[SOLVED] Launcher with badges = NOVA Prime - Samsung Galaxy Mega

I am a fan of Touchwiz but am open to trying other launchers. The problem seems to be the badge system doesn't work fully on any of the ones I have looked at.
Do you know of a launcher which can show numeric bubbles for unread items on SMS, email, facebook etc?
Lots do SMS and Gmail but I need the email as well, I don't even use Gmail.
Suggest away

NovaLauncher + NovaPrime + TeslaUnread does gmail, htc email, samsung email and k-9 mail.

I am trying this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.droid27.transparentclockweather
Does a non TW launcher just offer more customisation?

Much more ...
Change desktop-scroll-effects to GLASS, looks great. Nice clock&weather widget: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devexpert.weather

I appreciate why people do this, but it is not for me.
If I can extract another hour of battery life I would do it, but just to make it look prettier, not for now.
If I can remove all the TW framework I might have another go

Jorte Calendar app

Has anyone else tried this calendar app for the note? I like it because it offers a similar calendar widget to to stock touchwiz widget for those of us on custom ROMS. Tried to insert screenshot, but says its no longer working.

I used it in the past, works really well. But, if you're looking for something closer to stock, you might want to check out CalWidget, that's what I use now. It links directly to your stock calendar and has a great mini-agenda. =)

Have been using Jorte since I lost the stock Calender and love it..The full page widget is my favourite! Black theme and adjustable transparency..I wouldn't. go back to stock if I could...
Did I mention its free?

Is there a way to make a widget persistent?

Is there any way to make a selective widget, like the DuckDuckGo widget, persistent in the place of the Google search widget? I ask this because the Google search widget that is persistent doesn't take up a complete grid like it would if I was to add the DuckDuckGo widget to every page at the top.
Adding the DuckDuckGo widget drops everything down much further, even with another grid space added on Nova, than just having the persistent widget does.
I saw with Lightning Laughed you could "pin" a widget in place and it is almost like using a persistent widget, in that it stays in the same place as you scroll through homescreens, but its still very very different. I have also seen Overlays but that is completely different as well.
So is there any way to modify Nova, and of the other launchers, or a ROM to use the DuckDuckGo widget as persistent instead of the Google search bar?

Agreed, would love to do this.
Any thoughts?

I've been researching for the past couple of days and the closest thing I have been able to find is Lightning Launcher. Sadly that isn't even close to what I'm wanting. I'm going to keep looking and see if I ever run across something, which looks doubtful at this point...

Apparently SS Launcher allows pinning as well, I am currently emailing the Dev and discussing persistent widgets but I don't have much hope because he doesn't seem to know what I am talking about or the differences.
I am going to start looking for a way to edit it but I'm not very hopeful I'll find a solution.

Not at all, the ssLauncher Dev has no idea what I a, talking about, he doesn't speak English as his first language so its extremely hard for me to explain things to him. I eventually gave up.
I've heard that the Dev responsible for Action Launcher adds just about anything his users ask for so I am going to email him later today and see if he can and would add that. Ive been trying to figure this out for quite a while and no one knows anything about it and the few that do, I've found 2 people who supposedly know, don't want to explain what edits need to be made.
I'll post back when I get dome talking with the Dev over Action Launcher!

I have contacted the Action Launcher developer and am awaiting response. I will post with updates as soon as I hear anything.

Nice. Action launcher is beast. I don't always use it but it's one sick launcher
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
why don't you use a launcher that allow for widget overlapping so you don't have to worry about grid size?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2 since the money I spent on XDA Premium is now wasted with the update
Try this http://goo.gl/WzjRK
Or a side bar with widgets like this http://goo.gl/ySNsZ
Good luck

What other apps have you downloaded to make your themer theme look nicer?

Allow me to clarify. Now that I've downloaded the, "KitKat concept," theme, I absolutely love just starring at my home screen and admiring it. But using stock apps that have the touchwiz feel from my galaxy s4, such as the stock messaging app, I feel like the two don't go together (see attachments to see what I mean). Going from a nice, clean, feel to a big, tacky app just doesn't feel right. I don't know though, it might just be me.
So my question is, did you guys just leave the stock apps be, or did you download a 3rd party messaging app, lock screen app, etc., to make your theme fit more?
Excuse my bad English by the way.

For the dialer I use rocketdial pro & for sms I use sliding messaging pro. both are themeable so they go with whatever theme I have on themer at the time. I bought both but they have free versions.

How do you have message with the white background?
The screen shot? That's the stock messaging app for the galaxy s4 and I believe all the other galaxy or touchwiz running devices as well

[Q] Good Calendar Widget?

The only thing holding me back from using Nova Launcher is losing the samsung calendar widget for a full month. Why is it so hard to find a decent month-long widget??
If anyone has some alternatives, I would greatly appreciate it
I use business calender. It doesn't show a month, but it's scrollable.
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk 4
Acalendar has daily, weekly and monthly widgets.
DigiCal
I had the same trouble, literally downloaded 5-10 different calender apps. I settled on DigiCal which is a paid app but I really like the widget. I found the app to be sup-par so I use the Samsung calender app to add events.

so far i've found simple calendar widget, by j4velin as one of the best Simple Calendar Widget for tablets and phones (such as my Note 10.1 2014 & note 2).
it uses little to no resources, has easy to configure options (multi-calendar, font size, layout, transparencies, refresh, etc.), and only adds one fully re-sizable icon to your list of available widgets.

Try business calendar app. It has great customizable widgets.

The granularity of reminders, alarms, etc beats all the rest.
It has pages and pages of widgets.

My two cents - APW is definitely great looking, but CalenGoo's customizability is above and beyond anything else I've tried.

Stock messaging app

Hey guy, am I losing any functionality or touchwiz integration if I use a third party messaging app over the stock one?

Nope...
If you have a Gear 2 or Gear S watch you won't be able to view or send sms from it.
Nah the only thing you're losing is stupid amounts of lag.. how this app can take a good few seconds to be usable is beyond a joke.
HelloSMS for me thanks.
Lol thanks guys, I haven't had a samsung since the s2, I just want to make sure..and no gear for so I'm good there.

What's the most customizable sms app, ive been tooling wth textra, liking chomp, tried qksms. Love being able to have different ringtones for different contacts, bubbles, etc. Ty for any input
Evolve is pretty good, lots of themes. Very clean look, fast, smooth.
I use evolvesms as well. The only thing I seem to have lost over the stock messaging app is MMS over wifi. I definitely loved that but I hate the stock messaging app more.
I stick to Hangouts. Simple and clean.
Not as many UI and ringtone features as other apps, but works well with my moto360 so can't complain.
Thanks all appreciate the advise

not that i use it...but you won't be able to open a quicck note, write a name, and use the recognition software to open message to send a text or call
Guys I need to plug my favourite SMS app ... one from an XDA dev @matt_stang
Smitten SMS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-stock-messaging-sliding-ui-extra-t2825144
I can't find fault with it.
