[REQ] Port opensource linux fps game to android - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

sorry if i posted this in wrong place but i am not sure at all where i should post this so mods, move this if needed.
So i found this cool game:
http://www.redeclipse.net/
And i tried it. It was really cool game and because it has been made for linux(and too for windows and many others) so it could be probably possible to port to android and it isn't laggy game because just mid graphics it doesn't lag on 10 years old computer(i have so old computer)

Also if someone will make this i hope keyboard support stays, but of course it stays???

[Q] mc3 on hp touchpad how to?

Does any one know how to get i work?
I have downloaded data etc.. start game and video good gameloft and then5 sec later says mc3 has stopt! My tablet does that also with riptide gt!
Is there a fix or something i have the suprme mod on it!
no one?
I would love to play the game and should be posible ipad has same screen so the game must suport it!
A lot of people have issues with a lot of games. The answer, unfortunately, is the same across the board. Tweak your build.prop, try backing up the data from a working / supported device, then restoring it on the tablet. Try playing with the test graphics drivers out there. If none of those work, you might have to wait for the game designers to add support for the TP into their program - which may or may not happen.
ah ****
Yeah sucks.
But i dont understand why is does download and start and then stops/forceclose!
Okay thx

[Q] How to port a windows game to Android

Hello. I say you that I'm not a developer but I want to become it.
I want to port a Windows game (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Game PC; like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N76r0RjAYBI) on the platform Android but I don't know how I do it (if I cannot do it, you can say me it unscrupulous) Thanks in advance.
PS: [I want to port this game as Machinarium is ported on Android]
Impossible.

Thanks. So I cannot do nothing. Help Developers?
A) The game is written for a x86 processor and not the ARM processor
B) It is written for Windows (would be a bit easier if it was on linux)
C) You do not own the game and so porting it without source code would be very hard (and would likely result in you being told to remove the app)
So simply its near impossible, would take far to much work and even if you where able to do it its likely you would not be able to release it
Not Possible!
I is not possible if you don't have the source code. If you have the source code and the editor to open/export it, then you can recompile a Windows game to Android. But, you'll also have to code the game for Android. . And I don't think any developer like EA, who develops Windows games would give their source code to any one. However, some Open-Source games allow you to download the source code. You also need lots of programming experience because game-programming ain't that easy!
is it possible to port NFSMW 2005 to android?
I read the comments above,so far I'm agree Since NFSMW 2005 also develop by EA...
and why EA doesn't consider releasing NFSMW 2005 on android even after having so many latest cellphone which meet above the most PS2 /PC games requirement.
Im interested in porting age of wonders shadow magic to my kindle, can i not just build a shell to gimmick ol windows and just basically create an interface? Kind of like a plug n play interface model...yah the file package might be bigger but still. Or am i just crazy? Like a rom emulator
I would like to see starbound ported to Android one
You can use a emulator like bochs or other emulator that can emulate windows games
Will i be able to port osu!lazer to android, it works fine on mono with linux.
I am also trying to do a similar thing and have the same experience(zero lol). But im trying to port PrusaSlicer an app for 3d printing to android, its completelt open source(as far as i know) and although i dont have a linux system it also has a linux version.

[Q] Force different rendering resolution in android apps

Is it possible to force specific apps to render themselves in smaller resolution than the native (device's) one and telling the device to rescale them? I'm talking specifically about old Gameloft games that don't work on new devices anymore due to no xhdpi support.
I managed to run Modern Combat 2 on LG Nexus 4 (mako) but it has severe bugs with touch area and aiming that make the game unplayable.
I wouldn't mind playing this game in lower resolution rescaled to fit the entire screen as long as it would actually work (MC2 has smoother gameplay than any other game in the series + smaller maps = better multiplayer experience when there is not much time to play).
I hope that I didn't miss any identical threads when searching for them. I actually found one but it was pretty old and with no real solution.
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

you could use paranoid android rom which has options to change dpi per app. Theres also an app called xposed, which allows you to load a module to change the dpi of different apps.

Unreal 3 games port on Android

I was wondering if anybody knows a way to run unreal 3 pc games on android...and a way to export them? I think that most of the files are identical on pc xbox ps3 and android so we will need them and an apk to do the other job.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Actually no, the files are not identical. I have done quite a bit of tinkering on both PC and console Unreal 3 games. The console resources are all optmized and packed according to the target platform, to make loading faster and enable streaming load on platforms with low RAM(eg consoles). Also even you got around that(no public SDK available that can convert to/from the console specific formats(and i'm guessing that includes android) you would need to find a way to handle all the different scripting commands and platform specific functions.
Very interesting.

it is possible if you have source code of game & in-depth knowledge of game development on android & PC but it will be very hard to port an HD heavy graphics PC game on android and you have too many programming barriers to port PC game to android like codes for C++ of pc may not properly work on Android NDK or you may have to write the full java source code instead of C++ for android
so 20% chances are there to port
press thanks if i hepl you
Life is Strange, isn't it?
I noticed that Life is Strange is on the Unreal Engine, I asked the developers on Twitter to port it, I don't see how it isn't possible.
We can play every single TellTale Game on Android, Goat Simulator, Slender, and even Call of Duty and Turbo Dismount. Saying it's impossible is stupid. If the game was literally built on an engine that can have a selection to Android just like that, how is it impossible? Not to mention San Andreas is possible? GTA III? It's literally stupid to say it's impossible, and one day I'll be a game developer and figure it out myself.

My first game for android

Hello evereone i'm very very beginner developer and this is my first published app for android. It's logic game, something like 3d labyrinth. It will be greate if u download and test it U can find it in google play as "Jelly and Labyrinth", the app is available in version over 3.0
Hi, I just tried it. I am going to be honest - I wouldn't play it. The graphics are pretty bad. I didn't understand what I was supposed to do in the actual gameplay. Moving the character with arrows rather than with dragging is very counterintuitive. Ditch the story animation at the start and work on explaining the gameplay in a more natural way. People want to jump right in a game and start playing. No one will go for the how to play first.
thanks for reply) i will try to make it better)
