[Q] Kernel AllianceRom 9.0 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask/know if with that rom, i can use Apolo or Hirox Kernel and, if not, If there are other kernel optimized for battery that I can use with that rom, thanks.

Yes, you can. It's Samsung based, so both kernels will work.

Very very thanks! I'm sorry for this noob question, but i'm new about modding, so I still found some trouble.

I thought you were saying you've found some trouble with flashing the kernel. But okay, if it all works for you, that's good

You can use:Apolo Kernel,Hirox kernel,DorimanX 8.xx kernel.Don't use 9.xx.This is for AOSP/CM.Use apolo kernel. This is the best for performance and battery.

Revolution kernel.

We can all name the available kernels, but the fact that there are so many opinions shows that everybody got his/her own preferences.
The OP already got his answer. If he/she wants to try different kernels, he/she can choose after trying them.

First search and read before you post. Then you would know there aren't any other kernels than Philz at the moment for roms based on the JB-leak. That it's your first thread isn't an excuse, because you can read English

Stock ROM is STILL the stablest and WILL be still the stablest.
If you search for the best ROM, there is NO best ROM.
I ask this because I have other devices and in other devices there are plenty of stable and fully functional custom roms.....
Also, I do a little bit of moding on roms, specially on MIUI, therefore I don't understand what is your surprise when people ask a question such as this....

Yes, I just said Stock ROM is/will be the stablest ROM for our device.

Ynt: GT-S5839i
There is not so much open source drivers for our device especially hw gl drivers. Because of this the custom roms and the stock based roms cant be stable as the stock one. If broadcom releases the drivers bieltv waiting for, may be the cm 7 will be the first faster and stable rom that we were waiting so long...
S5830i Stock + Root + init.d + Ligtning script + Link2SD
ok thanks a lot.
Its a pitty.
Also, 2 questions:
A) is there a way of making bluetooth always discoverable and end the time limit?
This is a pain specially pairing it with my car systems. Should be straight forward.
B) can we change the battery icon to percentage within stock settings?
I can't find anywhere.
UOT kitchen is down for so long and I can't cook a battery icon.
2 stupid limitations from stock roms....
Thanks

If your ROM is deodexed, then yes
How do I confirm off its or not?
It's stock

Create new custom rom.

Hi there.
Can someone link a custom clean rom that has root acess the version 4.2.2. I think I will be capable to build a custom rom from there.

Is there any clean ROM?
I need this to create my own
What he's saying is that if you were capable of building you should be able to search.
(Also you should know what to get in order to start your ROM adventure).

Quick tip before flashing AOSP

Hey, just want to give out a quick warning to everyone coming from stock to AOSP builds starting today
Before downloading a ROM make sure you decrypt your phone if you have it encrypted, as an example let's say the external SD is encrypted and you go from stock to AOSP without decrypting your external SD you will not be able to access those files and will be unusable unless you decrypt on the stock setup you encrypted on or wipe the card completely removing the files
This may be common sense to some but I'm sure not everyone will think twice when they see an AOSP thread

Do you have a link?
I don't have a link, i was just wondering if i could Bump it on the new site and flash it.
If that even is possible, which order would i do it? Flash a ROM first or flash the Kernel first?

I'm not a dev but in pretty sure the kernel would have to be made for the G3 in the first place, just going and bumping a kernel I'm not sure is what you want to do.
Ok cool I guess me and you and many others will just have to wait until AOSP or CM makes a bump'd version
Thanks for the help today
How do we "decrypt" our phone? Been flashing custom ROMs for years and this is the first I'm hearing of this.

Ditto. I know its being added to Lollipop so I assume thats how it gets encrypted in the first place. Id be OK disabling encryption if that is even an option.

Decrypting is only needed if you encrypted your phone in the first place, this is just a reminder to those people
Yes, Lollipop will come with encryption on my default

Really kid, are YOU REALLY serious, I'm new, have somewhat of an idea of what I'm doing, and the last thing I need right now is your ****, so all you need to do is shut the **** up and leave this thread alone. You honestly just wasted 2 minutes of your life you'll never get back. I asked one simple ass question that I bet could be answered in a few words, and "are you serious" are not the words I'm talking about.
