I believe this to require more processing power than this phone has. I.E. the first phone to offer this was the S3 which was quad core, we have dual but must say when i had the S3 i never used it. The zoom has decent multitasking so i still don't see the need for multi window.

Retard alert* no kil43 galaxy note 2 had it. Was then made for s3 by DEVS. Not officially Samsunh. Multi window was on note 2 first.

NOTE 2 rom S3

Is is possible to flash a NOTE 2 rom in the galaxy S3?
NO
considering how long you have been on xda (longer than me) you shouldn't even ask this question.

Flash Note 2 ROMs on a Note 2 and SGS III ROMs on an SGS III.
People have been getting into trouble flashing ROMs made for the international Galaxy S III on their American/Canadian Galaxy S III's, so no, flashing a Note ROM on an SGS is going to be very painful and cause damage.

Yeah ofcourse its possible. Just that you might brick your device permanently and make it completely unusable.

Wow. What so special about note 2 rom? We have our own rom ffs.

Chuck Norris can even flash Note 2 ROMs to iPhones!
Yes it can be done but here is what you need:
Note 2 ROM
Odin (mobile Odin is fine)
USB jig
Samsung repair centre number
Bin bag to throw your phone in
plenty of tissues to wipe the tears
Hope that helps

i have just flashed nokia 808 software on my galaxy s3 and i got me
a 42mp camera... the 8mp sensor just vanished into thin air and pureview
replaced it... why was i even waiting... in the morning after playong with symbian
on my galaxy s3 i plan to install iOs6 to see what it's all about !?!?!
:silly:
K now this is going to be one funny thread to watch for replies
《swagged from aokp》
and i did it... i used super glue in recovery to merge the ios and android... this is frankenstein rom rc 0.9beta... i need testers and a counter to show me the number of devices i bricked... a dream come true !!!!
ps
i take no responsibility what so ever if your phone does not burn, melt and teleport to moon... you will succeed those stuff if you are really persistent in flashing imaginary rom a 100 times over and smacking your phone on the floor real hard...
no hard feeling.... i love to fool around :silly:

Chuck Norris knows how to unbrick bricked S3 so if you know that too,do it....
Yeah sure it can be done, if you want a mickey mouse phone that doesn't work. I'm sure their are loads of people willing to help you seen as though you're stupid enough to even ask

On a serious note, no pun intended. The feature i'd like ported to the S3 is the split screen multi-tasking. It should allow you to do more things at the same time. The problem for the S3 with this feature though is the 1GB of RAM, but the I9305 solves that.

Heres a vid of it in action.
Chuck Norris can, not only unbrick iPhone into concrete-not-brickable Galaxy S3 , but can symbianize Windows 7 into androidlike icecream sandwich with jelly beans inside covered with gingerbread crumbs.

[q] floating touch

guys is it possible to have floating touch on s3?

If you have not touched your phone completely and it has touched or done something else that is/has already been in step. Or being worked on....did on epic 4g so its heen an idea for awhile!

it's not a hardware feature on the galaxy SL, s2, galaxy3, galaxy s+, galaxy s1, but either way they managed enabling it by adjusting some values on the touch driver, i think it is possible that it can be done on the SGS3 too, i've been looking trough my phone to find the driver, it has to be in the SYS folder, if we find that it might be very possible that we can get floating touch working on the sgs3
I' d like bump this topic now..
We all know s4 came out with floating touch feature. so i was wondering if it is a hardware req or can it be ported to s3 ?? what are the restrictions ?
Can someone make it possible for s3?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Galaxy s4 has dedicated hardware which gives proper response where as in galaxy SL and other devices we are just increasing the touch sensitivity

No matter how, floating touch is still possible on s3
But I don't know if there are any adverse effects of increasing the touch sensitivity?

SBeam for files?

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but I'm wondering if SBeam can be used to transfer files?
I (GN2) was trying to send a pdf to my roommate (GS3) and we thought maybe SBeam would do it, but we could only get pics to transfer from the gallery.
Thanks.

I would like to know this as well. The only way I've seen is to use Wi-Fi Direct, but there was no progress bar so I didn't know of it was working or not.

You can't with Sbeam but you can via wifi direct....
You can transfer the Quarter 1 Earnings Report with Wi-fi direct.

It was S-beam. S-beam uses wifi direct. You can transfer files but only from specific apps (my guess is that it would have to be in Polaris to transfer pdfs since that's the only pdf viewer on stock).

Don't accept the OTA update and get yourself rooted and unlocked. I like gmd spen control and button savoir for use with the s pen.

Cleanroom Ace 405 works awesome
Also I changed my sd from local to SD card to gain more space
There is also a Samsung auto correct mod as well that I just did, works great

S4 Zoom + Galaxy Gear

My sister currently owns the S4 zoom and would like to use the Galaxy Gear with it but it is still running Android 4.2.2. I'm looking to root the Zoom to Android 4.3, preferably a slim rom, so that it can be compatible with the Galaxy Gear since Samsung has not released an official update or estimated time frame either. I've been researching how to root the Zoom as well as what roms are currently available and apparently support for the Zoom is very little.
Has anyone tried a rom that allows compatibility with the Zoom yet?
the s4 zoom is a phone with no market or future.
there are no developers to work on that phone.
I think it's a shame that the zoom has no future as it's a great device, albeit quite niche. Here's hoping that Samsung do eventually update to 4.3 so it will be compatible with the gear.

I agree it is quite a shame, I have the S4 and use the Gear and my sister really wants to use the Gear with her Zoom. I think the Zoom is a awesome device. It's designed for a very niche market and it seems like that market is being neglected. Samsung did mention when 4.3 was released that it would be coming to many of the Galaxy devices and the Zoom was included in that list, but there's no info on when to expect it.
With kitkat confirmed for the Zoom C105 does that mean Galaxy Gear will now work with the Zoom S4?
I see the latest firmware 4.2.2 has gear manager app on the system. Does this not work then?

i ordered the neo a few days ago so i hope it will work.
according to this:

What instructions did you follow? The ones from the Gear itself on the startup screen?
Did you connect via NFC and the phone automatically went to the Samsung app store to download Gear Manager??
Just followed the instructions in the gear booklet. Turn on nfc and blue tooth on your phone. Touch the gear cradle to the back of the phone and just followed the on screen instructions.
Just read the the booklet and all will be fine

Thanks for replying, I saw your post in the other thread too.
This sounds good, can't wait to get hold of the S4 zoom now... I just hope that I like the shape and feel of it!
If your into photography you'll love it. I had a note1 which seems massive compared now. But got used to the Zoom s4 very quickly. And with the gear, you don't have to keep pulling your phone out of your pocket to see what the alert was.

Great tip I was waiting patiently for 4.4 as I had no idea it would work on 4.2.2. Thanks a lot!
Doesn't seem to be much reason to upgrade the s4 zoom to the k zoom now the gear works with it.
