L9, what do you think? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hello!
1) What do you think of this mobile phone, LG P760 L9?
2) Major defects?
3) A L9 used, but in good condition, how much would you pay?
Thanks!

L9 is a great phone for its price.
No major defects.
It runs jellybean with no lag 4.1 officially and you can upgrade it to CM 10.2 for even better performance.
I'd pay $180-$220 for used p760 in good condition considering you can get a new one for $240.

First of all, thanks for the reply. I will look also other comments.
For you, who are satisfied with your cell phone, four questions:
1) It is too big? 13x7cm. How do you get with this?
2) The absence of light sensor. It is so important in this phone?
3) There is an LED for notifications?
4) 4.1 OFFICIAL? And 4.3 with a custom rom? Have I understood correctly?

1. My hands aren't that big and the phone fits perfectly in my hand and I can use the phone comfortably with one hand.
2. Light sensor doesn't matter at all in my opinion. Especially with CM, where you could adjust the brightness from the status bar, which you can easily do even when its too bright outside to see your screen. The stock rom also has a brightness slider in the notification drawer. You probably won't even notice its gone.
3. No, there is no LED, although there is am app you can use to make the back and menu lights into LED notification lights.
4. Yes 4.1 is official and the only bug for CM 10.2 is that the camera only records 720p instead of 1080p.

You're welcome. Rooting and unlocking the boot loader for the P760 is very easy, you could probably do it in 10 minutes.
Edit: forgot to mention this, the p760 is officially supported by CM and PA which is a huge plus.

Whats the difference?

Im thinking about getting the optimus l9 p769, but I was looking at the threads, and i noticed 2 android development forums and one has roms and the other doesnt, so whats the difference?
And will those roms all work on the p769?
Thanks, sincerely
first, I'm not really sure of the difference myself, so I won't comment on that. but NONE of the roms work for the p769. Let me repeat that just in case I wasn't clear. NONE OF THE CURRENT ROMS WORK FOR THE P769!!! this is partially because of the difference in hardware, and partially because the p769 doesn't have an unlocked bootloader like the other versions.

well then what do i do? if i unlock the bootloader will that fix it?
I'll answer that question, no, because nobody can unlock the bootloader. there.
P.S. my brother borrows my account periodically, this was my brothers question.
nope, you just have to wait. when we get an official release of jelly bean, we'll get the ability to unlock our bootloader, and the people that have this phone will be able to develop roms for it.
The P769 will be [naturally] unlockable once T-Mobile approves its Jelly Bean update and it gets out in the air. There is a roundabout method available for unlocking the bootloader for the impatient/tech savvy as well as a CyanogenMod 10.1 unofficial P769 build, but I'd recommend waiting.
Is the jelly bean update definitely on the way?

It runs pretty well. My only real problem is that the clock seems to to not sync correctly. I had to set my time myself because when I set it to Central Time (I'm in Chicago so) but gives me a time 5 hours in advanced. Also no Apps2sd is tough. Hopefully this will be turned on soon. Otherwise I'm not having any problems with it. Battery drains a little quicker then normal but I can't complain.

I also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. It has a working CM11 ( KitKat ) port. Users were experiencing install issues at first. Recovery ended up being the problem. Updated to newest recovery, CWM 6.0.4.4, and installed fine. 4.4 implements some things not supported by previous versions. As of this post, CWM is the only recovery capable of installing 4.4 roms

Good news! Unfortunately only are for L II, Lx
sorry for my bad English! xD
It's two sided. Because of our OMAP chipset, we shouldn't get 4.4 update, but look on the bright side - l9 is the strongest of L series, so why shouldn't we get that update? I mean, what policy LG is using if we won't? Even freaking L3 is getting the update, the oldest L series phone, but L9 no? Cmon

I don't see why you're so against LG - how 'bout a brand new Nexus 5? It's great, just like OG, OG2 - there is nothing strange if not a flagship doesn't get an update to the latest firmware. It's not about LG, it's about all non-flagship phones - all of them get either customs or nothing after a year of support and our L9 got quite a good number of updates!
Because every lg I've ever owned has been thrown at one point or another.
Their habit of locking them down like fort Knox is bs and I'm really sick of being driven nuts every time I get one.

[ROM] AOSP 4.4.4-R2 Geeb [19/08/2014]

Just put this together for myself and decided to share.
Its 100% pure aosp so there isn't much for me to support.
Forgot to mention when I first posted, pre-rooted and busybox pre-installed.
It is set up for Canadian geeb which has green led.
For AT&T you could try xposed and gravity box and set the notification color from there.
Latest build doesn't use touchboost and you should see some battery improvement. Also removed stock aosp recovery from install.

Thanks! Your AOSP 4.4.2 was my first ROM with the geeb, I thought the old thread got bumped until I realized the date and version. I love all the bells and whistles of CM based ROMs, but AOSP + Gravity Box is a pretty good combo.

LS970 over here. Unified Gee ROMs work for both LS970 and E975, but not specific E975 builds. Kinda weird how it all works, lol. But it sounds like I should he fine, right?

For AT&T you could try xposed and gravity box and set the notification color from there.

No need to worry about AT&T LED colors. We only have a choice of red, red, and red.

Well, I took the plunge and flashed the ROM. It booted up, but as expected, data was a no go. Tried every trick that I know to get it working, but nothing worked. Still though, the ROM was amazing and smooth

I'll see if I can find out the difference for ls970.
They are CDMA and not GSM right?
Maybe as simple as a build.prop edit network??

Yes, we are CDMA. One of our first KK ROMs was actually an AOSP geeb port, exactly like this ROM (but older), and it worked. So its definitely possible!

[Q] Haptic Feedback

Does anyone know if the Nexus 9 will have a haptic vibration motor? The lack of one is one of the reasons I never considered getting either of the Nexus 7 models.
Hmm I wonder that too
I've yet to see a tablet use this, so no

Thanks… I have been enjoying crap for almost a year. Build quality is better than the Nexus 9 and I enjoy having 128gb of storage for music and videos.

How can you tell if build qualify is better? You held it in your hand?
relax all... who cares about device comparisons; specs mean nothing when it come to user feel...
in regards to topic, i would say no haptic feedback and to be honest it doesnt really bother me whether it is included or not these days. I can never seem to even notice vibrations when my phone is ringing. Not like the old days where a nokia vibration would near on rattle your teeth out
I asked Paul O'Brien on Twitter, who has a source, and he said it....DOES!!!!
Someone else here in another thread that already has it, says it does have haptic feedback.
