[Q] Sense 5 video highlight - HTC One X+

So, what exactly is this new video highlight feature we got with sense 5, and how does it work? I'm running stock all the way, and I see a highlight folder in my gallery. However, all the folders have the same option to run a slide show, but that's it... I'm sure that's not the "cool" video highlight feature that I've read about everywhere. Am I missing something here?

so I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't fully get this thing then? strange that there's no help topic about it..

I'm guessing that's what it is... In fact I'd like a way to hide / delete / prevent the video highlights for some events where they make no sense, like when I photograph the whiteboard at the end of a meeting....
Still looking for a way to do that
Ps: I would speculate it looks better on a real One, as then the video highlights can be based on Zoe videos, instead of being based on still photos (and perhaps regular videos)

[Q] Gallery picture sorting: newest first

Is there any way to change the camera photos to "newest first"? Right now my newer pictures are at the bottom and it takes a while to scroll down
Has anyone tried this, seems to be the for Nexus One though? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804161

It's in the market too but it won't display pics in 3d
I hate this problem too, a workaround is to open the camera app and click the preview box in the corner. That will allow you to view the most recently taken pictures first, and when you switch to grid view it will start at the bottom.
Did you know that, when scrolling through the photos, there is a function similar to what you get in the addressbook (People)? Once you start scrolling and the little scrubber/scroll bar appears, grab it and move it manually. It'll allow you to fly through the images in a second. As you're doing so, it'll even give you a pop up of the date of the photos where you'd be if you stopped scrolling. I hope that helps.
I think the other annoying thing I've seen in every Android phone (or not seen) is the ability to choose a folder before/as you're taking photos where it will save to. On top of this I don't like the HTC photo numbering scheme (image sequence) instead of time stamp as a name. I prefer the time stamp as you don't have to worry about duplicates, repeats, or conflicting names when moving and shuffling photos from phone to phone or computer for backup.

[Q] Anyone know of an app like Samsung's Mini Diary?

I've been looking around for an app like Samsung's Mini Diary.
The key things I'm looking for are:
1) ability to take multiple pictures and select multiple pictures from the gallery to be grouped into one event like "at the baseball game" or something like that. Being able to select one as the "cover" picture for the event would be nice, too
2) Having the option to maybe put a little caption with each individual picture too would be nice, but just having the title for the event would also be fine.
I've tried a few "photo journal" type things on the market, and a big flaw I've found with all of them is that, say you have a bunch of pics from one event and you want to add them to a journal entry, you have to add them one at a time, rather than being able to batch select a few pics from the gallery. kind of a pain.
Some of the available apps aren't very nice looking, either.
Right now, the best solution I've sound is called "million moments". Its got a really nice interface and lets you tag multiple pictures at once, but tags in the app are colour coated, and theres only about ten colours to choose from. Thus, you can only have ten tags, so you can't effectively use tags as titles for events.

Video Highlight Reel Length mod

So first let me say, yes I'm a first time poster, but long time User of XDA, so hey!
I've gotta say, as a video editor myself, My favourite feature of The One are the Highlight Reels. And in 4.3 which I just upgraded to, it's made even better with the option to select your own music (which works rather well!).
My only issue with this is the length. I often find myself wishing for even 1 minute over the 30-33 second limit. Think about it....A lot of actual songs have 20-25 second intro's alone, so by the time it get's into the first verse you want on the reel, it's already fading out..
I'm actually curious if there's any files that can be edited to adjust the video length with custom tracks. I know the fact that the template tracks are a set length already might be the issue here though......
Anyone have any insight?
updates
Maybe in future updates HTC will incorporate this. Already they have added more modes to the highlight reel in 4.2.2
the only other way is to click on the photos you want a highlight reel and make two of them idk

[Q] Gallery and Event renaming

Maybe I am just missing something, but in the HTC Gallery, when viewing the Events section, I cannot hold and rename these events, they are simply the date. This causes an issue when creating a Zoe highlight video. At the end of the video it will have the date displayed rather than a title, because the title is generated from the tittle of the Event.
The only way I can see around this is to make a whole new Album under the Albums section, name that, and then make the Zoe Highlight Video from that Album.
Anyone have any other solutions?
its annoying yes, but nope...whatever folder the pics are in is what the zoe will be named after unfortunately

At the moment this feature is missing despite it's already present on the HTC M7. You are right...it's no so handy create an entire new album everytime and it would be nice having Zoe highlight with a customized name.
I sent an email from the play store page of the gallery app to see what their answer will be.

Camera: Burst Mode pictures after wipe/new ROM

So I have been using the burst mode option on the S5 camera quite regularly to get that perfect shot of lightning or to catch the waves crashing in on a lake, even to get some action shots of my kids. One of the great things about this feature I found was the ability to play them almost like an animated gif right from your gallery so when showing off some of my pictures I could play them for people.
After wiping and installing a new ROM, it seems the association between these pictures has been lost. The pictures are still there, but the "play" feature has been lost. If anybody out there has any experience with this and found a way to get the pictures to re-associate with each other so they can be played again and could provide me with their solution that would be awesome.
Thanks in advance, and I completely understand that wiping and installing a new ROM may have lost that "play" option forever with the older photos, but I'd like to at least try.
Custom ROM: XtreStoLite 1.3a G900T UVU1BNG3
Kernal: 3.4.100--KT-SGS5-KK4.4-TW-G900-08.04.2014--ktoonsez #2
First you should make an effort to see if that "feature" is present in your new ROM. There is no reason to necessary expect it to be there. Make some new brackets (burst shot sequences) and see if they play he way you want. If they don't and there is nothing in the settings menu to toggle such an option, it would be reasonable to conclude that it isn't a feature in this ROM. In which case you will have to go without the feature, revert to your previous ROM or look for a third party app that may add that feature.
If the feature does work for new brackets, then look for an "import" feature in your gallery app. Failing that ensure that your old shots are in the same directory as the new brackets. If not, then move the old ones to your the new folder that the system uses and then do a media scan.
As a last resort, you can try going to the application manager in the settings menu and clear the cache and data for the gallery app. This will reset all settings and after the system rescans the media folders (after a reboot anyway), it may index all of your brackets.
.
Thanks for the reply. The new ROM has burst mode, but the wipe seems to have killed to any connected indexing of old pics. Tried all your suggestions, nothing got me where I wanted to go.
