[Q] How do you DEODEX a system dump? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been looking all over xda and various websites for guides on how to do this.
I know how to do it with standard ROMs using the android kitchen. Recently the new Motorola X system dump has been leaked and I got my hands on it... I want to start pulling features and making my own ROM based off AOSP or PAC source.
If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

You can do this by running the backup through a kitchen. Be warned though that installing on a different device will require some work and you should really take the time to understand exactly what you are doing before attempting this.

[Q] How to update from 4.0 to 4.1 via img

Our phone karbonn a9+ has some leaked update files. How can we update it from ICS to Jelly Bean by using boot.img, system.img and recovery.img? They say jellybean had different partitions and you can't just flash it. So how? It would be really great if someone could help.

Changing first boot image

I want to change the first image (not boot animation) , you know, the image where gt-s5830i comes.
Is it possible?

Did you mean the Splash screen that says "GT-S5830I Ace"... if yes, then no, but the second one is possible

It's possible. Decpmpile boot.img using dsixda kitchen there you'll see logo.rle inside rmdisk folder.
Use championswmimmer kitchen to edit that rle and convert it to png and edit according to your wish then re-convert it back and repack boot.img using kitchen.
That's normally how it's done.
