[Q] What lockscreen widget is this? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Rooted running various ROMs and this keeps popping up. I have my "home" lockscreen set to cLock. As soon as I get any type of notification, lock the phone then go to unlock it this one appears to the right of the home lockscreen. Wouldn't be so annoying, except for the fact that it shows up as if it were the home lockscreen and I have to swipe to the left to get to the real home lockscreen.
I've noticed this on Hyperdrive and BoneStock, so I know it's not a ROM issue. If I restart, it goes back to normal up until I get another notification. I can't edit or remove it. Driving me nuts...

If you expand the widget screen by swiping down on your widget, that's the "minimized" unlock challenge. With your cLock widget on screen, try swiping down on it, and you'll see the same thing at the bottom. If you swipe back up from it, the widget is back to normal, non-expanded size, and the challenge ring will come back to normal.
...at least that's what I'm seeing.

That doesn't look like cLock.

I should have clarified. That widget looks the same wether minimized or expanded. I know what you're saying though, the cLock widget just shows me time and weather and when I expand it I get my calendar. Whatever this widget is it shows nothing but the time and date regardless of expanded or minimized. It shouldn't bug me this badly, but it's seriously driving me crazy. I get my lockscreen setup with a cool widget and as soon as I get a text or email I get this tiny little thing that doesn't show anything useful.

Pretty sure that is the KeyguardWidget that would normally show if you had a new message or missed call or something. I would delete it and it will default to the default clock widget.

This can be achieved on a TW ROM by going to settings, lockscreen, widgets, clock size and choose small.

Nice, thanks

Just a quick update in case someone else is searching for a fix. Adjusting the lock screen widgets from settings did not work for me (on JellyBeans B6). Renaming KeyguardWidget.apk to KeyguardWidget.apk.old in /system/apps did work though. Thanks again for everyone's help!

Notifications on Widgetlocker lockscreen

i have galaxy s2 with 2.3.6.I want notifications to be seen on widgetlocker lockscreen but i can't.I just see them on status bar of the phone that is at the top.
Need your help
Open the WL settings by choosing WL from app drawer, then use settings capacitative button on phone. Go to "popups" & make sure you have untoggled "hide sms popups."
EDIT: Meant to say go to "settings/popups."

That won't solve his problem. All that does is place a WL icon on the notification bar. He wants popups, I think.

Hmm. I don't know. I would suggest using the "report bug" option in WL settings menu to email the dev. He has been very responsive to my problems in the past. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
Just looking @ my gosmspro settings and I see that I had to specifically enable popups. What notifications are you wanting that you are not getting?
Sent by Tapatalk from my rotary phone, using sparks.
I got the SGS2 yesterday as well and have the same issue. No popups when i get a Text.
I was hoping to get the Notifications Bar. I have the SGS 1 and in the widget lockscreen i can pull the Notifications Bar down but with the SGSII this is not the case at least not with a PIN. I like to have a PIN on the phone but still be able to do simple things like read text messages or change a song. The sense lockscreen can do this.
I don't get why samsung made there lockscreen so plane that if you enable PIN,Password/Pattern you can no longer side to go in to message or call log. Was hoping the Notifications Bar would be a good work around but no go
I'm a little confused, so does the S2 have popup notifications for sms? I never seen them just get them in the little status bar...
I am running UnNamed rom, and using WL. On the WL screen, I have placed a scrollable widget, "Call Log Scrollable," available on the Market. It works fine, updating on top of the WL screen. (You have to have scrollable widgets enabled, but you can do this with a launcher program like Launcher Pro, without having to root.) I also have no problem with SMS popups from my GoSMSpro text program. These are all easy to use, and may solve your problem. None of this requires root.

Thanks this is somewhat what i was looking for. I see it has a widget, I would love it add it to my lockscreen but its just to big. Is there some small only that does not have all the buttons similar to the iphone?
Also I see the popup, but if i don't do anything an the screen turns off and later turn on the screen the popup is gone yet when you unlock it it's on your homescreen this is kinda annoyng which is why i think a small widget just on the homescreen would be best or similar

You can resize any widget on WL by opening the WL app from the app drawer, which will bring up the WL screen. Long press on the widget and you will get a popup menu allowing you to resize it. Be sure you are setting the icons as "widgets" and not as "shortcuts."
Not sure what you mean by being able to see the popup. Isn't that what you wanted to begin with - to have an sms popup appear on the WL screen?
Here is a shot of my WL screen.
can try downloading sms unread count from the market. i use that for calls/sms notifications.

What happens is that when you have Go SMS Pro popups active, the popup will show up on top of WidgetLocker just fine.
However, if you are reading the popup on top of WidgetLocker, and the screen turns off in the middle of reading it, turning the screen back on (in order to read the rest of the text message) will cause the popup to disappear and to have WidgetLocker go back on top of the popup.
Then when you unlock WidgetLocker, the popup is on your homescreen. It gets to be quite annoying.
It seems that Widgetlocker allows the popup to be on top only once, but doesn't let it continue to be on top. I've emailed the dev of WidgetLocker regarding this issue but never heard a response.
Another quirk is when you read the Go SMS popup on top of WL, then try to touch "open" to open GoSMS, it doesn't open GoSMS but instead goes straight to the stock lockscreen (and not widgetlocker), at which point when you unlock it, it then goes to Go SMS.
You can modify the WL screen timeout to a different setting from the system screen timeout, using the WL settings menu.
As for me, I don't want someone to be able to access GoSMSPro w/out going thru my lockscreen. Personal preference, I guess.

a bit of necromancy, but I happen to have same problem as OP. got free version of NOVA launcher, and widget locker (phone is rooted, and root helper is enabled). still no missed call/messages notification on lock screen. I even downloaded Tesla Unread, activated through locker widget settings, and still no notifications.
I'd appreciate any advice!

stop notifications from lighting up screen?

notifications waking up the screen are killing me.. if my phones in my pocket and the screen wakes up, then every step i take, my thigh hits the screen and keeps it awake for hours till i check the phone or it dies first..
sometimes when i get certain notifications, such as low battery, it keeps the screen on indefinitely (ironicly battery warning is a huge battery killer lol..), so does charger connected/disconnected.
anyways there's my rant, my question is,
; has anybody come across a way to stop the screen from turning on when getting a notification? it already lights up, vibrates, has a smart reminder option, and a led indicator, I'd really love to stop the screen from lighting up.
ill give 'Thanks' to anyone throwing out suggestions

are you talking about the sms app? use a custom one
SMS app is one culprit, so is email, Google talk, battery notifications, LINE messager, and a zillion other 3rd party apps.. itd be much more realistic to find a lock screen off solution, or remove the service that lets apps lightup the screen

Easy fix, get SMS popup app, go into the stock SMS app and disable notifications, now go into the SMS popup app and in notifications , click and enable notifications. Now go into additional settings and unchecked screen on for pop-up . That's it, you'll get notifications without the screen turning on.

Soraxd,
What lock screen do you use?
I have a good workaround, but it involves using WidgetLocker lock screen which is hands down the most killer optioned lock screen around.
Let me know if your interested.

soraxd,
Workaround...works pretty much flawless on my S3 with ICS.
Install Widget Locker. You mentioned that it was not as fast as your stock lock screen. On my old retired HD2 and my 6 month old S3, W.L. is actually faster than stock. The key thing is that you have the settings maximized...which include disabling the stock lockscreen from withing ICS/JB settings. (I can give you more info if it runs slow for you) I just set my wife's new S3 with the same configuration and it works perfect. I can unlock and relock W.L. pretty darn quickly...no delays at all.
Then in W.L., I use a simple Iphone style unlock to slide and have that at the bottom of my W.L. screen so my thumb can easily reach. I have many widgets on the screen. (agenda/last caller/clock etc) Then I use a free app named Invisible Lock Widget. You drop this widget into W.L., and you LAYER IT OVER all other widgets except the slide to unlock. (This is one of W.L.'s coolest features)
First off, W.L. should be set for 10secs time out...so less chance of your leg re-triggering it in the first place. 2nd thing, when your leg triggers the screen because it has turned on due to a notification or what-have-you, then Invisible Lock Widget actually re-locks the screen. It's that simple. Sometimes I press the menu button to turn my screen on to look at the time, and 2secs later I click the screen and it quickly and easily turns off thanks to I.L.W. Once you get used to it, you will find it is very convenient and efficient. Like I said, it's a work around and also has other benefits.
Widget locker can be set to suppress the "power button long press menu" if it gets triggered in your pocket. It cannot suppress the "low battery" warning popups that show up above W.L. but the dev might be adding that. (I requested it) I have a Tasker workaround for that. If your running Tasker, I will share that with you. It works like a charm. With all these little workarounds, I no longer do the "Pocket Launch thing".

LockScreen Mulitple Widgets on 1 screen

I know how to set up widgets, i have mail, text and gmail. The problem i am having is that when i get a new text message or missed call, it defaults to the stock 1st lock screen where it says "1 Messaging" "1 Missed Call".. Both without details. I would like to know how to get a Gmail and Messaging widget on the first lock screen to see what the message says and what my new Gmail message reads or missed calls, etc.
i can not figure out how to get more that 1 widget on each screen. Also how to remove the default "1 Messaging" notification screen.. Make sense?
It is my understanding that you can only have one widget per screen

With the default lockscreen you can only have one widget at a time. You can get around this by installing another lockscreen app like WidgetLocker Lockscreen.
You could also use DashClock which gives better information than the default lockscreen clock. To see more info you just swipe down and there it is.
To get that working on the default lock screen you need install DashClock and then go in to Settings/MyDevice/Lock screen and click on Multiple widgets. Now go back to the lock screen and pull down and then scroll to the left to the big plus sign. Tap on that and choose DashClock. It will now appear on your lock screen. Setup the notification that you want via DashClock. Now remove the original widget by tapping and holding on it and then drag it up to the garbage can.
Hope this helps you.

Even though you can setup Dashclock this way, it still hides almost all the information until you pull back down again to the screen edit mode.
The stock touch wiz lockscreen sucks. Widgets are clumsy if you use security. The app based lockscreens are all too buggy. Maybe someone will get the AOSP lockscreen working.

Yes, same here.
fix your circle clock with widgets for lockscreen
Remove all active widgets from lockscreen that you only see the adding option on lockscreen, but leave the option active for using widgets on lockscreen.
Then lock your screen, mean shut off your screen.
When your power on your screen again, the circle clock is back and you can set up your widgets again.
Sorry for my bad english.

Floatify = GREAT "notification bell" replacement (so far)!

Just ran across Floatify in the Playstore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.floatify
Seems to work on the lockscreen the way Android Marshmallow notifications should work! I disabled the heads up setting in the app, but in my 5 minutes of playing with it, the lockscreen works GREAT! You can keep your ZTE lockscreen, the notifications just display on top of it and you can swipe them away. You do disable the stock notifications, but this has worked fine in my email and text test as well as a few Dropbox notifications.
It lets you expand the notifications too.
Only down side I've seen so far, you need the "pro" version ($1.49) to get the notifications to stack on top of each other.....Otherwise, with the free version it still works....But the newest one is on top, when you swipe it away there is one under it....so if you get 6 notifications, to see the first one you'll need to swipe away all the others on top. I've already purchased the "pro" version, otherwise I'd test that setting out to make sure I'm correct in telling you this?
But all's I know, I'm really happy with this $1.49 app!

Well, when I first tried it, it didn't show anything... Then when I was about to post this, I checked again and it shows up just like a standard notification (along with the others).
I'm using Shuttle+ and the top one is the music notification. No controls, just "what's playing".
Lol.....It even reminds me that my wife took the Kohl's card last month and used it (busted).
Best solution I've seen so far.

It's a flashable .zip font called "ChinaCat". You have to be rooted to use it, since it flashed via TWRP.
Yes, amazing. I hated that bell, now it's six feet under.
I just wanted to provide a different option for anybody who wants the finger print scanner + album art to work.
Hi Locker.
Main benefits: full album art with the audio controls and works with finger print scanner.
The main downfall is if you want to do the finger print scanner, you have to have ZTE's stock lock screen enabled which means you'll have two lock screens.
It works two different ways.
1. If you press the power button, it'll bring up the ZTE lock screen with the bell. If you have your lock screen set at swipe, it'll then go to the Hi Locker lock screen which will display notifications. If you press the button, you can unlock by using the finger print scanner twice. So, ultimately, using the power button and swiping immediately will bring you to the next screen and that will have all your notifications including album art taking over the wall paper and audio controls.
2. If you use the finger print scanner, it'll bypass the ZTE lock screen and go straight to the Hi Locker screen. Now you'll be able to function with all the other above. You can then use the finger print scanner a second time and you'll completely unlock the phone.
It's a weird way but this was the best way to get the finger print scanner and album art going at the same time... until ZTE releases something.

tele_jas, Thanks for sharing this one! I think it's much better than having a second lockscreen. I left my native notifications turned on,but just turned on the "Show on the lock screen" option (to kill the bell). Then, inside Floatify's settings, under Heads-up, then under "When", I disable "On Notification", but left "On Lockscreen" set to All Notifications. So I have Floatify only on top the lockscreen, and the default system notifications everywhere else.
Great find!

Just one question how disable the bell icon being on lock screen or it's not possible to all time hide it?
Edit: I don't know but find it very complicated through setting.
Too many settings and similar option
Missing simplicity from the app.

Sorry I find the app too messy and complicated with dozens of similar option and settings.
Prefer next lock screen as lock screen replacement and I'm using glimpse notification to wake up screen on notification alert and double tap to sleep from lock screen.
Or just wait if being stock until ZTE make the bell optional witch not being late until released via software update.

Also interact badly with player pro widget on notification center when pull down while playing music.

Sorry to those not happy with it and are asking me questions on how to use it?..... I liked it and found it useful and posted the link. I don't really know much of, or any of the technical stuff about it, I just set it up and left it alone and haven't touched it since day one. No, it's not perfect and not as useful as real stock android notifications, but I still like it MUCH better than the "bell".
I do know when you "start the app", you'll get the option to disable the stock android notifications (the three choice menu). You want to choose to not show any notifications and this will disable the "bell". There is someone on here uses it a slightly different way and left instructions on how they used it.
