[Q] Ringtone sound real low after lock up and reset - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I am running Cyanogenmod 10.2 current nightly.
I was talking in my car on bluetooth and the phone locked up.
I pulled the battery and it reset and all that came up was the galaxy s4 logo.
I did a second battery pull and it loaded correctly, but sound from the speaker when a ringtone/notification goes off is very low.
Is there any way to fix this.
I have since done two nightly upgrades since this started and it did not fix the problem..

[Q] Not able to hear boot sound

Hi,
Today i noticed a weired issue with my SGS2.
i rebooted my phone, but i didnt heard any boot sound from the phone...so i thought may be i missed it, so i rebooted again.....but no sound...no issues apart from this issue....
any one knows what happend / why it happend?
Check to see if it's on silent or if your system volume is turned down. The system volume directly controls the bootup sound, although on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 it doesn't seem to. I'm still trying to figure out that issue myself.
Gr8. There you go boss.....my system volume was 0. I changed that and rebooted...now I hear sound. Thanks

[Q] How to fix? No Volume from top speaker suddenly

Today when I picked up a phone call, I heard no voice at all. The speaker located at the top portion of the phone (the one right beside your ear when you speak to someone on the phone)
I can hear the other side fine if I plug in earphone or use my blue tooth headset.
The thing is I didn't install any apps or change any settings for the past month. It just stopped working all of sudden.
I tried the following.
- Flashed back to Factory Rom Then did a Factory reset.
(problem still there)
- Installed 3 different custom roms on the forum.
(none fixed the speaker problem)
Any suggestions or hints? Am I left with returning the phone to have it fixed at Samsung?

[Q] Rear Speaker Intermittently Stops Working

Hello, I am a new user here.
I have a strange problem with my Bolt where at times the rear speaker plays all streams (alarm, notification, ringtone, media, etc.) so quietly that I have to put my ear directly next to the speaker to hear anything. At random times the speaker decides to play at normal volume again. I do not really hear a crackling sound so it seems the speaker is not blown.
The issue occurred when I was using SynergyROM for Thunderbolt r264, but the issue still occurs when I do a nandroid restore to a ROM I flashed previously when the problem did not occur. I am now using CyanogenMod 7.1.1 for Thunderbolt and yes, I am rooted.
The headphone jack works fine, so I'm guessing it has nothing to do with the system volume control. However, the problem sometimes occurs as soon as I plug in my headphones and then unplug them.
Does anyone know what I can do besides taking my phone to Verizon (my carrier) or a phone repair shop to fix this?
I have this same problem. I would also like to know what the cause is. It is very annoying because most of the time, I cannot hear my phone ring.
I think this may have something to do with the system thinking that headphones are still plugged in. I am running a Theoryrom based off of CM7 and if I go into the CyanogenMod settings in the sound menu and check the boxes for notifications, ring tones, and alarms to always play on speaker, all of a sudden the speaker volume seems to have improved. Something you may try. If it happens again on mine (which it will) I will see if I can figure out what the problem is.
Nevermind, it went back to being quiet, and that doesn't seem to fix it. Must have been a fluke.
It seems like there is no indication of when it will happen. Is it a hardware issue or an issue with the Android system and plugging in a headset?
My initial guess would be that it is a hardware issue. I have tried flashing new and different ROMs ranging from Sense base DasBAMF roms to AOSP based liquid roms and the problem persists even after a flash, which to me would indicate that it is not an issue with the Android system.
The last time it came and went for me had nothing to do with plugging or unplgging a headset. I have no idea what is going on.
Ok, so my speaker came back this morning, and I did notice one potentially related thing when it happened. Just before it came back, the DSPManager application force closed. I wonder if something is wonky with that program. If you are still having issues, could you try to force close, uninstall, or freeze (using Titanium) the DSPManager application to see if your speaker volume comes back?
Update: Nope, not it. Must be hardware.
The strange part about this problem is that nothing wrong seems to be happening with the software when the sound comes back on. Also, I have to play music constantly in order for the sound to come back on. It doesn't seem like the speaker is blown out... there is no crackling sound. The sound is just really really quiet.
Alright, I finally decided to replace the speaker unit inside my phone because it would no longer go back to the original volume. It seems my hunch was right. The new speaker is working perfectly now.

[Q] Phone Volume Issue

Hi All,
I just newly use RAZR for 3 months. Everything is ok until few weeks ago my phone volume suddenly became very low.
During receiving phone call I can't hear anything, I have to activate phone speaker to get caller sound.
This issue not exist if I used headset.
I checked all sound setting and everything seems set normally.
Currently I used MUIU 2.9.29, from previously i used 2.7.10
I dunno if custom rom is causing this issue.
Please share if you have any resolution for this issue.
Regards,

[Q] S3 - I9300 speaker not working

I've had a very strange issue crop up yesterday. My external speaker (the one on the back of the phone) volume has suddenly become very very low, you have to hold it to your ear to hear anything. The headphones and all are working fine
OS: CM11 M8 - been using this for over a week now
Stuff I've tried
1. I don't think I installed any app or made any update that would make the speaker behave this way.
2. I've checked the volume panel and all are at full. I've tried using multiple music players/alarms etc to see if it works and the volume is extremely low in all of them.
3. I've tried rebooting the phone.
Please help
Edit: a couple of forums say that it might be due to the headphone jack not recognizing that headphones have been removed. Seems possible since my speaker is not crackling/buzzing and gives clear sound but at a very very low volume level. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Help ... tried cleaning the headphone jack, removing the battery and restarting the phone. Not willing to do a factory reset if it's a hardware fault
What do you suggest ?
Got it solved, and in a very strange way
Restored my orignal 4.0 rom with twrp image. That suddenly caused all my speakers to start working. Moved back to the CM image and everything still works fine
Weird but true, mods can you add solved to the title
