AOSP Roms Wifi Issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Every once in a while I get an issue where the wireless driver on my phone will crash. In the logcat it says Wifi Driver failed to load. This is after it goes to sleep I think. But it won't turn back on afterwards. The settings app will proceed to freeze while trying to open up the Wifi list or it will show the Wifi list but it'll be a blank page and you can't switch wifi on or off. I usually have to reboot the phone to get wifi working again but sometimes I can do a quick settings toggle on it. Anyone else get this issue? This is only on AOSP roms, the Touchwiz roms work just fine!

Wifi Turning off when opening apps

I recently did a factory reset and format on my Vibrant and then rooted it, but kept the stock TW and everything. Recently, whenever I opened up an app that required an internet connection like textPlus or XDA, the wifi icon on the top bar would disappear and the app would simply not work. In the wifi settings, it says the my wifi network is found, but there is no signal strength, and under the option to turn wifi on or off it would say "unsuccessful." I can then turn wifi OFF and turn it on again and the network would then have like 3 or 4 bars and is functional, but whenever I would open up textPlus or XDA, it will show an animation of the app opening but I would still see my homescreen except nothing is responsive (and the wifi icon will disappear). I can get out of this by pressing the home button, but it'll freeze whenever I turn on the apps. Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

Well or less known official FroYo ROM issues

Here is a small list of all the issues that I had while using the stock FroYo for the Samsung Galaxy 5 on I5500 :
1. Compass is broken: This issue has been fixed with latest official FroYo builds.
2. WiFi does not wake up every time you unlock your SG5 : one will need to lock and unlock again and again until WiFi comes back from sleep or just tell Android to never put WiFi to sleep. I've also noted that it has some issues connecting back to hidden networks after going to sleep or changing the wireless access points if you have more than one stored in your wireless network settings. It looks like this issue is driver specific and happens with 2.1 either.
3. WiFi refuses to connect even while using the right credentials : the issue is more likely to appear if you've switched your phone to Airplane (Offline) mode. It is observed that even a reboot of the device does not fix this issue. The only work around is to switch back to Airplane mode and then switch off the Airplane mode again. Issue looks to not happen anymore with latest official builds.
4. GPS is slow on fixing location : sometimes GPS needs a few minutes in order to lock your position even if you've just turned off Assisted GPS. Using the Fix GPS tip (FroYo hidden menu could be found by tiping *#*#3214789650#*#*). Sometimes you will need to erase the GPS data to get lock. GPS is just locking slowly on stock 2.2 for SG5.
5. Sleep of Death: Issue persists even with latest stock FroYo ROMs. It happens more often if you leave your WiFi always on and let your telephone to go to sleep. Sleep of Death is not FroYo specific. It happens with Eclair too.

[Q] XperiaP ICS Wifi always on ?

Hi,
Few weeks ago I rooted and update my new XperiaP to stock ICS (6.1.B.0.544) and everything was working just fine for some time.
Then one day I noticed that the Wifi doesn't work correctly - once connected to my home network it doesn't switch anymore to other
networks, Wifi switch doesn't work at all when I tap it moves to the OFF position but the icon on the status bar never disappears and when I
enter the menu again the Wifi switch is On. So I can switch to another network only after restart
After restart everything works fine...After that I noticed I have same problem with 3G - I can turn it ON only after restart otherwise even if the switch
shows it's on it actually isn't.
I don't have any exotic apps installed before that issue happened - the only think I remember I did was to activate 3G package from my provider.
Any Ideas or suggestions ?

why have to toggle airplane mode to get wifi to come on?

Anyone know why I would have to toggle airplane mode to get wifi to come on? I'm rooted on Slim rom but it has occurred on every rom I've been on. Seems like it wasn't happening when I first got my phone but lately wifi just does not automatically come on by itself.
Also, when I'm at work (at a hospital) now I can't even connect to the wifi where I could before...

"Slow Start" to WiFi access [Snapdragon]

I'm on the latest MIUI Stable and I have this weird issue where if I pick up my phone and try to do anything the phone acts like I have no connection for a few moments.
If I go to reply to someone on Line messenger it says "no connection to network" for about a minute then works. If I attempt to use Twitch it hangs for a couple seconds on the initial open and hangs even more when finally picking a stream to watch.. So on and so forth.
It's Wi-Fi only, and an exclusive issue to my Redmi. Is this a power saving option I'm missing? Does the Xiaomi.eu rom have this issue? How do I fix this?
Bootloader is officially unlocked and I'm rooted for what it's worth.
Fixed.
For anyone curious or experiencing a similar issue, the issue was an IPv6 setting in my gateways settings. Go over your settings with a fine tooth comb and you'll probably find it.
