would have that saved you?
Where is Condi? Does anyone know? I'm thinking... isn't there a way someone can create a flashable file that automatically changes the bootanimation.zip for the original/right one since that is what causes my tablet not to boot properly?

Condi is back, fixing everyone's Tablets. As bootloader is locked there is noway to create a zip as we CAN NOT sign them, only SONY can do that. You will have to wait for a new release for your tablet to install that. Rescue back-door should be installed before changing system files. This is why Sony patches root exploits.
Option 2 take it in for a warranty claim, say the new update messed up your tab, chances are they won't look for tamper. Well they didn't with me anyway.

Can you please try to install any firmware twice and pull the recovery log.. As for drivers that is a windows8 issue. It can work but is a pain in the butt. I reverted back to win7 because of crap like that. Anyway if you can get us a recovery.log that would be helpfull. See my sig link for FAQ and that will tell you how to set up adb and pull the file. Also try the r5a driver (see faq for link) don't forget to disable driver verification.
Best of luck.

adb pull /tmp/recovery.log
You will need the drivers to work properly on you pc first.
If you are not sure how to use adb then read the top of my FAQ or google.
Thanks

Ok by the looks of it. It first fails as the US incremental 036 is lower than your previous region 084? Then it tries the other partition and fails because vendor is messed up. If you receive an new update you can flash. Try something higher than 084 but it will prob fail due to region SKU check

No way out , there's lots ppl can't crack include me .
i think it works if there is a way to re zip the files decrypted by desklunvr.exe..
WHY HAS NO ONE MADE MORE DETAILED DOCUMENTATION???
Why is there nothing out there that says IF YOU HAVE MODEL NUMBER XXXXXXX then use this: .....
If you have MODEL NUMBER YYYYYY then use this: ....
How simple would that be, and would obviously PREVENT people from BRICKING their Tablet S devices!!!
I don't get why this forum is so disorganised, and why topic titles are so obscure!?!?!?!
So much wasted energy going around in circles looking for information.
Why aren't all these BRICK topics MERGED and concatenated to make life easier for EVERYONE?!?!?

If you have MODEL NUMBER YYYYYY then use this: ....
How simple would that be, and would obviously PREVENT people from BRICKING their Tablet S devices!!!
I don't get why this forum is so disorganised, and why topic titles are so obscure!?!?!?!
So much wasted energy going around in circles looking for information.
Why aren't all these BRICK topics MERGED and concatenated to make life easier for EVERYONE?!?!?

Did you read the Q&A???
Q. Arrrgh I think I am bricked!
A. Ok firstly calm down and DO NOT factory reset if you haven't already. Next try the step above (installing zip) twice in a row, any zip will do and then use the command adb pull /tmp/recovery.log
Once the file is pulled please rename it from .log to .txt and create a new thread and add attach the file to it and don't forget to tag me "@stifilz" so I see it.
@stifilz
I followed the steps as discribed in Q&A.
below the steps :
1 - I started my tablet on the recovery mode
2- I copied the signed-nbx03_001-ota-120914044 file to SD card
3- i have installed the file from SD card but I got the error message "Installtion aborted"
Please find attached the screenshot of installtion and the recovery file.
thanks in advance for your help
