[Q] HTC One TV App On Cyanogen 10.2 - AT&T HTC One (M7)

I just installed CM 10.2 on my HTC One and the HTC TV app is not on the phone. Has anyone a) confirmed that IR works on CM 10.2 and b) does anyone know where I can either get the TV app or recommend an IR Remote app. Thanks!

Look in the play store for ir apps, supposedly an ir app is being developed by the cm team .

Any one you would recommend? The only ones I'm finding aren't good and I haven't found one that works.

I think the best one got taken off the market but idk since I usually stay on sense and use their app

the copy i got off of xda works perfect. its the 11/27 build thats is compatible with android 4.2. google xbmc android and click on the xda link. they are keeping semi nightly status going. also, the navi-x app works perfect! all the streaming option there are today (google play music) there is no need for a large internal memory imo
edit---
heres is the link to working copy

From the XBMC team:
Users should be aware that an update to Android 4.2 appears to have temporarily broken XBMC support for all you Nexus and Cyanogenmod users (and anyone else running 4.2). Beta3 should be right around the corner, and we hope to have a fix in place by the time that rolls out.
You can probably get it working using a nightly build but I'm holding out for Beta 3.
Yes ive been running xbmc since i got my tablet 2 weeks ago, its good that they are making it officially supported.
My experience has been that all SD content plays perfect. All 720p MKV's play perfect, so long as the audio is not DTS, if the audio is aac or Dolby Digital its fine, but DTS makes it go very choppy.
1080p MKV is just very very choppy.
I believe it is because the internal player is all SW encoded, if they turn on HW support then it should run perfect, judging by how well MX player plays with the DTS codec download.
XBMC 12 RC1 is out. No longer beta. Working perfectly on 4.2.

There's a version of XBMC for Android (starting on January 18th, I think) tagged as hwaccel that has, reportedly, HW acceleration in many Android devices.
Does anybody know how to check if the Nexus 10 is included?
I'm running it. Works great! Checkb out this article. It states that xbmc will call up an external video player like mxplayer, and steam HD

No, I didn't mean that version with external player support.
I meant this:

O dang I hadn't heard of that one. Downloading now. Have you tried it out?

Working great
Running this one now http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/android/xbmc-20130127-c34a6a1-android-hwaccel-armeabi-v7a.apk
Scanned all movies from my readynas. Seems to be working well so far. Just played with past 15 min.
I've tried 3 different builds. The new xaf build, the hardware accl version and the beta 3 from xbmc.org and all 3 have same effect. Using local files they play fine. But when I use navi x to stream them they audio and video stutters pretty bad. I'm using clean rom 1.1 and Franco v4.

bump..
whats the latest crew are using on their N10?
I'm using the latest official release directly from xbmc.org with the 1channel add on. It can't be beat!

I actually went with the pivos nightly build..
Seems to be running OK..
Used the hub to autoset the addons it comes with..
But with that being said, I do see a new android nightly so I might be daring and give it a whirl..
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/android/
Problems with addons for me on the 10/08 build..
Going to play with the monthly and see if any joy..
No joy..heading back to the pivos build..
The new builds are lightening fast with loading and navigation..
But scripts are not loading and its not allowing addons to access internet..
Which is a little painful as it will load in addons via fusion so its not access problems.
Anyway..looking forward to seeing these builds mature.

Man I'm loving the stable frodo build. The 1channel add on went through a little rough patch over the last day or so. Changing it domain from primewire to let me watch this fixed it. All my shows with subscriptions are working perfectly. Still can't believe something so polished and high performing is so cheap.

There is a good guide to setup on android devices for those that are new to XBMC.
http://www.xbmcandroid.com/2013/06/03/how-to-install-the-official-version-of-xbmc-for-android-then-configure-it-with-the-xbmc-hub-wizard-addon/
Also another little tip is to go in to programs XBMCHUB - Maintainnace -"Mantainance" - "download all UK plugins"
this will load a lot of the latest good plugins to add sites from.
total time for setup about 1/2hour.
Edit: So as not to double post..
heads up to this as well.. for those that dont have a Synology NAS and the programs that come with it..
I played with it last night and seems a nice way of Movie management.. brought the paid app to support the developer..
He has done a good job on it..

Sideload S Beam?

This may be a dumb question but is there any way to sideload S Beam on my cm10 gs3? I miss that functionality but love this rom. Everyone is always wanting to see me show off s beam with other stock gs3's and it's embarrassing when I can't. Android beam and wifi direct doesn't work either on cm10 for me

Not gonna happen. It uses closed sourced files and drivers that AOSP doesn't include so neither does cm10
Batcom2
The GS3 has CM10.1 nightlies now doesn't it? If I'm not mistaken, Google added the ability to send photos and videos via Android Beam in 4.2. So Android Beam should now have pretty much the same features as S-beam.

Its been there since ICS.
Android beam is there but doesn't work for me. I've tried it with my brothers stock gs3 and also my nexus7. If a stock gs3 tries to beam me something it opens my play store then gives an error

Android Beam has been there since
ICS, but was limited to sending contacts, map data, play store data etc. In 4.1 JellyBean they added support for sending photos and videos too. So yeah, support should have been there since CM10 not CM10.1.

I'm running a nightly from 11-29. Is there any builds that u are aware of that beam is fully functional? Or even wifi direct?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
I don't think WiFi Direct support is there in CM for any device other than the Nexus devices. I don't know the technicalities behind it. The 11-29 nightly doesn't transfer photos and videos via Android Beam? In any case, Android Beam uses only NFC while S-Beam uses both NFC and WiFi Direct, so the lack of WiFi Direct shouldn't be any problem for Android Beam.
Maybe try finding a ROM that has AOSP feel but it still has GS3 stock framework and aps in it.
Ok thanks for the responses. I upgraded to the latest nightly on 12-25, didn't try beam but for some reason my Google now wasn't working and looked completely different so that was a deal breaker for me therefore I went back to 11-29

On the stock GS3, turn off S-Beam and it'll work, I just tried with my sister's stock GS3 and my 10.1 M2 GS3

[Q] Any app that can record HOX+ screen?

Hi All,
Is there any app that can do screen recording on HOX+ yet? From what I understand, all apps on Google Play Store do not support Tegra2/3.
I heard about SCR Screen Recorder, tried but apparently, it does not support 4.3
Many thanks!
You understood correctly.

Google 4.3 TRIM for Earlier Versions

So Google recently introduced (secretly) TRIM support for 4.3. My question is...is there anyway to port this to 4.1+?
Are there any alternative apps in Google Play?

Hell's ya "lag fix" free and paid. Ran it on my galaxy nexus noticed an immediate improvement. Best to keep as much space free too.
You did't ask but also check out 'greenify' that will really help too. I couldn't reliable use play music to stream and surf the web without that to kill apps that run long after I quit them... Like maps
This really depends on what device you are using, but blackhawk-next kernel supports fstrim. I was using fstrim on cm 10.1 (4.2.2) w/ blackhawk-next before I upgraded to cm 10.2 (4.3)

Camera on ASOP

I know there isn't any way of getting Samsung camera on ASOP rom (them not being open source and all), so what my question what are so the cameras do you guys use on ASOP? is there any developer out their that already has .apk for a good camera that I not aware of? of some other ones from play store! So let me hear your opinions, I'm curious! ( I'm not a fan of Google camera at all)
I've been wondering the same thing, the Samsung camera is the only thing that keeps me coming back to touchwiz.
